Came here for Happy Hour though not by choice. The food was very hit or miss but the happy hour drinks were good. Happy Hour - MON to FRI (4p to 7p, 10p to 12a) We tried several happy hour items and non-happy hour items. To start, we had an order of Spring Rolls and Tonkatsu Hot Dog. The Spring Rolls were deep fried (FYI) and extremely soggy on the inside. My BFF, who is half Thai, makes Spring Rolls from scratch and she was disgusted by Bar Tatami's attempt. I found them to be tolerable, only because I was hungry, but they were quite soggy and lacked filling. On the other hand, the Tonkatsu Hot Dog was a real treat. I'd definitely order that again. When our other friends and my hubby arrived we ordered more food. Next thing I tried was the Lollipop Chicken Wings. My friend had it before and said they were really good. I beg to differ. The chicken was SO SMALL, it looked kinda pathetic, and wasn't spicy at all. If you want to try some great Lollipop Chicken go to Sino at Santana Row. 5 stars all the way!! Bar Tatami's version was more like -1 star. I wouldn't eat it if they were free! I did not try the Korean Street Tacos but my friend said they were disappointing. Moving on... do not order the Chow Fun unless you like flavorless wide noodles. This dish came with very little beef strips but even this wouldn't have salvaged it. The Lemongrass Chicken Satay was a big hit! It was one of the last items we ordered and I wish it were the first because I would have definitely had a second helping. Must try! The Potstickers were okay, except it had very little filling much like the spring roll. For drinks I had a Dirty Martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives. The bar doesn't actually have bleu cheese stuffed olives but when I asked the bartender she made them for us. This may be the ONLY reason they got bumped to 4 stars. After a several hours of wine tasting, Boyfriend and I came to Casino 580/Bar Tatami to gamble and eat. I'm not as much of a gambler as he is, so he decided to invest in that $50 free plays deal for blackjack. It is a small game room, not like a full casino, but he really only likes blackjack so that worked for him. On a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't that crowded (casino and bar). We were able to get seated easily. The bar is pretty small, but it has a nice feel to it. There are seats around the windows as well as a bar in the middle. During the day, the bar has a warm sunny vibe, but I can also see it being more intimate and trendy at night when it's dark. Service was very friendly and attentive. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks as well as our food a bit later. I ordered the margarita and Boyfriend had a glass of pinot noir. I really enjoyed my drink - it was well made and delicious. As for food, I had the salmon dish and Boyfriend got the special, prime rib. They were both so good (and the plating was classy)! My salmon was soft and had a great sauce. They also came with potatoes and vegetables that were also perfectly cooked - not too crunchy, but also not soggy. Boyfriend's prime rib was also a dream. It had a decent amount of fat on it to give it a good flavor and was also really juicy. The food here is impeccable and well priced! My salmon was only $15 and Boyfriends prime rib was only $22. They also serve pho and stir-fry dishes. If only it were a larger place and not so far away, I would definitely come back and recommend to friends. This restaurant is an absolute secret. It's attached to a tiny casino. The casino is usually very busy and the restaurant / lounge most times empty. No way to know its here unless word of mouth or of course Yelp! It's like an Asian Tavern with good food. Sort of like a gastropub. Good selection of beer and cocktails. Great combination of fusion Chinese, Korean and Thai food. Try the Tatami burger or any of the burgers. I felt guilty while eating the Tonkatsu hot dogs but it was well worth it. Shortly after writing my last review, there were "owners comments" posted back to me, saying, in short, "We're so sorry for the experience, we've fixed it, please try us again". So ...I did go back. Once for a quick bowl of the Pho, just to really make sure they offered it, and again for their amazing burger. The pho was good, not quite as good as I had remembered, but still really tasty. The service is slightly lacking, not bad, but not really good either. It feels like the service is somewhat of an afterthought. You get what you need, when you need it, but not with the level of warmth that would warrant a 5 star rating. The burger on my second return visit was a little undercooked, I had asked for