Didn't send back a third time, just didn't eat the egg. Friend got breakfast sandwich which he described as just ok with side of overcooked potatoes. I was at the bar for like 1 hour, my check was 50$, I tipped the bartender 20$ cash and the transaction that was charged on my card was 70$. There is no phone nr to talk with somebody at that restaurant, I sent them an email about the receipt and nobody answered. Service was great, and the bartender was a very nice guy since I tipped him 20$ on a 50$, but I have to give them 1 star for this situation, there is no way to get in contact with somebody at that place to see how you can get your money back. They have a very lively and bustling atmosphere and the staff were all very polite and professional. The booths are up a step. Our child would have been under the table so we asked to move and he put us at a two top. Bar Siena is a GORGeous Italian spot in the west loop. I've been here 3 times, and left happy and very full each time. Their menu is refined, with classic Italian options that the chef always gives his own interpretations. Their cocktail menu is delicious. They've got the classics but also have a special list of signature cocktails marked with their own number. The interior truly can't be beat. The bar downstairs wraps around a tree adorned with lights, and the experience continues as you go upstairs and you can see all of the branches. On the outside, they also have a bombo bar where you can buy delicious Italian donuts for dessert. Being located in the west loop, it's walking distance from other bars and restaurants so the location is truly prime. read more

Loved loved loved this place. While visiting Chicago, roaming the streets, we got hungry and stopped here. We made reservations only 20 minutes earlier and were accommodated easily (party of two). It looks like there are multiple floors to this place. We were sat on the first floor by some open doors/windows, which allowed for a great street view, and the area was poppin that night. Our waitress came right over, most friendly and helpful. Immediately made some drink and food suggestions that we listened to. We ended up ordering way too much food, but we just couldn't decide and were ravenous. We ordered the Burrata, Roasted Meatballs, Cacio e Pepe, Carne pizza, and the Cookie Jar. Our favorites were the Cacio e Pepe and the Cookie Jar. But really everything just had some wonderful flavors. The place itself is beautiful. It's busy, and a little loud, just a great night out atmosphere. It was the only restaurant we didn't plan ahead of time for, and it ended up being our favorite one while visiting Chicago. read more

I was so excited to try this place! To start with the positive: Our server was attentive and prompt without checking in too frequently. I thoroughly enjoyed the environment! There were lights throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces, and it had an Italian ambiance. As for the cocktails, they were delicious! We ordered the No. 4 and No.8 (both consistent with what my boyfriend and I like), and they were made well! The food, however, was lacking in my opinion. My boyfriend is somewhat of an Italian food snob, and he said his Gnocchi was incredible. However, my Rigatoni alla Vodka was one of the most bland dishes I've ever tasted. This is saying something as I am one of the most plain eaters I know. The texture of the pasta and sauce was great, but I had to request Parmesan and pepper in order to add flavor. I'd say that's not a great dish when pepper is required to add any semblance of flavor. I would not be likely to return for dinner based on my experience. The Cappellacci and Pizza were culinary delights. The noodle (a broad one) was perfectly prepared. Pizza crust--very artful in its crispy crust and thin pie. (My own preference with the pasta might be to sub out the pancetta--a personal choice; and my inability to order the same next time might lead me to the Wild Mushroom pizza). Our server kept iced tea coming, checking on us to keep us happy. The center bar and surrounding tables are well spaced. It's lively, but one can have conversations without shouting. The drinks were good, the pizzas were good, and the other meals were overall good. They were very busy, so our waiter was being pulled every direction. My son drank out of a glass that had a chip in it. We have it to a female manager, she apologized and got us another glass. We set up the reservation with the birthday being identified, but the waiter never said anything about it. We had to say something to the waiter (in front of my wife), which made it not so special. A nice spot for brunch with a large selection of food options. We stumbled in here on one of the final days of Chicago