I would choose differently if I could do it again. The server is always friendly and hospitable. He served our hot waters with lemon and honey already in them. That's a first. This place was ok. We came here at midnight, their website says their kitchen closes at 2:30am and we were starving after a night out dancing and drinks so we were excited to get something to eat! The waitress was really nice and courteous, she said the kitchen closes at midnight. Thankfully we got to order something quick to fill our hungry bellies. Long wait for food and drinks while we seated, waitress was busy entertaining the casino guests. They do have a full bar so we could order any drink or cocktail we wanted, although they do not have a drink menu so if you know what you want you should be good. There are few places open late in the Tri-Valley. This is a great place to get late night food, with AC pumping when your power goes out and you need a nice cool place to get a bite to eat. But on the other hand, you still have expectations of reasonable service, properly cooked food and a good atmosphere. We were at a retirement party for a friend. Some guests pre-ordered meals. Some ordered food while at Bar Tatami and others just stopped by to say hi and congratulations. Some drank, some did not. No doubt that made it very challenging for the staff. Despite an attempt to organize our meals by groups, dinners came out when they came out. It didn't really matter because some of us sat at low two-tops while others sat at the bar. Another group sat at a long high-top that accommodated about ten people. I ordered Prime Rib, Rare with Mashed Potatos. It also came with Steamed Brocolli. She ordered a Strip Steak, Medium Rare with Mashed Potatoes. It came with some Steamed Carrots and Kale. The Veg were good. The Mash glue-ey. Beef was reasonably well-seasoned but somewhat chewy. Back in the day when I used to work in the casino (I know, can you believe that?), I used to eat here ALL of the time... partially because it was convenient, but mainly because it was so good. I hadn't been in years and decided to have a date night there about a month ago. This bar is located in the same building as Casino 580. When I walked in, the sense of familiarity rang in my ears. The beautiful Asian inspired decor had definitely been very well maintained and the bar looked as exquisite as it always had. It was extremely dead on a Tuesday night, which worked to our advantage. We sat down and looked at the menu. I was surprised to see some of my old favorites were still available! I have probably tried almost every item on their menu. Some of my favorites include: their chow fun, chow mein, club BLT, Tatami Burger, Korean street tacos, potstickers and their spring rolls. BUT... my absolute most FAVORITE item off of their menu is their Lemon grass chicken satay! The amount of flavor and spice in this dish is just so unbelievable! The lemongrass emanates throughout the dish and the mango slaw has such an amazing complimentary spice. I would crave this dish quite often and it instantly became my go-to. So as you can imagine, I had to order the lemon grass chicken since it had been so long since I'd had it. My only complaint is that I wish the serving size was bigger. It is characterized as an appetizer, but they literally only give you two measly pieces of chicken. But for the quality of the taste, it is so worth it. You have the option of either having mango slaw or white rice and I always get both and end up mixing everything together. You MUST get the mango slaw along with this dish in order to taste the full effect! The service is generally good and the bartenders and hosts are always friendly. They checked in on us several times during our visit that night and even cleared the empty dishes off of our table right after we finished eating. They have a nice sized television that is viewable from virtually every angle of the bar, and they have a nice selection of alcohol. I stuck to my glass of Pinot Noir that night and my date had a gin and tonic. We came around 8 pm that night, so there were plenty of parking spots available. During peak hours and on the weekends, the parking can be a nightmare. I've sometimes had to park all the way up the street because their parking lot is actually pretty small, and it's shared with the patrons at the casino. Came here with a friend for a spontaneous late-night Monday dinner - it was one of the few places open around 10pm. It's located in the casino, which had a rather full parking lot when we arrived. We were served 1hr and 20min after being seated. When we were ready to order, it took about 10min to wave and finally get our server's attention in spite of not many people being there. The food (only appetizers) took over an hour to arrive, but once our first appetizer came, the other ones arrived within 10-15min. The server was friendly and apologetic, checking in on the kitchen every now and then and giving us an update about 50min in - I felt kind of bad for her, but the wait was truly long... perhaps we came at an unfortunate time? We ordered 3 appetizers: * lollipop chicken (4/5) - a visually interesting appetizer. In a way, it looked kind of grotesque - 5 heavily fried chicken pieces, each with a broken bone sticking out, hence the name "lollipop". The sauce was a blast of spicy, sour, and sweet, and the chicken skin was crunchy and sauce-infused. Pretty tasty, would've been slightly better if served when hot. * lemongrass chicken satay (5/5) - a redeeming dish. The grilled meat was amazingly tender and soft, and the sweet and sour sauce was a good complement. My friend rated this 9/10, maybe even 10/10. * Korean tacos with spicy pork (2/5) - two small tacos the size of one's pal,, mostly shredded cabbage and bits of tomato, limes on the side. It was kind of impressive that this little restaurant is located inside a casino. It's a tiny casino, but an average sized restaurant. The menu selection was interesting, it had a variety of Asian-fusion dishes and new American cuisine. Since the price wasn't bad at all, my coworkers and I decided to try a slew of things on the menu, including the crab rangoons (very good), chicken satay (good), and the tonkatsu hot dogs (my coworker loved them). As my main dish I had the kung pao chicken, which was very tasty. Not a huge portion, but enough to be satisfying. It also looked like they had drink specials. THEN when they get the drinks one of them tasted very sour because the keg was TAPPED. So it took longer for the drink to come, plus it tasted like vinegar. That story irked the shit outta me... you have two employees talking, which I get... but for 10 minutes while we sit there and the one that is facing us looks at us and knows we are there!!! I kept my cool for the entirety while we were there and because I was hungry yet we had to wait almost 40 minutes for our food. Ate here today for lunch with my work buddies. We were laughing because this bar/casino seems so out of place in the middle of North Livermore. There are bare fields on one side, and offices and industrial buildings on the other. The place shares a building with a classic car dealership and a BMW motorcycle dealership. You walk into Bar Tatami and instantly are instantly teleported to a Vegas-like atmosphere of cool music, modern furnishings, and slick vibe. Nickie, the bartender, is very professional. We tried the street tacos and the lollipop chicken wings. The tacos were fantastic, with soft, fresh flour tortillas and well seasoned beef and some cojita cheese and slaw on top. They were served with kimchee that was pretty mild. The chicken wings were fall off the bone, with a crispy outside, tasty hot sauce and tangy blue cheese dressing. We will definately go back. We walked in and there was one couple at the bar and 3 couples total in the whole place, and they all had been served and eaten. So I'm thinking we won't have to wait long. Service is garbage. Came in and we were not helped. Had to ask around about where we should sit or wait. Our food was room temperature when it came out. The pho noodles had soaked up the broth and made the noodles soggy. My girlfriend ordered French fries and they were cold. The sandwich was ok. The second waiter came in and threw our utensils on the table which was dirty from the previous customer. You can't expect good food when service is horrible like this. If you want customers to come in and leave happy make them feel welcomed. Don't make the service weigh them down like your man bun son. read more

Came here for Happy Hour though not by choice. The food was very hit or miss but the happy hour drinks were good. Happy Hour - MON to FRI (4p to 7p, 10p to 12a) We tried several happy hour items and non-happy hour items. To start, we had an order of Spring Rolls and Tonkatsu Hot Dog. The Spring Rolls were deep fried (FYI) and extremely soggy on the inside. My BFF, who is half Thai, makes Spring Rolls from scratch and she was disgusted by Bar Tatami's attempt. I found them to be tolerable, only because I was hungry, but they were quite soggy and lacked filling. On the other hand, the Tonkatsu Hot Dog was a real treat. I'd definitely order that again. When our other friends and my hubby arrived we ordered more food. Next thing I tried was the Lollipop Chicken Wings. My friend had it before and said they were really good. I beg to differ. The chicken was SO SMALL, it looked kinda pathetic, and wasn't spicy at all. If you want to try some great Lollipop Chicken go to Sino at Santana Row. 5 stars all the way!! Bar Tatami's version was more like -1 star. I wouldn't eat it if they were free! I did not try the Korean Street Tacos but my friend said they were disappointing. Moving on... do not order the Chow Fun unless you like flavorless wide noodles. This dish came with very little beef strips but even this wouldn't have salvaged it. The Lemongrass Chicken Satay was a big hit! It was one of the last items we ordered and I wish it were the first because I would have definitely had a second helping. Must try! The Potstickers were okay, except it had very little filling much like the spring roll. For drinks I had a Dirty Martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives. The bar doesn't actually have bleu cheese stuffed olives but when I asked the bartender she made them for us. This may be the ONLY reason they got bumped to 4 stars. The service was fast when we arrived and our initial bartender had to close us out after 30 or so mins. The bartender who took over was really slow but he was the only one working. read more
