Came here for their first time on a weekday for lunch. They were busy but the restaurant did a great job getting food and drinks delivered pretty quick. I had the Ruben which was really good- I highly recommend it but wish they added more meat to the sandwich. The restaurant has high top and regular tables, a bar and country decor. A nice casual spot with okay food. Loved the Halloween decor, but nothing much really stood out to me. Food was decent and reasonably priced, but there was not super special about it. Stopped in downtown Livermore on our way to Oakland for the A's game. Found the Riata based on their high ratings so we wanted to try them out. First impression - The restaurant was clearly a local favorite based on the inside and outside both being packed! Conversations were buzzing, drinks were flowing, and memories were being made! We were seated right away and impressed with our waitress. She was so sweet and helped with food recommendations. All meals were great and tasty! So last weekend I stayed home for UFC but still wanted the bar vibe, so I door dashed the appetizer platter. you get to pick whichever 3 appetizers you like. I went with the potato skins, chicken wings, and fried zucchini. Potato skins were excellent and great to throw in the air fryer for some late night munchies. The chicken wings were absolutely some of the best bar wings I've ever had. They had this smoky flavor and were nice and crisp with a good amount of buffalo sauce and I loved the blue cheese dressing because it wasn't overpowering. It's a nice hefty wing size keeping the leg and wing together. The zucchini tasted like freezer burn or refrigerator. I also wished they used two boxes, because the wing sauce made the breading on the zucchinis soggy. I will definitely be getting delivery again read more

Casual diner spot. We came here before during taco Tuesday and the service was absolutely horrible. I inquired about their Taco Tuesday menu and the waitress just gave me an annoyed face and said to look at their menu randomly sitting curbside written in chalk on a board. So we had to get up out of our seats and go look at their menu. Not many vegetarian options here so haven't dined here since. Today we just went to get some cocktails and the bartender was friendly. We went in on a busy Sunday. Long wait but ya know they said we could sit at the counter immediately so we did. Oh and the BBQ plate was the bomb. I was craving it so....best BBQ! 3 ribs that fell off the bone and so tender tasty. The chicken did not disappoint. And potato salad came with it. Quite pleased and content. Riata's will always be a go-to favorite for us. The country vibe, the delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner specials are all to die for. I have never gotten a bad waitress or meal here. They have incredible chicken fried steaks, wings and are great about substituting and bend over backward to make sure you leave happy and full. My oh my. Just noticed that my previous Riata review celebrated it's 17th birthday. Even though I no longer live in Livermore, I drop into the Riata for a beer or meal when I'm in town (which is fairly often). While every restaurant goes through it's ups and downs, the Riata has been pretty consistent and, if anything, has been on a continuous upswing for the past few years. It's a throwback. Men wear cowboy hats unironically, it kind of feels like a bar that serves food but there's kids running around all over the place on Sundays. It's an old Livermore vibe for sure and that's a good thing. It seems like half the customers are on a first name basis with the staff and if you come in a few times, you're a regular too. It's like Cheers with big silver belt buckles. The menu is a couple steps above "bar food" but "tavern food" isn't a bad description and I don't say that dismissively. There is a nice little outdoor space and I think dogs are welcome there. The street is busy enough that there are things to look at but it's not like First Street so you can have a conversation. Today I had the corned beef benedict. The eggs were Michelin star perfect. The country potatoes were cooked expertly. In my experience, if you order the hash browns, they come out white and underdone and if you order crispy, they come out white and hard. This is the tiniest of dings. Just order the country potatoes if you like a little brownness. Service is friendly and street parking is fairly plentiful. Check it out if you are a cowboy or just want to eat like one. read more

This was our last stop on Witches Night Out. I love that the service was friendly and fantastic, the beer was cold and delicious, the atmosphere was appropriately" "spooky" and the vibe was come on in and stay a while. I like how spacious this spot is, and how the staff is isn't flustered by a larger crowd. I asked one of the hostesses for something for my friend to snack on while she waited for her Uber. She was so sweet, she said "Sure, I'll grab a few packs of soup crackers". The offer was incredibly kind, and I wouldn't have even had the nerve to ask for free food if I wasn't a very buzzed little witch! Hashbrowns and sourdough toast had a little something to be desired. Linguiça and eggs breakfast was also on the menu and was well prepared and tasty. Coffee was good. Love this place! My friend and husband prefer the regular table seating versus the high tables. I walked ahead of them and the hostess remembered me and not only sat us right away at a low top table but asked after my husbands health! What a home town atmosphere. Would I go back maybe for a burger. This was our first time here. I had the corn beef hash which was very small. It came with eggs a little thing of cornbeef and 2 pieces of toast and a small amount of potatoes. The corned beef hash was just cornedbeef and no hash . Just a small portion of corned beef . My husband had the omelet. Potatoes and a pancake . He to said the portions were very small. With tip and because we had coffee.It cost fifty two dollars. Not worth it. Don't go here. I might only come back to have a burger.I haven't tried it yet so we'll see. The portions might be small too. Waitress was not very good waitress.She didn't come back and really check on us.Other people bought our food. I think she checked on us once. read more

Been a while since I've had the chance to eat at The Riata and still really enjoy the experience. Lunch with friends outside today in this wonderful weather. Grilled Cheese on sourdough with added tomato and bacon. What a joy. Good serving size and well made sandwich. Good number of side options; I chose cottage cheese. Service is attentive but also did not over check in as we were clearly in deep conversation. The ambiance here if it's well into our city's rodeo/cowboy heritage. 2 stars due to being REALLY disappointed that we put our name for party of 2 on list for 30 minute wait and a party of 5 who arrived 5 minutes before we were finally seated were seated before us and FULLY served and done well before we got served. There were several 2-4 person tables available when we were finally seated. Our servers and another we talked to were very friendly. We tried the breakfast shot - Jamison followed by OJ followed by bacon. I'm not a drinker but this was good. Still waiting for burger and bfast order so I'll update re: food when it arrives. ETA: Food was ok. My burger was supposed to be medium well and it was definitely very well done. Fries could've been cooked a little longer. Breakfast was decent (2 eggs, sausage patty, hash browns with side of 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy) but not a reason to come back. Especially after realizing a party of 2 seated after us were also served and done before we got our food. Again, servers were very friendly, so no complaint with any of them. We did wait at least 15 mins after our dishes were cleared to receive our bill (after I had to ask for it). Otherwise, as a 25 year Livermore resident, I'm very disappointed. read more

I always think it's a good idea to coach your customers because your employees were obviously the ones who are paying your bills?
