Great location by the beach and great burgers. Maybe PB wasn't the best place to bring Mike's grandmother for a late lunch, but she missed burgers and I wanted to try this place. Best place in San Diego for an organic, grass-fed, never frozen burger. You start with good meat and you get something special out. I usually go for a regular Queenstown fav. Bare Back Grill was delicious! I went there last Sunday for their brunch. Starting at 10am they do 25 cent MIMOSAS and then every half hour after that they raise the price by 25 cents! The mimosas come in a petite wine glass so for only 25 cents starting at 10am why not? For breakfast I ordered the breakfast burrito and my friends ordered the breakfast sandwich aka "Old Faithful." I should have gotten then Old Faithful.... their breakfast burrito was OK in comparison to their breakfast sandwich. The sandwich had cripsy, salty bacon, a perfectly seasoned fried egg, lettuce, tomato, and perfectly buttered and toasted to perfection white bread. It's the breakfast sandwich you wish you could make at home but just can't make it at their level. Along with the breakfast entrees they also give you a side of tater-tots. Of course you have to have tater tots with any burrito or brunch while you're in SD. It's what they're known for! In terms of price, my entire meal (with 3 mimosas) was $10 tops. Where else can you have a perfect hangover brunch along with 25 cent mimosas?? Overall, I would like to go back next time to try one of their burgers for lunch or dinner. I'm sure they're fantastic! The atmosphere was chill and relaxed, they played great music. The quality of the food was so-so. Both my wife and I thought our meals were pretty bland even though they try and put a lot of different stuff into their menu. Really delicious burgers. They have a great Monday special where all sliders past 6pm are $2.50. Their prices are a little high but the quality is fresh, yummy and consistent. Really huge appetizer portions. By default they make their burgers medium so you have to make sure to ask for something different because the servers usually forget. Seating can get pretty tight and uncomfortable but the food and beers are great, I'd suggest take out if a cramped bar is not your cup of tea. read more

San Diego, California- I'm going to have to give this place another shot because it has to be good. The line was out the door. Our call in order even resulted in a wait. The plates of guests were left empty. This tells me people like this stuff! Pros: The bun on my burger was perfectly toasted and the spicy peanut sauce drizzled over the top was flavorful without being overbearing. The cucumbers were cold and crispy. Single flaw: tofu. I just didn't care for the tofu patty and Michal agreed. He had grilled and I tried tempura. There was probably too much of the tofu- the patties were thick. The tofu wasn't flavored as well as the accompaniments. Since tofu takes on the flavor of whatever it's cooked with, add some more creativity and there is opportunity here! The fries and onion rings were over the moon good. It was way too much food for us so next time we will share a sandwich and one side. I told Michal about the beer menu so we may be there sooner rather than later. read more

Their vegs are locally sourced and organic, the meats are top quality and organic and everything was fresh- plus they offer gluten free bread for just a dollar more... always happy to have a gluten free option :) I had the lambalicious burger and it was so damn good didn't come with a side so I shared sweet potato fries with my bf and come to think of it we probably didn't even need them cuz the burgers were so filling. I don't often say this, but if there were an exceptional 6th star this bar/grill would get it. Went on a Thursday, lucky us, $6 flights/$3.50 sliders. Everything was amazing. The highest bar a restaurant can reach for me is taking flavors one usually does not like and exquisitely make them irresistible. I hate bleu cheese, wasabi and pickels. The bleu cheese they put on our sweet potato fries was awesome. Wasabi mayo on the Ahi sandwich interplayed great with the pickeled cucumbers/carrots/lime/onion crisps. My mouth is watering writing this review even. We thought we would take some food home...no chance. The wake and bake swordfish sandwich and the lamb burger were fabulous. Great beer selection and over the top fantastic service. Running a great ship, didn't expect to be blown out of the water like this. We'll be back...in a few days. read more

Came here with a friend...craving a burger... walked right into GREAT customer service! Our waiter was awesome, kept me laughing the entire time... Very attentive... asked about the burgers, I chose the Kiwilango but wanted bacon..of course they forgot my bacon. So I gave him a trivia question about my burger and he immediately knew I asked for bacon LOL it was so funny..but you had to be there...He brought me out an entire plate of bacon...I didn't mind slapped it write in the middle as if it came that way... Came here to watch the Laker game a few weeks ago. Since it was my first time here, I opted for their basic "Bare B'rger" and man, I was craving some MEAT! The burger was awesome, and I really dig their aioli/BBG sauce. The only thing I would change is for them to toast the buns a little. They do put sugar on their fries! It was pretty good, but I still like the basic McD's and In-n-Out fries. LOL. It's a small chill very "PB-Like" spot. Burgers are decently priced. Great Happy Hour drink specials. Most amazing chicken burger I've ever had! It had something with "cluck" in the name and had avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a little bbq sauce. It came on this brioche bun which was light and delicious...It was around $9/$10 bucks which is a little on the pricy side, but it was definitely worth it. Came here to watch the game with the GF and to grab a burger. We we lucky enough to drive up and find parking right next to this place on Emerald St. I can see parking be a pain when its busy. We get there and it's pretty much sit where you want so we take a table close to the bar. Server was nice and friendly and told us what the drink special was for the night. We go cheap and decided to go for the $10 bucket of 5 Modelos. We get the bucket and then realize that its Modelo cans. Not a big deal, but just kinda reminded us of our college days. After sipping on our cans for a bit we decided to order food. Our food for the night consisted of Kiwi 3'some (calamari, onion rings, and fries), Sheila Burger (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, egg, beet root, bbq sauce and aioli), and the Ahi Tuna burger. The 3'some was good and I liked their wasabi mustard dip that they had. The Ahi tuna burger was also very good and came with sweet potato fries. I was disappointed with my burger though and sad that I thought I was getting something amazing from their proclamation of beeing the best burger in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 on their website. The beef in it was fine but it was just everything together that just didn't do it for me and I'm a sucker for a fried egg on my burger. I would come back to this place for drinks and to hang out, but not for the burgers.
