    Crispy mushrooms
    Leslie S.

Wow! We've been wanting to try The Husky for a while and finally made it there. The restaurant and bar area are absolutely gorgeous! We were quickly seated for our reservation. I had a cocktail that had fig in it that was very balanced and wasn't overly sweet. We decided to start off with crispy oyster mushrooms and their special mozzarella sticks. The oyster mushrooms were out of this world! I could have eaten a plate of those. The mozzarella sticks were really good as well. They're topped with caviar and some gold. For my main course I got the beef Wellington and it was very large and could have easily been split between 2 people. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I wish we had room for dessert because the choices sounded delicious.

The Husky is the Regina George's mom of steakhouses, it's not like a regular steakhouse, it's a cool steakhouse. Probably too cool for my 50-year-old ass. We had reservations on a Saturday night and were seated almost immediately. As we passed the bar I noticed they had a huge bourbon selection which is always cool. I ordered a "Well She Starts Monday" which is a cocktail made with Buffalo Trace, Cynar liqueur, and Fig Syrup. I was not a fan of this one, so I ordered an Old Fashioned for my second drink, and it was a little better. I got a Burrata for an appetizer which seemed like a caprese salad served with crispy bread triangles. This was really good. For an entree, I got Beef Wellington which until then I had never had. Mansplained, this is a steak cooked medium rare inside of a puff pastry with 2 different sauces on it. Phenomenally good! The atmosphere is really dark with low lighting, dark cherry wood everywhere. The music was bad and loud. If it was one or the other it would have been fine, but this was like if someone gave Yoko Ono glowsticks and said start and EDM band. The Husky is meant for a younger crowd. The food was 5 stars; the atmosphere and experience were probably more like 3 stars.

First let's start off with the ambience, the place is dark lit but in a good way it works very well either way the aesthetics of the place. The food was great and the lamb chops was the best part of the meal, I highly recommend food full of flavor. Drinks were amazing and I wish I remembered the server name she was perfect, very attentive and gave us great recommendations aka the lamb chops.

First time at The Husky and I was really impressed! We started with Tequila Sunrises--perfectly made. The lamb lollipop chops had a great crust, paired with a feta salad (cucumber, onion, feta) was super light and refreshing. I ordered the market fish (redfish with rice and broccoli), and honestly, it wasn't very flavorful--I wouldn't get it again. BUT my boyfriend's bison short rib with mac and cheese was a 10/10! Super tender, well seasoned, and the mac was creamy, cheesy, and topped with parmesan--definitely recommend. Even though my entrée missed the mark, the overall experience was still a 10/10. Service was top tier--ask for Allison! And don't forget to ask for a bathroom tour

The BEST Happy Hour in NOLA if looking for food and drink. They have the most delicious burgers in town that comes with handout fries and an Old Fashioned for $20 bucks. Beautiful decor with impeccable service. The fig gimlet was quite tasty too.

Visited The Husky for dinner with friends and it was a good dining experience. Service and food were good and met the expectations. For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Oysters and Roasted Bone Marrow. The Crispy Oysters were really good, I would definitely get it again. This was my first time trying Roasted Bone Marrow so I wasnt sure what to expect but it was okay, not a perferred dish for me but still really good. I ordered the Rigatoni A La Vodka and it was really yummy. Theres these crunchy bits they add on top that adds to the texture of the pasta and the pasta was perfectly cooked. There is a bathroom that has mirrors from the floor to the ceiling and its definitely a good photo op! The service was honestly amazing, did not hesitate to give recommendations when asked or assist us with anything. Definitely a place for anyone to check out and I would definitely come again!

The Husky was a wonderful surprise! I didn't even know about this restaurant until I discovered it on Yelp when I was looking for a new place to try in the Freret area. The reviews were pretty good and The Husky did not disappoint. Outside is super simple and if you didn't know you could easily walk right by and not realize that it was a restaurant. Once you step in though it's a completely different world with an ambiance and setting of a different era. Everything looked so cool, even the bathroom was worth taking a picture of! I came for happy hour so sat at the bar to get a burger and Old Fashioned special for $20. The happy hour was clearly very popular because the entire bar was filled by the time I left. The burger was good, not my favorite in the city, but satisfying. The fries and aioli were my favorite. And the Old Fashioned was made perfectly for my taste. And the price was pretty good! I did eye a few of the other menu items, like the Beef Wellington, but will have to try that next time I come by. Which I will definitely be coming back for everything. Service: Really good, there were several bartenders who was helping everyone. Drinks: Full bar with lots of options. Happy Hour: Yes, you should try it! Outside Seating: Not that I saw Parking: Street Parking

You get to choose your steak knife from a varied selection! Very neat concept.

