Im going to be honest here because I actually gave this restaurant several chances prior to writing my review. The food is amazing. I have tried nearly everything on the menu and I can say it has all been consistent and always tastes fantastic. The only thing that always disappoints me with this restaurant is the staff. The manger is wonderful but a majority of the waitresses are very rude. I believe I have had one amazing waitress out of the at least 20 times I've been here. Everyone else has either been really rude or just doesn't care at all. Now when I say rude I don't mean some attitude, I mean them basically making me want to leave because I felt so uncomfortable. Thus, this place is AMAZING. I just wish the owner/manager whomever, would possibly discuss this with their staff.. read more

Everything was delicious. Waitstaff was asked 5 times for bread and oil. She said,"it's in the oven,"as other servers were bringing bread out. The mod brought bread, etc out. Mind you, these servers were serving people who came in after we had. Food presentation was excellent. read more

First off I wanna say this place is very beautiful on the inside but that's about it. The food is super overpriced for the portions, not to mention it really wasn't that good. This bar has a nice patio area but there's nothing to really look at you have condos all around everywhere. They try to go with the upscale Bloomfield Hills kind of restaurants that you would see but it's totally not it. We ordered drinks and they were super overpriced for the size that you get, My glass was about 3/4 of nothing but ice. We ordered appetizer and we got the calamari and zucchini. Calamari was delicious a little salty but the zucchini was over salted and they only gave us four slices. I mean it zucchini it's fairly cheap, so I don't know why we only got four. My wife got a salad it was really good I would probably say that was the best thing of the night. I got pizza but it was terrible, it was nothing but bread. For $16 I would prefer To get something from jet's and that's not saying much. Normally when you go to a restaurant like this to get pizza you're expecting something a little bit better than just a bunch of bread. Again overprice bread, my wife got the chicken Marcella which was really good also. She enjoyed it but I thought it was little dry even with the sauce. My personal opinion if you're trying to go for some Italian food because that's what this place is trying to do I would recommend going to Carrabba's. The food is better and so is the price. We went here tonight with our family. Everything was delicious. We ordered the salmon, short ribs, chicken marsala, and cheese ravioli. All good. We tried the donuts and flourless chocolate cake for dessert. All good. The restaurant itself is very comfortable and welcoming. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Everything I have had there has been delicious. It's a little on the higher end price-wise but worth it. The calamari is outstanding!

Went on New Year's Eve restaurant wasn't even crowded ordered a fillet which turned out good but the vegetables were so burnt you couldn't even tell what they were the side salad had two tomatoes on it both of them were rotten we told the waitress and she said oh I'll talk to the cook and that was it there's nothing on the salad but the two rotten tomatoes over priced would not go back again. read more

I felt obligated to leave this review due to the sheer lack of 5 star reviews for this place on here. I read all of them before our first meal (yesterday) at the Bar Verona that just opened in Washington, MI and I have to admit, I lowered my expectations based on them. I'm happy to say our experience was exceptional and I'll definitely be back. We made a 6:30pm reservation online and arrived at the restaurant at 6:30pm sharp. We were seated immediately, even though the place was packed (this was a Saturday night). Huge plus for appropriate time management. Clean menu, solid options but not too many. All the pastas are homemade. We opted for the burrata crostini appetizer to start. It was solid. There was a bit too much of the Balsamic glaze for my liking, but I just scraped it off and enjoyed. For entrees, my wife did the potato gnocchi with truffle cream sauce and I ordered the braised short rib. The gnocchi: first, let me say that we are gnocchi people. My wife's grandma makes it and we've ordered it everywhere from Tuscany to NYC. We can be a bit difficult to please when it comes to gnocchi. This was one of the best, if not the best, gnocchi that I've ever had. It was incredibly soft and melted in our mouths. I love non-tomato sauce options with gnocchi and the truffle cream is a home run. Not overly truffle-y and not too heavy. I'll have a hard time revisiting here and ever not ordering a gnocchi for the table. The short rib: just an overall incredible entree. The meat was cooked to perfection, fall apart tender, and perfectly salty. It came with herb polenta (which was a nice change of pace from mashed potatoes) and charred broccolini. My only criticism would be that the broccolini could've been cooked a bit more, but it was flavorful and I enjoyed it. For dessert, we tried both the cremespresso and the lemon cake. Both were superb. The cremespresso is essentially a frosty with a delicious hint of espresso. The lemon cake was tart and not overly sweet, perfectly delectable. Our server was attentive, we were asked if we wanted more drinks before the glasses were empty and the wait times were appropriate for all courses. We weren't offered any specials. I'm not sure if this is because they didn't have any or if our server just forgot, but I did find that surprising. We were seated at a small table right next to a wait staff stand that held appetizer plates. That would be my only complaint. The coming and going of staff to this stand was a bit intrusive on the atmosphere, but we were literally the only table affected by this, so it's not an issue you're likely to experience. All in all, a wonderful dining experience and a much needed addition of a high end dining option in an area where the prospects are limited. Looking forward to our next visit! read more

We dined last night and the chicken Marsala was so tough it was inedible. They did make me another one and one piece of chicken was substantially better and the other was still tough. I definitely wouldn't consider it Marsala either. More of chicken in a cream Sauce. My husband ordered filet that was over cooked but he is not one to complain and has no problem eating well done filet. For a $40 steak it should be cooked perfectly. Mashed potatoes were cold in the middle. I feel the food is overpriced for sub par quality. Can help but feel extremely disappointed for a $100 meal. read more

