If you're in Wynwood and craving some incredible Mexican food, you have to check out this new spot! We went with a large group and got to try a little bit of everything. The food was outstanding-everything from the queso and elotes to the Tuna Poke Stack was packed with flavor. Even the health-conscious folks in our + group (myself included) were impressed with the chicken lettuce wraps, ceviche rojo, Mexican Kale salad and the perfectly cooked salmon. The short rib birria and lobster tacos were absolutely to die for, and I almost forgot to mention if you like spicy ask for the suicide sauce --it was fire! We also tried a variety of margaritas, and honestly, I can't even pick a favorite because they were all delicious. We didn't order a single bad dish, and I can't wait to go back because everything on the menu sounds amazing. The location is perfect, with a great atmosphere, and we lucked out because they were playing the UFC fight while we were there. We went just as happy hour was ending so I didn't think we would be able to partake in it, but, Lara, our hostess/server said we still had 8 minutes . We ordered the tacos, 4 of them, one of each kind. At first, I thought they were small, but don't let the size fool you. The flavor is BIG! They had a special, chicharon tostada, which was very delicious! Chef Tulio came out to chat with us and mentioned to try the nachos next time, which was actually one of the things we thought about ordering but was just getting super-stuffed with all of the deliciousness he made. We walked in the place and saw no employees. Only a few straggler customers....There's a whole hostess station with NO hostess . Okkkkk. We proceeded into the restaurant and found one man working the bar that told us we could sit anywhere. Okkkkk. The place is new and I'll be honest it's in a nice spot, decor inside is nice, but the customer service is that of a funeral home . The waiter had zero personality. When we tried asking him about the menu, it was like we were bothering him. Usually people ask if it's your first time here and then take the time to explain the menu and what they have to offer. Not him, he was dryer than a Popeyes biscuit. All the drinks came in the same exact glass and in some cases taste the same with different names. The food was meh and the drinks were ok . We got wings (that was good) elotes (also good) the nachos were bland and COLD. Mind you that took the longest to come out because it was being made. Once it hit the table it was so cold, the melted cheese was hard. I didn't know that was possible for a restaurant. The main course once again was a hard no!! I heard Bar Tulio's recently opened so a few girlfriends and I went in on a Wednesday night to try out some tacos and margaritas. I was actually blown away with how delicious the food was! I was not expecting everything to be as good as it was. We got the ceviche rojo which was reminiscent of a Vuelve a la Vida, the sauce was excellent, not sweet, perfectly zesty. The lobster salad tacos were uh-mazing! So much lobster! It was a chilled mix so felt clean and light but so flavorful, I could have eaten several. The shrimp lettuce wrap was also shockingly juicy and flavorful. Whatever broth or sauce was in them was so good. And then the birria short rib tacos...omg! The birria broth was actually perfection. Lastly the flan was the absolute perfect consistency. I got a spicy margarita, which was great and I could feel the effects, so they aren't weak. And lastly the location is beautiful! TERRIBLE SERVICE AND BAD/COLD FOOD. I saw an Instagram review on the restaurant by an influencer and the food looked great so I decided to give it a try. My childhood friend and I decided to double date with our wives. The restaurant was dead on a Saturday night so that was the first red flag. We ordered the wings which were great but overpriced. The server was extremely rude, un engaging and basically seemed like he didn't want to serve us by acting annoyed over every basic question we asked about the menu (I can only guess why). Besides the food the meal was very basic and cold. Drinks bad/uninspired and bill came up to a little under $400 with automatic tip even though service was horrific. I would never choose this restaurant when there are better Mexican options throughout Wynwood. The server needs to get re trained and reprimanded for his terrible service; he is causing the business to lose money. We were out with our wives so we decided to not make a fuss and talk to the manager. We left and got more drinks at GRAILS down the street. Great service by Shan'ti btw.
