Bar culture is a new hip bar on Tulane Ave about a block off Carrolton Ave. I visited the bar on a Sunday night. The bartender was really nice and smiley. She seemed like she was trying to have a good time and it was nice to see that. There were two instances where she messed up my drink, giving me a beverage I didn't order. I'm not really sure why she did this, but I am guessing its because the music was WAY too loud and she couldn't hear what I was telling her. The place is a bar, not a club, so I feel like the volume could have been turned down a few notches. The vibe was really chill at Bar Culture that night. People were playing Connect 4 and Jenga. Others were just talking (or yelling, really) and enjoying good drinks. The food was not good. The chicken tenders were soft and it was the strangest thing. The french fries were not the best. They were over-seasoned and the texture made them feel like they were either undercooked or not properly thawed. Although they were out of 2 of them that night, their signature cocktails were really good. The Duse-Rita was my favorite.

Our experience was made by mixologist Stacy and hookah mistress meagan lol. Really kool chill atmosphere. We arrived early so were able to get a seat at the bar, because there is no seating but bar & vip. Had a few hiccups getting in like hard rain made bathrooms backup, but there is definitely a 'culture' that was doable. Not many masks, guess we are assuming vaccination?? The food though made me take the last star.....eat before you go.

This is the Couches for the VIP SECTION!.I purchased 4 Express Entry 's. And still had to stand OUT IN THE RAIN.

Had a great time at The Husky! This one has been on my list since January! Top to bottom, inside…read moreand out they nailed it. Clean, tiled entrance into an ambient waiting area where the white tile behind the bar beams light onto all of the accents of brass and warm wood throughout. Pops of green foliage soften the hard edges of an art deco decor. 4 of us nestled into a cozy booth where people watching was within reach, but reading light-not so much. Candles on tables, maybe? Gabriel our server did a good job and think he'll open up more, the more comfortable he gets. We went ape on the food-captions in my food pics attached. Steak tartare, bone marrow, lamb lollipops, rigatoni, grilled romaine, cheese and caviar-followed by wellingtons and short ribs. Never trust women that don't eat. We are definitely not those women! Bathrooms also were striking and clean. My one question; why the knit striped polos for staff? Servers appeared like misplaced footlocker employees. Interesting choice. Will be back to indulge in the malted ice cream dish when my tummy is prepared to take it on. ;)

I've been hearing a lot about this place so when I had some free time this weekend I decided to…read moregive it try. I was by myself so I sat at the bar, was immediately greeted by bar staff and given a glass of water and a menu. I decided to try the Lilac lover which is a gin-based drink. It was so good I eventually ordered a second one. I wasn't really hungry, was there just for vibes and a nice drink before I started my Saturday evening but I did decide to try their lamb lollipops appetizer. They were tasty but I wish they weren't breaded. This place has a great vibe for a girl's night, date, or group get togethers. Very pretty ambiance and great service. Everyone around me seemed to be pleased with their selections. I can't wait to go back and try for dinner.

I am sure seasonally this changes. I like it! Bartender was calm and nice. Its a locals spot to get some good beers or drinks. When we went in, we were not given a menu and did not see anyone order any food.

I got what they call an Intergalactic Snack Attack. This is basically a sampler platter of apps. It had 2 mac and cheese pancakes, 6 pizza rolls that looked like Chinese dumplings, and 4 PB&J wings. The pizza rolls were good, the Mac and cheese pancakes were ok, but the star of this show were the wings! They were tossed in a Strawberry pepper jelly and peanut dust and then they give you a peanut sauce to dip them in. These were great! During the week, the kitchen opens at 5pm and that's when we got there. At that time, we were probably the youngest people in there and I am damn near 50. I am more of a daytime/ early evening bar visitor these days, so it was perfect for me. The back courtyard area is very nice for those fall/spring days and the bar area inside seemed to have a lot of character. They also have a stage for live music and comedy shows. All of these areas are not very big, so it still has that neighborhood bar feel. They have a different food vendor on weekends, so you won't get these wings then. The bartender was friendly and fast, food was great and the atmosphere was chill. I will definitely be back for a full order of those wings.