Amazing food and drinks. Recently raised their prices so now it it even more expensive, unfortunately. $14 for a martini and $18-20 for a basic pasta. Everything is really good but I don't think they should have raised prices when nothing else changed to the actual products or venue. read more

This restaurant is bizarre. My husband and I walked in on a Wednesday night. There was one couple on one side of the bar and one gentleman sitting on the other side. Many tables were empty. Possibly three tables were being used in the main bar area. We were greeted, as usual, with "do you have a reservation?" We did not. The greeter proceeds to tell us he has nothing available and that we could sit at the bar. I think my eyes may have popped out of my head as I looked around at all of the empty tables. Again bizarre! We sat at the bar for a few minutes, tried to look at the dull small printed menu and decided to leave. We did not want to sit at the bar. We wanted to sit at least one of the MANY empty tables and enjoy a night out. Management may need to do some additional training with the employees at the door. We will not be back. read more

We went to Bar Verona to celebrate our parent's birthdays, and had a wonderful time! The food was fabulous! The desserts were outstanding! Everyone enjoyed their meal. It was not too loud to carry on a conversation. The manager Dave was very personable as he came around to each table asking if anyone needed anything. From there we had a very nice education on the history of the restaurant and future plans. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Bar Verona is a peanut-free restaurant which was a bonus for us as my nephew has severe peanut allergies. It was a terrific experience, can't wait to come in the summer when the patio will be open, we will definitely be back and tell others about it. read more

This is a gorgeous, swanky new place that I think we are lucky to have in Washington Twp!!! It's definitely the hoppin' place to see and be seen. Oh... the bar fills up fast on the weekends so you really need to make reservations!! The entire place has an energetic vibe to it... My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to get in without a reservation and had the calamari (yes, please) and the tuna appetizer (yummm)... I had the number 8 craft cocktail. Loved everything except the bugs... we sat inside because we didn't want to be stuck outside in the humid weather with bugs all over our food. They had the door opened which I understand but the night was very humid and it caused a bad odor inside and lots of bugs. We sat inside for a reason. Ruined our night a little. Other than that we loved it and would go back but not on a humid day that's for sure. read more

We have lived in the area for 5 years and this is hands down the best food I've eaten here. It was our Anniversary and they went out of their way to make us feel special. Our waitress, Bree, was informative and welcoming. I had the branzino and it was amazing! My husband ordered Giuseppi's pasta and I had plate envy as well. I will be eating his leftovers tomorrow! The biggest surprise was the cocktail (#6) with tequila, lime, and several other ingredients. It ended with a peppery kick. I was in heaven. I came here with a reservation and was seated rather quickly with my party of 2...the tables for 2 are pretty awkward and in the middle of everything which I did not enjoy. We got the bread with our meal which was strange. Cocktail was not horrible but expensive for a weak drink. My entree of fetttunice alfredo with marinara was tasty, I enjoyed the fresh herbs sprinkled in the mix. Overall good atmosphere minus the table setup, overpriced drinks but really good food! Saw this brand new place was open and stopped in for a drink and an appetizer with my friend. Ordered a glass of Chardonnay without specifying brand. $12 for a 4 oz pour of house wine which wasn't even that good. Calamari was extremely chewy. Flavor profile was good though. Second visit on Valentines Day, which was also my birthday. I was a bit afraid that on such a popular day to eat out, it would be a disappointment. We were seated right away, even though we were a bit early for our reservation. We knew what we wanted because the Fillets were so perfect last visit, we had been craving another one since then! Laura was our sever, and she is amazing, just the right amount of attention. I ordered the #13 drink on the menu, Verona Martini, so delicious! It has Vanilla Vodka, Godiva White Chocolate Liquor, Kahlua, and fresh brewed espresso. The food came out perfectly cooked and seasoned, the steak melted in your mouth. We had the Tiramisu and a skillet brownie dessert that they may be adding to the regular menu also. Couldn't imagine a better meal, but plan ahead and don't even try to go without a reservation. I'm sure lunch is not as busy, but to be sure, just call ahead. It's not a big place. read more

Our first time to BAr Verona and we will definitely be back! The whole Branzino was spectacular and the guys loved the salmon although the verdict on the Caesar salad was ok. The meatball appetizer was so creamy and Moissan with the ricotta baked in! And the Crostini melted in your mouth. We had a 8:30 reservation and were not seated until almost 10! After several complaints the manager sent over appetizers but it didn't help. Our waitress was awful- we had to leave our table to get another round of drinks because she never returned. Our table was a mess the better part of our visit. We had terrible experience with carry out. Ordered 1/2 chicken, it was not 1/2 of a chicken. Menu said it came with vegetables, but person on phone said we had to pay $4 for vegetables. When we pointed out what menu said, were told vegetables were included, but no vegetables when we picked up order. Portions were very small for price.We ordered tomato basil soup, but they called back and said not available because it was terrible. Got minestrone but it was tasteless. We decided to give Bar Verona another shot and I am glad we did. Food and service was very good this time, as we had an excellent overall dinner and no issues whatsoever. The tuna crudo for an appetizer was the best I have ever had, very fresh and tasteful. The arugula salad had just the right amount of dressing and cheese. For our entree, I had the Branzino and my wife had the salmon. Both were cooked perfectly and were very good, the full Branzino was deboned flawlessly.
