Been a while since visiting this spot, and when i was in the mood for a tasty burrito bowl, they were my go to! Since my last visit, the staff is still much better than in my earlier visits, more coherent, and less in a "haze". Food here is always good, you get to build your own burrito, bowl, quesadilla, tacos, whatever you're having, as you go down the line. You can add as many toppings as you like, and avoid ones you don't, some toppings do cost more, but pricing is always pretty fair. The portions are good, and pricing is pretty fair. Barbs is one of my favorite quick service restaurants and has been since I was in college. The food and staff are always above par especially at this location. I recently took my daughter for the first time. Let's just say, Barbs has a new fan! She ordered the kid's quesadilla and the staff were so great interacting with her. She's new to ordering on her own (she's 3) and they were great to listen and ask questions to her. It made her feel special and grown up. My sidekick has asked to go back several times. This is the first and last time I go to this particular location. I have enjoyed the other locations in the past. They have offered tufu while I was a vegetarian for six years. At about 3:40 pm, on 3/2/2021, we come into the empty restaurant. Three African American people were down the counter hanging out. Finally, one lazily meanders to the cashier. With some jester and few mumbled words, he indicated he was ready for me. I asked for a burrito for me, and a taco for my wife. I think he said "beans and rice?" Then I asked for tofu, and he said "all outa that" Since I ended my vegetarian diet, I got the turkey that I did not know was offered. When we got to the cashier, the hardware seemed not to be working. All he did was put out his hand, indicating he would take my card and provess it for me. As soon as he returned my card, he turned around and walked away. No receipt was given. The sandwiches were left in foil, and a bag with chips. I was not asked about salsa, and it was not given. I received no dish, pan, basket or tray. The place was dirty, and inappropriate music was playing. Shortly after we finished our stingy portions, we left. Shorty after I drove my car down the short distance to the grocery store, I got out out, vomited, and began having a bowel movement in my pants. I made it to the supermarket rest room, finished my diarrhea, and discarded my underpants. I was not feeling well enough, so had to use a motorized scooter to do my shopping. Typical fresh Mexican food options. This location is fairly busy and dominated by the college crowd from HPU. Food is fresh and the line goes fast. Seating can be hard at rush times. Takeout is my usual go to here. They pack it securely and it's still warm by the time I get home. Solid choice if in the area. Salsas are good but I think I prefer the ones at chipotle. Either way no complaints here. My favorite go to. Salad or burrito bowl with no wrap. Load it with salad, beans and either the grilled chicken or steak. Load with all your favorite veggies and top with salsa. They give you the nice crisp chips. Win! read more

This place is always good. Every time I've been here I've had good service and had an excellent meal. Me and my friend both got burrito bowls; mine was steak and hers chicken. I'd highly recommend a burrito bowl. Hey, I'd really recommend anything on the menu!! While I highly recommend the Barberitos on Eastchester Drive at Heron Village, I'm still having trouble with this location on Eastchester. Because I have never been impressed with this location, I visit it once about every 6-12 months just to see if they have improved because I'm always hoping they will. However, there's always something a miss. Last week at lunch (11:45am), they had no sour cream and it's rather difficult for me to eat a quesadilla without it. They also had no tea which is a big no-no. No sweet tea and no unsweet tea... both urns empty. They waited on probably 20 customers before brewing more tea. That means none of those customers were able to have tea either. I was able to get a very hot cup 2 minutes before I finished my meal. My meal was tasty with no complaints there. The place seems to have gotten cleaner since I last visited which is good. The floors are not quite as greasy slippery as they have been in the past (I have almost fallen numerous other times). But, something is always off here. I'll probably try it again in a few months and will post an update. Until then, Heron Village it is! read more

