Biggie's Burgers in Pacific Beach might have just ruined other burgers for me, but in the best way possible. This was one of those rare moments where with that first bite everything pauses for a second and you just think, "Yep...this might be the best burger I've ever had." The patty had that fresh, beef-forward flavor with just enough char to give it character without drying it out. Something I've been keener to wanting in my burgers of late. I used to be pile as many toppings that are not lettuce and tomato on the burger, but now I'm more about the toppings and condiments should hit that perfect balance where they complement the meat instead of hiding it. Biggies nailed it because every bite tasted like a "real" classic burger, not a gimmick. The bun held up from first bite to last, no crumbling, no sogginess, so I was able to actually focus on enjoying the burger instead of fighting it. The actual restaurant has that laid-back Pacific Beach energy just steps from the water, casual, and easygoing. It's felt like the locals' hangout that welcomes everyone. Biggie's delivers a lean, satisfying burger that somehow manages to be nostalgic and next-level at the same time. So for anyone chasing that "perfect burger by the beach" experience in San Diego, this is a stop that absolutely lives up to the hype.

I'd give this place a 3.8. The burger wasn't anything to go crazy over. It lacked flavor. I'd say there are a lot of better burgers in San Diego. The service was decent. The fries were decent. The ambiance was basically just a regular pb burger joint, but lower end. The restaurant was clean though, I give them that.

My Biggie combo was made to order. The fries were the thin ones and sooo fresh and hot. Burger meat was piping hot The lettuce pickle and onion were fresh too. The chocolate shake was handed to me when I gave my order to the cashier. The dinning area was clean. All available tables were bussed and available. I was there around 1030 at night and it is a little dark inside. Not like bright retro diner But a lonely feeling of not enough light. Based on the set up I'm sure in the day time it's cheerful and bright. You can sit against the windows and people watch on the Main Street. No parking lot. But I did find parking on the next block in a residential area. Simple menu Extra charge for cheese , bacon, chili Friendly staff too.

Many years ago while driving through San Clemente, I stumbled into this burger joint that I saw on Yelp that had excellent reviews. Over the years, whenever driving between San Diego and Los Angeles, I would sometimes stop at that little burger shop, which was always packed. Now, much to my surprise, we have a Biggie's right here in San Diego (Pacific Beach). Not the greatest location for locals, unless you live in PB, because this area is tourist central in the summer and during most holidays. But it's worth the drive no matter which of the two locations you choose. As a Southern California native, burgers are life. Burgers hold a notably important place in our culture as culinary staple and a cultural icon. And people will argue you into the night hours about what makes the perfect burger and who does it best. For many of us who grew up in Southern California, burger spots were part of childhood memories and family traditions. I can still remember the many burger joints in Los Angeles that were family favorites, where you could get an amazing burger and a bag of fries to hold you over while playing for hours in the park. For me, the best burger will be simple: charbroiled with a good sear, lightly toasted buns that are soft yet structured, shaved iceberg lettuce (preferably, or whole lettuce, tomatoes, fresh onions, melted American (only) cheese and a thin layer of classic mayo with a tiny bit of relish. The San Diego location has more of a 1950s vibe, and will sometimes play oldies and late 1990s music. They have excellent curly fries, massive onion rings, shakes and several burger options. And you can customize your burger, which is nice. But I am going to tell you right now that all those other fancy cheeses and secret sauces with the green leaf lettuce and trendy toppings (kimchi, jalapeños, teriyaki glaze, avocado or sriracha) do nothing for me. I want a classic burger. And that's what Biggie's delivers. Everything is fresh and clearly made to order, and very deserving of your visit if you have never been.

This is a family ran business who were friendly. You can expect your food to be made fresh to order and service was prompt. This is an à la carte menu but they do have combos as well. They even have late night happy hour specials. The prices are on the moderate side considering the location. The vibe is very much giving west coast burger as they come with a relish mayo and mustard condiments on it along with the basic topped burger veggies. The skinny fries are good as well as the steak fries depending how hearty you want the meal to be.We enjoyed our food and will be back to try the onion rings and shakes. The establishment has four private parking on the side back and one handicap parking . You can park along the street at your own. I'm giving this establishment 4/5 stars.

Everything was great. I had a kids burger which was bigger than regular burgers at most places & a shake. Burger was great! I rate it in my top 3 of all time! Strawberry shake was nice & thick and very tasty.

Food: GUYS !!!! What's going on with the false advertisement? I'm not going to go on and on with this review . Bottom line I didn't get what I THOUGHT I was ordering. For almost $9.00 I got this tiiiiiiiiny kids meal burger with one extra piece of cheese and a burnt bun . NOOOOTHING like the picture advertised. Looks like sourdough possibly right? NOPE they say the just cut the romps the bun to look like that. Nooooooo sir that is two slices of a bread NOT a baby bun! Guys just look at the pictures.... I am too exhausted to go on with this. I had to head over to #thehabit to get a REAL grilled cheese burger . Service: Ok, went in the day before to pick up an order to deliver. It smelled good and packed my interest. So I decided to go there for lunch today. Now, with both visits you have to wait for more time than you would like for a person to help you at the counter. From what I can tell they are responsible for making shakes as well as orders. There is a gigantic drink machine in front of the window in the back. They can not see you standing there for 7 min waiting for a little help. My recommendation is to move those SOOOO you can see when customers one in. Conclusion: Look, try it if you want but I 4 outta 10 DON'T recommend.

BBQ Burger and a side of onion rings

Boyfriend and I are from Arizona and we stopped by Biggie's for lunch. Hands down some of the best burgers we've had! We each had their BBQ burger and shared a side of onion rings! Everything was amazing! It was clean, cashier was nice and food came out fast!

The portions are big and the quality of the food is very good. The breading and seasoning on the chicken was tasty AF. Secondarily, the burgers are 1/4 lb and a single is plenty for a normal person. Lastly, the rings were thicc and GBD. Unfortunately, we sat in traffic for 3 hrs from OC, when it normally takes 1 1/2 hrs: We were really hungry, and Hodads met our needs. Regarding the ambiance, its a bit grunge but np for me. The name has a whole lot of nostalgia in SD. The service was friendly & warm. Our food came out quickly. The only downside was the chicken & rings needed some kinda sauce, but otherwise everything else was great. Would def return the next time I am in the area.

Pros: I got the half-pound burger with fries and it was really good overall. The burger was super juicy, well-cooked, and had that classic hearty, satisfying taste you want from a solid burger spot. The portion size was generous, especially with the half-pound patty, and the fries were a great side to round out the meal. The location in Pacific Beach is also a big plus. It's in a great area with lots going on, so it's easy to grab food and walk around afterward or make it part of a beach day. The overall vibe of the spot feels casual and fitting for PB--nothing overly fancy, just good comfort food done right. Cons: Since it's in a busy beach area, parking and crowds can be a bit of a challenge depending on the time you go. It's more of a casual grab-and-go or quick dine-in spot, so don't expect a sit-down restaurant experience with a lot of space or quiet seating. During peak beach hours, it can also get pretty busy. Verdict: Overall, Rocky's Burgers is a great spot in Pacific Beach if you're craving a juicy, satisfying burger in a fun beachside area. The half-pound burger and fries hit the spot, and it's a solid choice for a casual meal before or after hanging out in PB.
