We had a great waiter Jake. Friendly and good service. My second time here first time for my husband. We just dropped our youngest son at the airport and stopped in on the trip home. I got the breakfast sushi. I had it my first time here and really like it. I also wanted the apple fritter pancakes so my husband was nice enough to order them so I could have both. First time yelper here never been much on the yelping just kind of figure that I will not return and give my money to places that I don't have good experiences at but today's experience at fig tree was absolutely horrific. I was seated in the furthest table in the back of the restaurant with three walls on each side of me not a good vibe back there not good ambiance. The restaurant was pretty slow which I found surprising for 10:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning I very politely went up to the host i apologized for the inconvenience but asked if I could please be moved to a table not so far away. he obliged and was very kind and sat me at a table up front. I was probably sat at this table for close to 10 minutes before a server approached me we ordered drinks and ordered a little man candy before we decided on our meal. I ordered a hot chocolate and my boyfriend ordered an OJ. The hot chocolate was ice cold and instead of returning it or complaining I just drank it. Now here's where it gets interesting our server never once introduced his name so I couldn't tell you who he is. when he came up to take our order he put his hand in his front pocket and about 10 in from my face as I'm sitting at the table my server decides to..excuse my vulgarity here.. fondle himself and move his male parts around with his hand as I'm telling him my order for breakfast. Absolutely unacceptable for a male server to fondle or adjust his genitalia at my table side. I am a 32-year veteran server I have managed multi-million dollar restaurants including a very popular one in San Diego County I am very well versed on how a server should be and the etiquette that is required of them this however was vile and unacceptable. food then was delivered food Runner was very polite we ate our food server never came and checked on it when I was finally done he came over and his response to us instead of asking how my meal was said "need anything else.. just the check" my boyfriend wasn't even done eating his meal we felt like we needed to rush out of there he did not want us in his section and did not want to help us or serve us at all. Just got a whole I don't care kind of vibe from this place. So at that point my boyfriend handed him the card I asked for a box and we left. Because I am a veteran server I tend to tip very well because I understand the industry. What I had for the first time though was their crispy pork belly with Gouda grits... OMG. I did feel my arteries being clogged by the dish but it was fabulous. Surprising went around 10am and it wasn't jam packed. The food is good but I was disappointed with the coffee. When it first arrived there were the dregs from the bottom of the pot. I asked for a new cup and I'm pretty sure my waitress gave me the exact same cup... When the new cup arrived my companion said it looks like spices so maybe that's their blend, so I drank it.