Restaurant Week. It was our first visit and we were very happy to be able to try many of their breakfast items. When we arrived the music was a bit too loud for our tastes. It was later turned down and this helped make the dining experience more comfortable. The Bombo French Toast was truly "bomb" and I could have ended the meal there. It was fresh and springy with hints of lemon and the delicious raspberry coulis. We followed up with the Breakfast Pizza and Short Rib Hash, both of which were quite good. I preferred the Short Rib Hash over the pizza as the dough was a bit tough and didn't seem like anything remarkable. The portion size far makes up for the dough. This pizza is enough for 2 people or more. The Hash was full of hunks of short rib and will definitely be a dish that brings me back. The slaw was also delicious, and the bun had lightly toasted sesame seeds which added to the flavor. I was recovering from a rough day at Lolla so I ordered this swamp water-looking green juice that was actually quite pleasant. Had kiwi, cucumber, and something else I don't quite remember. My friend ordered the lemon-blueberry giant pancake that comes in an iron hot plate and I was very jealous of her bc it tasted so amazing. The food here is PHENOMENAL- the bussers, are fantastic. I'm sure every server that is not Julio, is also amazing. I ordered a GIN GIMLET and was given a ginger ale after 29 minutes.... Because I work in the industry I excused it and ordered a dirty vodka martini and got it 20 minutes later- from a different server. We placed our order for an appetizer & entrees at the same time thinking it would be coursed for us- as any good server would do... but it all came out together. We didn't see Julio until we asked one of the kind busser's to get us our check. Upon delivering our check, my boyfriend made a light hearted jab at Julio (against my wishes) - a simple "nice to finally see you" which was followed by JULIO. Telling us "if you don't like my service don't come back." JULIO was the most unprofessional and rude server I have ever encountered and really ruined the experience for us, again- the food was PHENOMENAL....... JULIO's attitude toward us was absolutely heinous, he has no reason to work in the service industry.... I loved this place when I came here the other night! So my friends and I were planning on going to Au Cheval, and when we learned that they had a 3 and a half hour waiting list, we came to eat here and I am so happy we did. I got the gnocchi which was to die for. It had prosciutto sausage (that I honestly didn't care for too much) but the gnocchi and the rapini and sauce were all magnificent together. Although this was very good, I definitely don't think it was worth $21, though. It wasn't even that big. My friends ordered the wild mushroom pizza that looked amazing, and they absolutely loved it; however, I didn't try it, so I cannot put in my two cents. Our service was wonderful. When we first walked in, the host said it might be a little while because there were no open tables, and then they literally sat us upstairs like 3 minutes later. The ambiance is so pretty and there is a central bar with beautiful strong lights everywhere. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and she even split our checks without us asking, which is very rare, so we were ecstatic. The manager even came up to our table as we were leaving to ask how everything was and to promote their brunch that would take place the next day. Another nice thing outside of the delicious food and great service was that BomboBar is their dessert menu. I had never tried anything from there before, but lemme tell you, I was sold on my Bombolato, which was a doughnut with Fruity Pebbles on top and filled with vanilla gelato. Bar Siena is one of my favorite spots to go on my wait for another restaurant in West Loop, and for good reason: their sangria is phenomenal. Buy yourself a pitcher, it's about $50, which breaks down to $8-9 per glass. You can go right up to the bar and order it and just chill while you drink or walk around. However, on this last visit, I happened to take a closer look at the meals they were serving, and I've got to say, I really want to go back and have their food...the presentation on all their dishes looks awesome! The interior is very nice, just check out the pictures, and upstairs has a cool view and light feature, so I would preference this if I ate there. They also have friendly security workers! Loved my first visit to Bar Siena!!! We arrived on time for our 7:45 reservation on a Friday night and the place was poppin'! We were seated upstairs promptly and got waters almost immediately. Our server was by shortly thereafter to introduce herself (she was a dead ringer for