The Husky is housed in a gorgeous space. I was taken aback by the floor to ceiling bar wall, the rich wood that envelopes the interior and the dark, sultry lighting. The dining pluses: My burger was delicious. The burrata appetizer is a must do. Our server was attentive and friendly. The minuses: My daughter's steak was very salty. Our Mac and cheese came out after we had finished eating so we requested that it be boxed up to go. The lady who delivered it to our table seemed moderately upset that we needed it boxed up. I didn't know if she expected us to sit there after we had finished our meal and just eat this Mac and cheese, or what. All in all, I really enjoyed my visit to The Husky and I'm sure I'll be back.

Amazing food!!! Everything was prepared with such detail and each dish was tastier than the previous. The art deco ambience is to die for. I especially love the mirrors in the bathroom. Our waitress was so knowledgeable and helpful in choosing what to order. Top tier service. I really appreciated how hands-on the manager was as well. He didn't just stand around, he helped his staff and was always scanning the room to see how he could assist. This place is not only beautiful, but the food is delicious and the production is flawless.

We had heard great things about The Husky and decided to experience it for ourselves--and it did not disappoint. We visited on a Saturday evening and found the atmosphere lively and inviting. The service throughout the night was exceptional. We began with two specialty cocktails: one featuring fig and the other lime. The bar staff even stopped by our table to ensure we were enjoying our selections, which was a nice touch. For appetizers, we chose the lamb chops, oysters and shrimp--all were outstanding. For our main courses, I ordered the Beef Wellington while my husband opted for the ribeye. Each dish was prepared perfectly and full of flavor. To finish, we shared the key lime dessert and the Old Fashion cake. Both were sweet without being overly rich, which we prefer. Overall, The Husky delivered an excellent dining experience. We will absolutely return, and I highly recommend you give it a try--you won't be disappointed. Oh yes, and don't miss the bathroom bourbon. You will understand when you visit them.

The Husky is giving Gatsby/20's vibe - great spot for date night or a few drinks. The staff here are friendly and the food is delicious! Favorites were crispy oyster mushrooms, French onion soup, and bison short rib. The crispy oyster mushrooms are lightly battered maitake or oyster mushrooms, drizzled with a rosemary garlic aioli. French onion soup was one of the best I've had and the bison short rib was tender and delicious with the sweet potato risotto. Would love to come back and check out more of the menu items like beef Wellington! PS - don't forget to take a bathroom break ;) most beautiful restroom I've seen!

Passed by this place many times and always wanted to try. Made a reservation for my husband's birthday. When you walk in you are greeted by the hostess. They give a complimentary champagne for birthdays. Everything on the menu looked great. We ordered the Burrata appetizer, French onion soup, beef wellington and lamb lollipops. Everything was delicious. Wellington was cooked perfectly. The lamb was excellent, seasoned nicely and cooked mid rare. My husband liked the French onion soup. The only thing I didn't care for was the Negroni I ordered. It was a bit more sweet and floral than I'm used to. The ambiance is like a speakeasy, dimly lit, vibey and cool. Head to the restrooms and you'll notice bourbon stations for complimentary tasting. Very classy. A great evening.

I absolutely love the Husky! Probably my most favorite for a special night. I thought I had previously reviewed them and added a ton of photos which I have now deleted but we recently went back so I'll add the new ones I have. I do recommend a reservation because they get busy. My preference is to go during Happy Hour when you can get their well Martini for $9. You can also get a burger, fries and Old Fashioned for $20, but this time I went with the small steak called the wennie and some of the most delicious Mac and cheese I've ever eaten, so creamy and cheesy with a little crunch of top. I have not see a dress code but I consider the place to be on the business casual side. Last time I did wear jeans but with a dressy top. Service is spot on too!

    Fried oysters! 10/10

We often use this as a stopping place to use the bathroom and figure out where we are going next. I like that they advertise they have plenty of bathrooms as there is nothing I hate more than a large brewery with one bathroom. We found this to be walking distance from our more tourist area hotel, but others may feel it is not, although I do believe its close to a bus line. This place has a nice vibe and friendly service. We visited pretty close to opening and it was not crowded. It looked like there was a nice outdoor seating area as well, but after the walk we were happy to be inside where it was cooler. I also appreciate being able to charge my phone while I drink my beer. I was a little sad that it was not open at the same time as the bagel place next door as I really wanted to check that out as well. They do acknowledge their focus is not food, but sounds like they have food trucks at times. Unfortunately I can't recall what beers we tried, but I am sure they were delicious.

I've used the descriptors of little, small, cozy, and let's throw in the word intimate. The bartender is also the emcee, and made introductions and gave some info. Mia Borders was super. Her songs are powerful, and great life stories. There is just enough amplification to highlight vocals, and seems perfect for the room. Not a great selection of liquors, but it's "enough".
