Bar culture is a new hip bar on Tulane Ave about a block off Carrolton Ave. I visited the bar on a Sunday night. The bartender was really nice and smiley. She seemed like she was trying to have a good time and it was nice to see that. There were two instances where she messed up my drink, giving me a beverage I didn't order. I'm not really sure why she did this, but I am guessing its because the music was WAY too loud and she couldn't hear what I was telling her. The place is a bar, not a club, so I feel like the volume could have been turned down a few notches. The vibe was really chill at Bar Culture that night. People were playing Connect 4 and Jenga. Others were just talking (or yelling, really) and enjoying good drinks. The food was not good. The chicken tenders were soft and it was the strangest thing. The french fries were not the best. They were over-seasoned and the texture made them feel like they were either undercooked or not properly thawed. Although they were out of 2 of them that night, their signature cocktails were really good. The Duse-Rita was my favorite.

Our experience was made by mixologist Stacy and hookah mistress meagan lol. Really kool chill atmosphere. We arrived early so were able to get a seat at the bar, because there is no seating but bar & vip. Had a few hiccups getting in like hard rain made bathrooms backup, but there is definitely a 'culture' that was doable. Not many masks, guess we are assuming vaccination?? The food though made me take the last star.....eat before you go.

This is the Couches for the VIP SECTION!.I purchased 4 Express Entry 's. And still had to stand OUT IN THE RAIN.

The food was great and the lamb chops was the best part of the meal, I highly recommend food full of flavor. Drinks were amazing and I wish I remembered the server name she was perfect, very attentive and gave us great recommendations aka the lamb chops.

We had reservations on a Saturday night and were seated almost immediately. As we passed the bar I noticed they had a huge bourbon selection which is always cool. I ordered a "Well She Starts Monday" which is a cocktail made with Buffalo Trace, Cynar liqueur, and Fig Syrup. I was not a fan of this one, so I ordered an Old Fashioned for my second drink, and it was a little better. I got a Burrata for an appetizer which seemed like a caprese salad served with crispy bread triangles. This was really good. For an entree, I got Beef Wellington which until then I had never had. Mansplained, this is a steak cooked medium rare inside of a puff pastry with 2 different sauces on it. Phenomenally good! The atmosphere is really dark with low lighting, dark cherry wood everywhere. The music was bad and loud. If it was one or the other it would have been fine, but this was like if someone gave Yoko Ono glowsticks and said start and EDM band. The Husky is meant for a younger crowd. The food was 5 stars; the atmosphere and experience were probably more like 3 stars.

I got what they call an Intergalactic Snack Attack. This is basically a sampler platter of apps. It had 2 mac and cheese pancakes, 6 pizza rolls that looked like Chinese dumplings, and 4 PB&J wings. The pizza rolls were good, the Mac and cheese pancakes were ok, but the star of this show were the wings! They were tossed in a Strawberry pepper jelly and peanut dust and then they give you a peanut sauce to dip them in. These were great! During the week, the kitchen opens at 5pm and that's when we got there. At that time, we were probably the youngest people in there and I am damn near 50. I am more of a daytime/ early evening bar visitor these days, so it was perfect for me. The back courtyard area is very nice for those fall/spring days and the bar area inside seemed to have a lot of character. They also have a stage for live music and comedy shows. All of these areas are not very big, so it still has that neighborhood bar feel. They have a different food vendor on weekends, so you won't get these wings then. The bartender was friendly and fast, food was great and the atmosphere was chill. I will definitely be back for a full order of those wings.