Scar Jo in my opinion) and was attentive for the rest of the night, even though you could tell she was slammed!!!! The food was almost exceptional, we started with the Parker roles (which were like sliders) which were AMAZING, the Bruschetta and the parmesan potato skins (also fricken amazing!). If you ever have a large party you want to host for any occasion, I highly recommend y'all consider Bar Siena. The second floor not only has a separate bar; however, they have quite a few seating arrangements to host parties up to 15 easily. I knew I was in for a treat when they not only had a Paloma as a signature cocktail, but it was made properly with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and it even had smoked salt which elevated the libation. This is the "Number 10" for reference. I was with fellow colleagues and we decided to feast and try a good portion of the menu. Every dish was brought out promptly and definitely left enough for everyone to share. Some dishes that stood out to me were... -Short Rib Lasagna: You need to order one for the table NO EXCUSES. This was probably the highlight of the night for myself and a few others. Each layer was set perfectly and the bubbling cheese in the mini skillet made it that much better. Great ratio. -Gnocchi: This classic dish was tossed with prosciutto sausage and every dumpling had such a soft texture it was so easy to cut through a fork. Grab a few pieces of bread to dollop the sauce. -Chicken Wings: A nice smoked wing with a great crispiness to it. I was visiting the city of Chicago for a couple of days and this establishment was recommended for brunch on a Saturday. When we arrived it was busy but not full. We wanted to sit outside because it was a beautiful morning, but was told the wait was 45 minutes, even though there were tables available outside. We waited about 20 minutes before we were seated to one of the open tables. I ordered a Burrata Wedge salad, added grilled shrimp and my friend has the steak and eggs. I tasted the steak and it was well seasoned and tasty. It wasn't a big plate of food, but I guess that's better for the waistline. Also, no toast is served. The wedge salad has too much dressing for my taste and was not plentiful, with a very sparse piece of lettuce. You get 4 shrimp for an extra $7. They were tasty and cooked to perfection. I also had a Bloody Mary, which was mostly tomato juice but otherwise tasty and aesthetically appealing. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasing, with a bar and many seats. The overhead music was enjoyable but a little loud. They also have an upstairs with additional seating. The wait staff was pleasant and they leave water on the table for refills, a practice that I like a lot. Overall, I enjoyed the experience but being unsatisfied with my meal overall, landed it 4 stars. I would go back but would try something else on the menu. We finally got a guy who was removing used plates to give us more water. I didn't have silverware for my main course because well, the guy took it will the used plates. Great spot for wine and Italian food! The ambiance is vibrant and makes it nice for a date night or small group of friends. We sat outside in a tent and the heat lamps kept us pretty warm. We had a couple glasses of wine - can't really go wrong here! For food I tried the gnocchi, carne pizza, and wild mushroom pizza. The gnocchi was my favorite, the sauce was decedent and the pieces of sausage were delicious. I personally felt like the carne pizza was a bit too salty and heavy, but if you like a lot of different meat toppings, you'd like this pizza. I enjoyed the mushroom pizza, it was light and balanced. We also got the bombolini donuts for dessert and these were fun! They come with caramel, chocolate, and raspberry sauces that you squeeze to inject into the donuts YUM. The ambiance is great: the warmth, the decor, and especially the scent, which is due to the candles burning everywhere that are proprietary to the store and which they have available for purchase: nice! The food was okay but honestly I was not impressed. I had the avocado toast brunch entree, which was decent but so small. SO small. I was still starving afterwards and went home and ate like five giant pieces of chocolate afterwards which made me stomach hurt...dumb choice on my part, agreed, but I was starving and blame the minuscule avocado toast! Also, my friends and I dined at 11:30 a.m. and we wanted to share a dessert. They were out of the two dessert items we were most interested in: really? Early on a Saturday afternoon? Okay whatever. We ultimately split the apple brown butter crostada, which was decent but nothing spectacular. Finally, our server was a little grumpy the whole time which was annoying.
