This was my first time wrong here and the food was good. The customer service was amazing. Even though the line was long they staff worked very efficiently to meet the needs of customers. I'll leave it at this - When it comes to Barberitos on Gay street, the first word that comes to mind is lackadaisical. The 2024 Summer staff was well put together. Hard workers, true connections to customers, and a consistent positive attitude on a day to day basis. It's safe to say the for the last year something has spiraled downhill. Super great food! I got the chicken salad bowl. All the toppings were fresh and they didn't hold back on the portions. The cheese dip was delicious!! The good - Barberitos kills on their entrees! Their chicken, beef, and sides are hands-down superior to their local competitors (you know who). Fantastic! The bad - their delivery system is broken, often leaving off guacamole, queso dip, and also sauces. This may seem small, but they add up quick! I've overlooked it more than once, but what drove me to this review was I finally decided to call the restaurant. I asked for the missing sides to be delivered or credited back. I would like to take a moment to highlight the phenomenal service and food I experienced today at this location. I came in around 4:00-4:30 and was greeted by friendly smiles from two employees who were more than willing to go the extra mile to make this such a fantastic visit. Hudson took and made my order. He made the absolute best burrito bowl I have ever had in my entire life! The absolute precision and attention-to-detail was something you can only dream of when looking for an employee. His friendly customer service skills were absolutely superb and made the visit so special! Once my burrito bowl was completed, Kaden prepared me a bag of chips and rang me up. He, too, was absolutely incredible! He made sure that I was aware that I could get complementary salsa from the salsa bar. How lucky was I to get such exemplary service from both employees! I was very eager to tip them after the INCREDIBLE service I had! Once I got home, and ate my meal I couldn't believe how amazing it was. The chips that were fried to the perfect color, the guacamole that was seasoned just right, the spicy chicken that had the perfect amount of flavor, the salsas that were the cherry on top, how can you ask for anything better? I especially want to give a shout-out to Hudson and Kaden. They were both incredibly friendly and attentive, and they went above and beyond to make sure that I had a great meal. This was my first time ever at a Barberitos and because of them specifically, I will definitely be back to Barberitos again soon and recommend it to all my friends and family. Got a call from the owner about the bad service experienced about a month back. I went back 2-3 times since then for this location and noticed a marked change! Food was already great, they just needed to work on the service and teamwork. This has made a turnaround in my opinion so I would highly recommend this location for lunch or dinner if you are in the area. read more

Went to this new burrito joint in front of the Auburn Mall and was not disappointed! I had the chicken burrito in a chipotle tortilla. Every meal comes with free fresh made chips and a handmade salsa bar. They have a number of tortilla choices, can make you a quesadilla, burrito, or bowl, too. I didn't try the queso, but I'll be sure to on my next trip. There were a number of fresh ingredients you don't always see at other burrito places, with lots of veggies, salsas, and sauces to add to your entrée. The staff was friendly and the environment is very clean. They also have fast WiFi if you're there for a work lunch break. The chips and salsa were a highlight, though I do wish there was a hotter option in the bunch. read more

Okay, so I was ready to write a poor review of this business based on wait time for ordering (15 minutes with only two customers ahead of me). Work flow behind the counter was......well, not sure what it was. Regardless, upon being ready to check out, the owner/manager stepped in and apologized for my wait time. I then heard him apologize to everyone else in line. He actually made it a point to later come over and apologize again and asked me to come back. The food was EXCELLENT and the owners genuine apology for the wait time (due to a large call in order) was more than enough to win me over. I highly recommend this business. read more

I visit this location of Barberitos frequently and usually have a great experience all around. A few times lately I have been between the hours of 7 and 8:30 PM and was disappointed in the selection of food options. One time in particular I went in and there was no chicken, spicy chicken, or steak. Many cold toppings were also out. I understand if it was closer to closing time, but there were about 8 people in line behind me, and I was surprised that no other food was being cooked. In order to maintain a positive rating and quality food, it is important to have the three most popular base meats. My food was fine even though it wasn't what I originally ordered. According to reviews the food seems tasty but upon walking in, there wasn't anyone behind the counter. There was one girl still cleaning tables while we stood at the counter but never greeted us nor acknowledged our presence. She cleaned a few tables then went behind the counter to wash her hands..(still no greeting). As she was washing her hands we decided to leave as the environment seemed a bit hostile and we did not feel welcome. We were the only minorities in the facility so idk if they are racists or what. I am a VERY LOYAL Barbarito's customer. Love the place. I live in the Columbus / Phenix City area and they never fail to produce a fresh delicious meal. I went to the Auburn location last night and was SO disappointed. The bar area where they prepare the food was a mess. All the food (meat stations) were open and the meats looked dried out - except the chicken. I always get steak but didn't dare it looked so bad. Got the chicken. It was very disappointing. The staff was uninterested and the chips were STALE. Can't say I will never go back because I know this is not normal for them but I hope they don't allow this to continue else they will lose business. read more

But, Barberito's catered a work lunch for us earlier this week and it was really good. So, we decided to try it today. It was fantastic!! We lived in California for 20 years and got spoiled on really good Mexican food. If fact, there isn't a single place in the Auburn/Opelika area that go for Mexican. When we eat Mexican, we go to Atlanta. However, I told my husband that this was the best burrito that I've had since we left San Francisco and I know we'll be back. All of the ingredients they use are so fresh and flavorful!! And, they have unlimited supply of the freshest, thinest chips we've had since CA and they were delicious. They have a salsa bar with several tasty selections, too. I ordered my burrito with fresh avocado and cilantro and both were delicious. So, the bottom line is - we now have a 'go to' place in Auburn for Mexican food. read more

I ordered a vegan burrito with tofu and There was only one tiny piece of tofu in my burrito. The rest was rice and beans along with grilled peppers and onions which completely over powered any other taste in the burrito. Otherwise, it was a good size and very filling. I just wish there had been more tofu and whatever they use to sauté the peppers and onions wasn't so overpowering. read more
