Although not pictured, I ordered a red sangria and it definitely hit the spot. It was fruity without being too sweet or too bitter. Super refreshing and paired well with the Rigatoni I ordered. I added chicken to the Rigatoni which definitely elevated the dish a little more. For those who like spice, I will say the rigatoni had a bit of a kick to it. It was good but I felt like the noddles were slightly undercooked. We also ordered the meatball appetizer and the sausage and fennel pizza. Parts of the pizza were slightly too charred which gave it a burnt taste. Personally, I think there are way better pizza places in the city to check out. Overall, the service and meal were good. I absolutely love this place. I don't know why I've never reviewed it before; we come here almost every time we visit Chicago for brunch before our drive back home. The service has always been top-notch, and the food is always delicious. I love the menu variety with breakfast items, pizzas, pastas, salads, etc. There is a bit of a wait for the food, but you can't complain about that when the pizzas are made to order. I wouldn't come here if I were in a rush, but if you've got some time, Bar Siena is definitely worth a visit! Oh- and the crispy potato skins are AMAZING! The ambiance is here is upscale casual and pretty lively, as it seems like a very big restaurant (LOTS of seating) with a sports bar type of vibe. We ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka and Mushroom Truffle Pizza. Taste-wise, I think both dishes were okay. I think the vodka sauce was a bit too thin/watery for my taste, and it could have had a richer flavor. The truffle mushroom pizza had good flavor, but the pizza itself seemed pretty dry (tasted more like a flatbread). It would've been really good if there was more garlic cream/sauce in the pizza. I often pass this place, but never made the effort to check it out. That is until my friends and I found ourselves in West Loop one evening, post-concert (it was 12am), and this was one of the only establishments open to grab a decent meal. Despite it being late, we were warmly greeted by the host and were seated quickly. It was busy like it usually is, but our server was super attentive and helpful in making recommendations for us first-timers. My group and I ordered 2 pizzas, fries, and their meatballs from the appetizer menu (added pasta to make it a little more filling). Everything came out quickly, and we demolished everything-- it was so so good (though, I'm also sure our hunger at that hour also contributed to how delicious it tasted to us haha!). I definitely recommending checking this place out, especially if you're looking for a late night bite, as they're open late both weekdays and weekends. Was in the Chicago area last weekend for a concert and every yelp search I found this spot, so told the Hubby it seemed like a spot to check out. When we arrived (which was like 9:15pm) we were seated upstairs near the giant twinkly tree, a perfect spot! Great ambiance with no reservation - maybe we lucked out or maybe they're just the best. I got the paloma, I would rate it a 6/10, small in size and not the most flavorful I've had this summer. We decided to share food instead of getting two full meals. So we got the grilled octopus and burnt pepperoni pizza. I think my husband was surprised when the octopus came out but we devoured it! I am also the type of person who is notorious for taking the crispy pepperonis off the pizza and eating them (even if their not on my specific piece), so the burnt pepperoni pizza was 10/10! We were seated immediately. We chose the upper floor. Both the upper and lower have a sports bar area. There's a DJ booth as well! My date and I ordered from the lunch menu. The portions were larger than we expected! TIP: The only difference between the Parmesan and truffle fries is the truffle fries come with a separate butter drip. No extra oil or seasoning. Food: food is made to order so you know anything you order is fresh. The grilled octopus has so much flavor that you're going to want to order another one. The place is always decently busy but not incredibly difficult to get into like some of the restaurants on Randolph. I love coming here because the menu has something for everyone! If you're looking for something on the lighter side, definitely go for one of the pizzas. I love the thin crust they have here! I think for Chicago the prices are fair but we aren't from here so it seemed a little steep. The drinks were on the pricey side pushing 20 dollars that's really our only complaint. My husband ordered the carne pizza and I went with the short rib lasagna. The smell of the lasagna will make your mouth water. The table next to us ordered it and I couldn't deny myself. It's not like your average lasagna so if you're expecting that you will be disappointed. It is however packed with short rib the baked cheese is delicious and meat melts in your mouth. It isn't saucy and is very rich. It's so good. I feel two can easily share especially if you want dessert, unfortunately we were so full we had to pass. Everything was just OK. My family came for brunch last month and ordered a variety of items off the brunch and lunch menus. We started with the monkey bread which was decent, more bready than most monkey breads as there wasn't as much cinnamon sugar as I might've hoped for so it felt like less of a treat than we would've thought.