medium-rare and it was still a bit raw in the very center, but once I pointed that out it was immediately whisked away, corrected and replated. They had offered to remake the whole thing, but I asked them just to re-grill for a moment. The burger is great, soft, yet toothy buns, thick peppered bacon, avocado, and delicate, thin potato strips of french fries that crisp up just beautifully. Despite the fact that Bar Tatami has 58 reviews at the time of this review, I'm surprised by how many people in Livermore have never heard of this place. It's one of Livermore's best kept secrets. Also, if you're just visiting Livermore and staying at one of the hotels off of Airway Blvd, Bar Tatami is the closet quality restaurant. Bar Tatami is located in the 508 Casino. Even if you're not a member of the gambling crowd, as I am not, it's worth a trip to the casino to eat here. The brightest point of Bar Tatami's menu is the appetizer section, and I rarely even order a main. 2-3 appetizers and you are golden. The deep fried crab rangoon is a treat. Unlike most poser rangoon, Bar Tatami's are made from real crab, and not hot, imitation goop. The must-have is the lollipop chicken wings. They should start a thing where they take a photo of everyone's face the first time they bite into those things because seriously, it's like biting into a deep fried angel wing dipped in Jesus sauce. If you're into salad, you can't go wrong with the buffalo chicken salad. The big chunks of extra skunky blue cheese crumbles and the tasty wing sauce make it a well above-average salad. If you want to try something different, I recommend the beef laab. The minced ribeye and lettuce leaves are apparently a traditional dish. I wasn't sure of the proper way to eat them, so I made lettuce fajitas. Very tasty. They have 5-6 beers on draft, and a full bar that includes some decent rare wines and whiskey selections. It's a casino... they have decent alcohol. If you're looking for a great place to eat in Livermore, and maybe not into dealing with 1st Street for a night, give Bar Tatami a try! read more

The place is off canyons pkwy in Livermore and you have to check it out. Bar, Restaurant, Casino? Okay. I'm in! Tatami burger was as good as Jason the bartender advertised. Nice bar/restaurant with good food specials. My friend and I ordered the teriyaki salmon and the fried rice which were both average. The mashed potatoes that came with the salmon was unique in taste with wasabi mixed into it. The peach/ginger cocktail was good and refreshing although the cocktail servings are quite small. Bar tatami is my favorite go to place for good eats and reasonably priced drinks. Their lolipop wings are AWESOME especially with a nice cold beer. They have happy hour through the week and sometimes if they are feeling nice they'll charge you happy hour prices. Dont expect this as it is rare for it to happen. They have a good selection of hard alcohol with the most expensive drinking being $200+ a shot. Bar tatami is basically connected to Casino 580. So its denfinitely fun to play a few hands at the table and get some food or drinks and go back. As mentioned i only get the lolipop wings with the garlic fries. Came here for dinner last weekend with my family. My sister and her husband come often. Lollipop chicken was amazing. I've never seen chicken served this way. My favorite thing there! Korean tacos had nice flavor, we got the pork. Served with a side of Kim Chi. Tonkatsu hot dogs were also presented well and had a nice twist to your everyday dog. If your a fan of lilikoi (passion fruit) you can't go wrong with their cheesecake. One reason it did not get 5 stars was the cocktails. Everything is measured and the taste of the drinks lacked flavor and booze :( I ordered a Long Island and it tasted like water. Most people know if you even have one Long Island your feeling pretty darn good. Not the case here. I also wasn't a fan of our server. He was very bland, lacked personality. He also gave us the bill before asking us if we wanted any dessert/coffee. I noticed a family of 5 came in after we were sitting at the big table and it almost felt like we were being pushed out. We were out at the Dublin outlets and hadn't eaten all day so pulled up Yelp as always to find out what was near us. After looking through the dozen or so options and decided on the Asian fusion option that had a great burger for me and Asian options for Eric and a full bar. Our not so trusty GpS got us there and we're promptly greeted by a very friendly bar tender who directed us to sit at any table we liked. He promptly brought us menu and let us know they had the best burger in the tri or quad