I love Bareburger and frequently visit the Edgewater location. Similar to Edgewater, the Closter location is open, spacious, and clean. The service is excellent, and they have an easy contactless way to pay for your bill just by scanning a QR code. I loved the lunch special option which includes a drink and a choice of side. Once again I came to Bareburger for a meal before a movie. Once again I was very happy with my choice! Our server was great, very helpful. And got us our shake to go as the movie was about to start. This time I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, which did not satisfy as much as the burger did last time. I was not bad, just did not do it for me. The cauliflower bite appetizer though - amazing. Love to come here for lunch. The vibes are pretty lowkey and relaxed. The food menu is always switching, which can be a plus or a minus. I am a picky eater so I like the SAME things. The menu has a bunch of options; vegan, vegetarian, salads, bowls, burgers, chicken, even imposible meat. It has a bar area and table areas (great for families). They have a mass amount of options for beer, cocktails and wine. The staff seem like it's always being replaced there are a few people I recognize, that are so sweet and friendly. (Leah, is personally my favorite girl there). The bathroom could be cleaner but the food, vibes and service are pretty legit. 8/10 for me. I probably come here like once a month. We sat a few minutes after 2pm and didn't receive our food until 3:25. After we noticed tables sat after us were already getting their food and finishing while we still had nothing, we asked what was going on and was told our ticket was bumped (marked completed) for whatever reason, so we were offered a discount (just 20%) and they would have it out ASAP. Service was poor and disorganized from the moment we walked in. At least six tables were covered with dirty plates & cups. No one seemed to be tasked with cleaning them. Our host/server cleaned off our table and left crumbs and food remnants on the table and seat. After our order was taken, we were pretty much forgotten. Our go-to burger place in Bergen county. The place is a nice open space and usually pretty empty during lunchtime on both weekdays and weekends. Feels like a big barn that was converted to a bar. Very kid friendly with an extensive kids menu and coloring materials, but be careful - your kids' eyes might become glued to the big TVs. They have a lot of unique burger options with different types of meat (outside of just beef), including vegan options. I usually go for the elkasaurus, which is an elk burger with bacon, cheese, mushroom, onions, and bbq sauce. I also like the fries here, which are nice and crispy. There have a whole slew of sauce options for their fries or onion rings. Been here for the second time -first time I really enjoyed my burger. Went yesterday ordered a So Co -double turkey avocado onions and mixed fries regular and sweet potatoes. With that said the turkey flavors were overwhelming but it was eatable, my fries were warm to cold not happy about that. My son had a sweet Bison Blue double burger he requested caramelized onions not to be included and he did say bison was tasty but greasy. He also ordered the popcorn chicken that was definitely to his liking. Beer choices are good. Being the closest Bareburger location to us, we have been here many times, and also have done many take outs. I always have had good experience with them both dine-in and with take out. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The food quality is consistent, never had ups and down in their quality and service. During pandemic they have limited their protein option, but I used love their BYOB (build your own burger) menu, where I had option to pick between beef, ox, bison, several chicken varieties and many more choices. Give or take there are approximately 90,000 burger joints in the US and although I've only been to a tiny fraction, I have been to Bareburger in Closter, NJ which easily vaults their Bleuburger and sweet potato fries into world class contention. The place is cool but that's largely irrelevant to what's served inside. Sure, you can go to one of the burger behemoths but you'll only experience assembly line fare you've had a thousand times before with menus that regrettably taste exactly the same whether you're in Denver, Dublin or Dubai. How about actually tasting the meat and toppings without your meal instantly dissolving into a congealed mess with the mouthfeel of paste. That's about as rare as a truly rare burger. Bareburger in Closter is a category of one and if that ain't worth five stars then I don't know what is. read more

Once I got a quarter into my burger I noticed the meat was very pink and getting red. The fries were also very sub par and obviously the person who made them just threw in the toppings without any care. BareBurger, not so bare? At the end of the closter plaza, stands BareBurger, they have around 38 chains in the United States and 48 chains across 5 countries. BareBurger promises better burgers with better ingredients to everyone who tries their food, but are their burgers really better? Of course, you can't judge food based solely on the review without actually eating what the restaurant has to offer, but whoever takes time out of their day to read my review will have the impression that they've already tried the food, seen the restaurant, and talked to the waiters. Despite the good food and short wait times for both my food and my table, I felt that BareBurger was mediocre. The staff seemed very matter-of-fact and lacking in interest when serving me or even just answering questions. And when I wanted to bill, my friend had to get up and ask our waiter to bring it to the table. When I first walked into the restaurant with my friend, I noticed that there was no one to seat us. Service moved like clockwork; they were efficient but seemed cold and uninterested. We soon saw a waitress on the other side of the establishment, and she told us to sit wherever we wanted. We wanted to sit outside, but it had been raining and the chairs and tables were still wet. After we had picked a table, we looked at our menus, which had a wide variety of foods, ranging from burgers to salads, multiple items on the kids' menu, and a good selection of desserts to choose from. Only about 3 tables were filled in the whole restaurant, which was unusual since school had just gotten out, so the whole place was pretty quiet. We chose a two-person table close to the entrance and decided what to order. While the food at BareBurger looks inviting and is fairly affordable for most people, the atmosphere is like any other restaurant. There were a couple of big windows where we were sitting, which were nice because a lot of light was coming into the building, but the four TVs in each corner made it feel like the restaurant couldn't decide if it wanted to serve burgers or broadcast the evening news. We got our drinks right after we ordered, and the food after about 15 minutes. Everything looked normal, nothing fancy. I ordered a lemonade, fries, chicken wings, and for dessert, I got a chocolate milkshake, which all looked and tasted great. The lemonade was sweet and sour, the chicken wings were also great, but the milkshake