This is a really good place to stop. It's like a Moes but so much better. We both ordered the Mexican style salad and it was really good and there was plenty of it. The place is small and gets packed fast. We walked in right before the crowd hit. If your in High Point and want some fast food Mexican this may be your place. The food is great. My problem is that I order the same meal each time and the price is different each time. They are getting worse with service and being very light on the servings. I asked to have more chicken and getting an infant amount the first time. Asked for my veggies to be sautéed but 15 seconds doesn't make it sautéed but just warmed up. I used to love this place and I wish I knew what happened. Did the management change? We went in and the person making the food was wearing disgusting clothes and they were out of black beans. They were not busy, we were the only ones there so I'm confused why they wouldn't be working to remedy the situation. I mean how am I getting introduced to this place this late in the game? Firstly the taste here surpasses any of the competitors in this space. This blows chipotle out the water. The options are undoubtably better as well. You can choose tortilla types, burrito sizes, etc. the protein options are much wider and TASTIER. On top of that the small options like being to add extra sauces or even cilantro to each order is a critical addition. This makes the ability to fine tune the flavor to your liking that much better. There cantina chips are thin, crispier, and that perfect level of salty paired with the salsa bar options. There no doubt here, this place kills the competition. read more

This is my go to burrito place in High Point, NC. Coming from a place (Georgia) where the chain was founded, it was a good sight to see this. Food was good, I enjoy spicy chicken and Mexican Tex Mex. they packed my spice for me. I was disappointed at the staff through. No one was cleaning tables so people kept coming in and looking around and then walking right back out the door. Losing customers this way is the easiest thing to fix. Coming from San Diego, which is pretty much the mexican food capital of the U.S., I'm pretty picky when it comes to my treats from across the border. Barberitos is yet another chain like Baja Fresh, Chipotle, etc. that offers up generic, pedestrian mexican to the masses. You walk in and get served here by a kid who seemingly has had 3 Red Bulls right before their shift. It can be cool at times to really talk to them, annoying at other times. They take you through an assembly line (spinach tortilla, or whole wheat, etc., beef or chicken, what veggies, etc.) and then you pay. I had a skinny burrito, with beef, and my hands had some weird smell to it that I couldn't extract for hours. It was a nasty beef hybrid smell that had no authenticity to it. I went through half a bottle of hand sanitizer before the smell finally dissipated. The burrito wasn't something I would order again. The only "cool" thing about this place was that I got a burrito for my friend at work which made him turn a color of red that Crayola crayons has not yet invented. He's a younger, tough guy, and asked for it hot so I had Red Bull guy happily absolutely load the hot peppers on there. "Yeah, bro, yeah, bro, load that sh** on there," the guy was getting really excited as he planted pile upon pile of Jalapenos on there. When I finally presented it to my friend back at work, this burrito was basically a giant jalapeno seed with some rice and a little beef that was the size of a football. He made it half-way through and then his face became a bright red and he began sweating profusely. Don't get mad at me, he said he wanted it hot, so he got it hot. The look on my friend's face was worth 2 stars, but that's about it. There are alot of chain type restaurants in this area, and this is yet another one, but what do you expect with mexican food in North Carolina? Barberitos is awesome, I cannot say that enough. I am a local college student and I miss Barberitos when I am home. I always get the fatty burrito with their fantastic guacamole but they have everything you would expect from a Tex-Mex kind of place. The obvious comparison here is Moe's but I don't think there really is an argument, Barberitos takes the cake, they are not even in the same realm. If you are thinking about going to Moe's, reconsider and go to Barberitos, you will be glad you did. read more

This was my first visit and truly, I was just in the mood for a good burrito. This place was hopping and the line was nearly out of the door. We jumped right in anyway because we were ready to get our grub on. The line moved fast. I'm mean...VERY fast. We were impressed with the line of 3-4 guys putting together everyone's order. The guys working the line were very professional and polite and really seemed to be enjoying their job. I had a half steak and half chicken burrito and that thing was massive! At there for the first time last night and completely NOT impressed. I had to keep reminding the guys on the line what I had ordered, as they were leaving ingredients out and then the exact same thing happened with my boyfriend's order. We ordered standard menu items so it should have been simple. The tofu on my vegan burrito was like chewing your own tongue--so hard and chewy-blech! When we sat down to eat (ate at the restaurant) the burrito and the chips were cold, so needless to say we didn't enjoy ourselves. I don't think we'll be going back...which is sad because the menu was really exciting for us, but the service and food left a lot to be desired. read more

Honestly barbs used to be my favorite place to eat but I think I'm taking a break. Having to wait 20-30 min in line is ABSURD esp on a 1 hour lunch break. The employees move soooo slow and act like we don't have anywhere to be. The food is still good...compared to a few months ago when you didn't know if It would be good or disgusting...but feeling rushed thru your lunch is not a pleasant experience.
