This place is great! We just went for our first time on Sunday night. The bartender was nice and offered for me to try a beer then she gave me her suggestions. The beers we had were great of course! We played video games for a bit and it was so fun and hilarious! It was one of the quieter bars on Sunday so we were to able to pull out our computer and get some work done. Fun space in the heart of the Chula Vista Third Avenue Village. Lots of beers to choose from, and they have porters and stouts, which I prefer. I was poured a Guinness, and when I didn't like the taste (I do like Guinness, it was probably an issue with that batch, or the long journey the beer took from Ireland), they poured me a different beer, no questions asked. Bar Sin Nombre is SPECACTULAR! Their beer list is fire! I enjoy sours and they have more than a few on their list and often have something new to offer. For those of you who don't drink beer (I know there are a few of you out there) the bar also maintains an adequate wine list. The bar offers a great selection of bottles for patrons to partake in so keep that in mind. Third Avenue in Chula Vista has seen an influx of these type of bars so places like Bar Sin Nombre have increased in popularity. Parking can be limited. Be advised, DO NOT PARK in the lot behind the bar as it doesn't belong to them and the apartment complex locks it up after normal business hours and at that point you're SOL. San Diego has its share of world class breweries. There are certain names in the beer world where you know whatever beer you order from them will be excellently made. At Bar Sin Nombre the tap list features beers from these breweries on the regular. Belgian beers from a couple of breweries are regular highlights as well as Belgian inspired beers from within the US. You will always find a few select IPAs and stouts along with some excellent lagers. They post updated tap list regularly on Facebook so you can see ahead of time what to expect. There is also a great selection of beers in bottles and wines for those who don't drink beer. Each beer is served in specific pours ranging from 8oz to 18oz with glassware selected to leave plenty of room for head. Most of the Belgian-style beers and sours are served in 8oz tulip glasses. I am especially glad that the larger pints are served in Impeiral Pint glasses and not the usual shaker pint glasses that I am surprised are still used at major bars around town. The bar draws massive crowds occasionally when they share on Facebook that they have a special Cantillon on tap or other excellent beer. I have visited both when it is insanely busy, where I missed the Cantillon but saw a number of my fellow beer enthusiasts and more recently on a lazy Saturday where the crowd was light but still quite respectable. The outside front has no sign telling you where to go, as part of the nameless theme but you won't have any difficulty finding the place. The inside decor is simple with standard bar stools and plenty of spaces to stand around the outer walls. If you come on a particularly busy day you may barely be able to walk through the place. Though it only opened recently, Bar Sin Nombre has already become a regular spot for local beer enthusiasts to visit, knowing that they will always find world class beer and meet people who appreciate the same. read more

Not sure if he was a server, manager or owner but dear person.. you can't expect to get customers to come back if you snap at them, and leave them sitting at a table for 10 minutes without acknowledging them on a Friday night when you are NOT even busy. This place is one of the few on 3rd Avenue which serves other drinks besides beer, but trust me I'd rather go buy the mix and make it myself at home than go back here. Plus they don't serve any food. We visited Bar Sin Nombre (BSN) for the first time yesterday as it was one of 8 locations amongst our friend's pub crawl list. What a find! We loved BSN! While BSN doesn't have any signs outside indicating it's name, its located on the southeast corner of 3rd Avenue and Davidson Street. What we love about them: 8 different sour beers (on their rotating handles at the time of our visit), video games at a few of their tables, WINE (this is absent from many craft breweries as many only serve beer), Cold Brew Coffee from Mostra (again, not all craft breweries serve cold brew coffee for those non-beer drinkers who want to hangout with their beer drinking friends), bartender "Crystal" who was super cool and awesome, they're located across the street from Don Pedro Taco Shop and they're okay with you bringing in food from the outside to accompany the drinks you're eating there, and finally, the open space atmosphere of their bar. BSN was the best beer spot we visited of all the downtown Chula Vista locations we stopped in at! The negatives: there were none! Even more reason to come and give Bar Sin Nombre a try whenever you're in the downtown Chula Vista area. You'll be one of their regulars, we promise! CHEERS!!! read more

If i can give this business zero stars i would!!! I was there tonight with some friends having a couple beers and celebrating a birthday when the owner who was drunk bu the way came up to us and singled me out asking me not to lean on the tables. Mind you im a heavy dude i e leaned on many tables without any damage... it wasnt the fact that he asked me to not to lean on the tables it was that he insisted on telling me and then having his bouncer come up and repeat the same thing. When the bouncer told me not to lean on the table because"the table had broken previously and slapped someone in the face" i told him ok fine but ask this guy not to lean on it and his response was "nah hes good"... WTF OK AT THIS Point I WAS BEING TARGETED. I asked several patrons if they were leaning on their tables and they said yes. You know some people need their asses beat and the owner of this bar is one of them...besides this place having shitty customer service the beer is sub par... when my friend got in the owners fave about harassing me he had nothing to say and responded with "i dont need your money" " i make plenty from other people... i normally dont give bad yelp revies but fuck this place!!! read more

I'm not sure why the bartenders at this location seem to carry themselves higher then their wage and it is lousy indeed.