was kind of bland. My friend got the same thing as me, just a Shirley Temple instead of a lemonade and a vanilla milkshake instead of chocolate. Despite the great-looking food and short wait times, the taste can vary. I have been to BareBurger a couple of times, and the wait time for a table and food is always short, which I love, especially when I haven't eaten for a long time. When I went to this location, the food tasted good, even though it wasn't world-class, I still enjoyed everything I bought. But the taste is a little different each time. Sometimes the food is dry, and other times it's a symphony of flavors, but each time I go, it seems like a different chef is cooking the food. I had a good experience eating at BareBurger, but it doesn't compare to something world-class. It's just a normal, casual restaurant that anyone can visit. The restaurant was clean, and the staff made sure to clear any tables with plates still on them, but in doing so, they seemed to forget about us. We were enjoying our food and having a great time. The waiter came by once to check on us, asking how the food was and if we needed anything else. But after that, it felt like we were invisible as they started clearing plates from other tables, as if we were just another item on the to-do list. Around five minutes after we had finished our food and drinks, our waiter was nowhere to be found, and the place felt like a ghost town. My friend had to get up and walk over to the counter to ask how we could pay. They told us to use the QR code on the table, but it required an app. After a couple of minutes, they finally came over to help us, and luckily, they accepted Apple Pay, so we could wrap things up and head out. Bareburger has a diverse menu, but it is also more expensive than other restaurants I have been to. It is affordable, but compared to some other places that are mostly like BareBurger, the prices could have been lower. I paid around $35 plus tip and tax for my meal, which was a good price. I would definitely recommend BareBurger as a nice, affordable spot if you need a quick, casual meal. The restrooms are clean, and the food tastes great. If you're looking for something fancier, this place might not be for you, but otherwise, it's a solid choice. Overall, I'd rate this restaurant an eight out of ten. When Jattia and I walked into BareBurger, the place was very quiet, and no one was there, which was great because we could choose any seat we wanted. The staff came right away to take our drink orders as soon as they saw us sitting down and getting comfortable, and after a couple of minutes, we received our drinks. Jattia got a lemonade, and I got a Shirley Temple. After we got our drinks, they took our orders, and we both ordered the same thing: 6-piece wings with fries and a milkshake. Jattia ordered a chocolate milkshake, while I ordered a vanilla one. The food took a little while to come out, which was a bit unusual since no one else was there except for a family of four and two other boys. It took about ten minutes for our food to arrive. The fries were amazing, and the wings had a generous amount of sauce, which was just fantastic. Our milkshakes were incredible, with every detail contributing to their colorful and delicious presentation--mine was vanilla, and Jattia's was chocolate. I felt the decor matched the theme of Bare Burger; there were bear decorations throughout the restaurant, and the wooden theme was delightful. The location felt a bit odd; although it is situated in the middle of a plaza where not many people visit, the interior was great. While the food was somewhat pricey for families like mine and Jattia's, it might be costly for larger families. However, I would recommend coming here for a family dinner or a date. I've visited this location many times, but I wanted to return and experience it again for the fifth time. This restaurant is one of my favorites, but this time it didn't quite provide the energy I usually feel there. I felt that while the food was amazing and both Jattia and I loved the place very much, I do not think we will be going back just because neither of us felt the energy or vibe we always do when we visit. The theme of this place was fantastic, and the atmosphere was pleasant, with such nice people. However, I felt that the staff seemed a bit distracted, especially since they didn't bring out the check when we were clearly done. I thought that was something you guys needed to work on. Five things I certainly noticed were that the theme was focused on the outdoors and animals. I found these observations to be quite accurate, and I thought that while the staff was friendly, they appeared a bit distracted. The manager wasn't present, which contributed to a low-energy atmosphere and left the staff without guidance. We noticed they had outdoor seating, but the chairs were wet, so I think it would be a good idea to add a large canopy over the chairs to allow customers to sit outside without getting soaked while enjoying a lovely view. In conclusion, I believe this restaurant is one of the best places to eat. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and everything went smoothly. The restaurant was clean, but it was oddly empty. I felt that the location was a bit confusing, situated in a plaza where not many people frequent. I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys burgers, as that is the focus here. Delicious burger spot . Cool looking hip restaurant that has clear garage door walls that I assume open up in the spring/summer time. Fun decor of cows in suits hanging in the walls. Both of us got the americana burger with the natural Coke ( very good! I wonder who makes the Coke? ) fresh buns, veggies and melted cheese and the burger was cooked perfectly. While in Closter, New Jersey around lunch time I was having trouble finding a lunch spot to sit and relax for a while and have lunch. I can't across Bareburger in a shopping center, so let's try it. It's a burger joint but a little more upscale, with table service and a real menu, not pictures over the counter. My waitress was really very sweet and, very important, very patient with me and my questions about the different burgers. After all that I went with the Bareburger Classic, with the addition of bacon of course. My drink came first followed by my burger. It was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Also with the addition of any drink you order they bring a decorative bottle of water and a glass. No special name on the water bottle so I just assumed it was cold tap water, but I have nothing to back that up. When all was said and done, this burger was a little pricey. Good turkey burgers are really hard to come by. They're usually dry and flavorless. I don't eat beef but love a good turkey burger and Bareburger delivers. Created my own with their spicy mayo, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and a generous amount of dill pickles. It was so good - an actual juicy turkey burger! Got a mix of fries and onion rings on the side with a side of jalapeño ranch for the onion rings. The fries were just ok, onion rings were great considering it was a delivery order, so crispy still. Sauce was a great combo with them for those who love spice. My son enjoyed his kids beef cheeseburger as well.
