Place is small, feels like a family dinner, service is excellent... all associates attentive and very friendly. Music and ambience is great. We absolutely love this small quaint restaurant. We pulled up on a Saturday, didn't have a reservation, but highly recommend because there is a band, but we were greeted cordially and seated within 10 minutes. That's lucky because it was crowded. The food is tasty and the cocktails are pricey, but that's Cali any where. We also went back for an early lunch/dinner just this past Friday. And it didn't disappoint. The staff are friendly and eager to tell you their favorites and the truth about the food, what's best and especially if your a first timer. Try this place if you're ever in Palmdale, Ca area. Run, don't walk! I can't tell you how happy I was to see Jeff when we walked in, as the last time has been a few years back with another restaurant. He was always the best! The ceviche appetizer is fabulous so much better than it used to be. You can see from the photo that's it served in a wide open phone and the chunks of shrimps it into delicious sources which was Nixon eaten with a shrimp are absolutely incredible. And who doesn't love sweet pickled onions? Empanadas are absolutely fabulous and you have to try those from appetizer menu for the delicious salad sauce that comes with them. It's hard to see if I like the chicken or beef better but I think maybe beef slightly edges the other out, but they are both great! I love that sauce on the empanada. I love the white rice when I order extra garlic Mojo oil on the side and pour that crushed garlic and oil all over it and add some extra salt, wow! The other thing I should talk about is the beans... It might be fair to say that I generally hate beans, but what they serve here is super flavorful and definitely something I enjoy eating, so don't be afraid to try them even if you're like me and don't like beans. Mr. Picky's favorite on the menu, and maybe mine as well, is the side of sweet fried plantains, something Mr. Picky orders and then orders another plate, and another plate. The Cuban flan for dessert is a creamier version than what you're used to and really quite delicious. We love the espresso cake but unfortunately they ran out before we ordered. I drink the Australian ginger beer during the meal and then finish at the end with the sweet Cordadito, a hot cupful, while Mr. Picky enjoys the iced cold version. We shared an entree today, the Tour De Cuba which is really for two people. More than we could eat. A nice way to try three things of your choice. Our family and friends enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Baracoa last night. The food is incredible, I highly recommend the empanadas, ceviche and ox tail. Each dish was full of flavor and the service was top notch. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and modern. Recently came with family and enjoyed our time. There was notice of a 3% charge on the bill after we paid. My family asked about it because we didnt see anything up so we asked the server and he didnt know where to find the 3% charge information. Came in from a long day of driving. Even if you don't usually drink much, you owe it to yourself to enjoy either of the special Cuban cocktails on the menu; definitely the finest crafted adult beverages I've had in years. My wife loved the Sangria as well. The food was very meat-centric, but the Cuban sampler gave us a chance to sample the beef, pork and chicken. All the seasonings were different and delicious; I would have to say that the chicken stood above. Maybe my favorite part of the entire experience though was the live music on a Saturday night. Great Ambiance! I've eaten here a few times, but this was my first time eating at the their newly constructed patio! There's something about eating outside that heightens the dining experience, but it's 10x better when it's esthetically pleasing. Love the flooring and furniture selection, it turned out beautiful. And may I add this is the best (and probably the only) patio in the AV for dining. I love outdoor dining and I'm glad we finally have that option here. As for the food...5 stars! My son and I happened to be in the area with an hour to kill so we walked in for lunch. It was 2pm and very quiet. It's not a huge space inside but it's well laid out and they mKe beautiful use of the outdoor seating as well. Service was super prompt and polite. My son is a high functioning young adult with Autism so sometimes he has a hard time making up his mind. He decided on a sandwich and made some modifications which were accepted super graciously. I highly appreciate when people showy son some grace and patience. We both got sandwiches and garlic fries... my goodness. My wife & I love Baraccoa Cuban Restaurant. We are always willing to make the drive the Santa Clarita to Palmdale for some good Cuban food! The food is always full of flavor, the waitstaff is very accommodating & the atmosphere is perfect. The dining room is a little small, but we love it because it makes the experience much better vs being in an overcrowded dining room. Tonight I had the Bistec Empanizado, it was amazing! I love the flavor of the breaded steak with the rice & beans. I also love the pickled onions, so that's a big plus for me. My wife had the Pargo Al Mojo since she's a big fish eater & she absolutely loved the snapper! For my wife & I one of our favorites is always the fried plantains. They are always perfectly cooked & so delicious! They go perfect with every meal. My boys had the Baracoa Cubano, which they both really liked. My youngest had the kids chicken tenders & for a picky eater, he really liked them. For desert we had a slice of the Espresso Chocolate Fudge Cake for the boys. My wife & I split the Cafe Ahogado. I was in the mood for some good Cuban food on this beautiful Monday. I dread having to drive all the way down to Los Angeles for some good food with flavor so I checked on Yelp and BAM! I was able to find a place in Palmdale, opposite of traffic, constant braking and the stress of just sitting on the freeway. I digress. I arrived to the eatery located in an medical shopping center. You would never know it was here. What a hidden gem, I almost want to keep it a secret. Parking: Ample parking available. Located pretty close to the Antelope Valley Mall. As you walk up to the location it is very inviting with the mini palm trees and the stone trail. With pure intention I arrived shortly after opening to avoid crowds to have a more intimate dining experience. I was directed to a cozy booth in the corner. Love the red decor and all the beautiful paintings inside. Bathroom: Very clean and smelled very nice The waitstaff was pleasant and friendly. Available immediately when needed. Now to the food: Papas Rellenas: Outside crispy, inside soft mashed potatoes with meat filling. The flavor was good, wished there was more filling. That would take it to the next level Surf and Turf: Oxtail and Shrimp- Oxtail were tender and delicious. The shrimp were a great size and cooked perfectly. Rice: I was shocked just looking at it can fool you as a typical white steamed white rice. OMGOODNESS! When you put that rice in your mouth, your taste buds are going to dance! The flavor used to bring this rice together was amazing! Do not sleep on that rice. Black Beans: Wonderful addition to compliment the meal, perfect Cuban seasoned beans which are one of my favorites. Fried Plantains- Amazing! They are thick sliced, sweet (ripe) and the glaze on these beautifies caused a party to take place in my mouth. I could eat a whole plate of those alone. This meal alone can feed two people comfortably. Tour De Cuba: It comes with 3 meat options and I chose the following : Lechon Asado- Juicy shredded beef. I had so much food left over , I ended up using this in burritos for the hubby, when I got home and He LOVED the meat. Pollo Encendido: Tender chicken thigh meat with great flavor as well. Vaca Frita- Now this crispy beef was the star of the show to me! I can eat an entire plate of this too, throw it on a bed of their rice or beans to make my day. The entire trip was lovely and worth it! Support this small but popular location. They not only survived during the pandemic by providing quality take out adapting to the new normal.