valley. That saved me the trouble of even looking at the menu then he told us about a drink special called the big Mary that included the burger and two chicken sickles as garnish. Well hell yeah. All my decisions were done. Well you saw the picture. Eric and. Shared the Mary which was rich and spicy but not too spicy with lots of pepperoncini olives and celery along with the burger and chicken. The burger was delicious with bacon and avocado. The chicken lollies were not too sweet. Eric also ordered the veggie egg rolls and rib eye. Ribeye was cooked perfectly. Veggie rolls were delicious not too grease. I look forward going to Bar Tatami during my lunch breaks. Everyone working at Bar Tatami is really nice, approachable, and professional. Service is very top-notch. They really do appreciate your feedback and are looking for ways to improve their business. Props to the staff. There's a full bar and the decor is very classy. Food isn't bad either and quite tasty. One suggestion is to offer more daily specials on food and to market more on social media to get the word out on business. Not sure if people know if there's even a restaurant inside the 580 casino. Our server Blair was very friendly and I hope he is here next time we come! My only issues are: 1- we are facing a serious drought, blindly bringing water isn't a good idea, IMHO. 2- the ranch dressing was way salty. Being new to Livermore I wanted to find a place for my girlfriends and I to drink, eat, and just relax, so I looked up placed on yelp. It is hidden, but it's in a really safe area. and I didn't think that it would be just down the street from my house! This place was GREAT! The drinks were great, the food was great, and the staff was amazing and friendly! For drinks the 5 of us ordered a Blood Orange Margarita (5/5), melon ball (4/5), Ginger Bellini (4/5), Banana Martini (3/5), and 5 of us shared the BIG RIM (5/5). For food we ordered garlic fries (5/5), lollipop chicken wings (5/5), Tatami Burger (5/5), and Tonkatsu hot dogs (5/5). I'm not sure what this place is like on a busy night, but we went on a Monday night, hoping that it would be nice and quiet, and it was. We were the only 2 people at the bar and our food came out extremely overcoooked (except the pho, that was luke warm at best). Cierra our bartender, had complete disregard for our presence. She took a 10 minute break and had no communication, I just over heard her telling Ernie, who by the way was worse than her. He made one drink while she was gone and fished out olives with his nasty, money stained fingers, what happened to sanitation in a restaurant? Read my review below and know I love this place but these two employees and the over cooked chicken lollipops are a huge factor of why I won't be back for a long time. I live right across the street and will be taking my local business elsewhere. If the owners actually read this, do something about this. We stayed at a hotel in emeryville and the bar tender there said she worked here and that the food was great. So we tried it today. Food was REALLY good. Service was a little slow but not the worst I've seen. We went in at 11 am. REALLY quiet in the bar/restaurant. Not a lot of tables and has a small bar. Coors light on tap was a bonus lol. Like a handful of different style fries which was cool. If you're sensitive to smells though be careful. It did smell like a casino that was trying to cover up smoke lol or patchouli ish. We also ordered chow mein, fried rice, and lollypop fried chicken off the regular menu. I really enjoyed the BBQ brisket sliders. They were pretty tasty and the meat was so tender. Jalapeño poppers reminded me of the Jack n The box ones, chow mein was ok, fried rice was pretty flavorful, and the lollypop chicken wings were spicy, but the vinegar was a bit over powering. My co-workers and I came here for a birthday lunch yesterday. I am not sure where to start because everything about this little restaurant was wonderful. The decor was very classy and it is a good place to spend time with good company; great ambiance. The staff: The gal behind the bar served as bartender and our waitress and she was excellent. The only problem is their poor choices for menu selection. The lollipop wings were the best thing on their menu and it was removed. This item was widely popular amongst the bars regular patrons. I would pay double their original price to still have this option available so I sincerely hope that cost was not a factor when it came to removing this item. We went there based on the great Yelp reviews and of course, also curious about the casino. The casino looks like an industrial building, nothing to brag about.
