My first dining experience at Mykos was definitely a 5 star visit for the atmosphere, service, delicious food, and entertainment. Mykos is beautifully decorated with flowers and touches of blue to make you experience a touch of Greece. There's lots of seating available and different sections within the restaurant. Valet parking is available. Our waitress, Laura, provided great detail behind the menu and offered suggestions since she knew it was our first time visiting. Our group ordered five appetizers, and they each delivered in taste and presentation. We enjoyed all of them: 1. Colossal Shrimp 2. Grilled octopus 3. Homemade pita with creamy feta 4. Saganaki 5. Mykos Chips with Tzatziki For dinner, many of us enjoyed the moussaka. Other stand out entrees included the halibut and grilled chicken. Highly recommend a side of the lemon potatoes. I first went to Mykos for our 39th Wedding Anniversary -- as it was the place of our Wedding reception under a different name in 1987. While a bit over-priced compared to the portions, the service, atmosphere and food was 5-Star. Not being an expert at Eastern Med food, I can't speak for it's authenticity, but my wife Masuka and beet salad were awesome, and I enjoyed my 2 appi's (Fluke and Octopus) and my roasted chicken was very flavorful. These are unique tastes, and well prepared and presented. My only hesitation regarding the 5-stars is the price -- which seems a bit much. read more

Every dish was excellent -- the octopus was perfectly tender and flavorful, the feta with pita (made fresh) was simple but outstanding, the lamb burger was juicy and well-seasoned, and both the swordfish skewers and branzino were fresh and cooked beautifully. Truly some of the best Mediterranean food we've had. The rest of the staff were warm and attentive, and the overall atmosphere made for a great dining experience. The only minor drawback was that our waitress tended to address and engage primarily with my wife while largely overlooking me at the table. It didn't ruin the evening, but it was noticeable. That said, the incredible food and the friendliness of the rest of the team easily make this a five-star experience. We'll definitely be back. read more

The esthetics are beautiful! Bright white, high ceilings, lovely floral decor throughout and a decent size bar. Food- everyone loved the meal. The dips were served with warm pita but it was a little strange that the pita was not cut up. We were a table of six and we had to rip it with our hands (not very sanitary). The grilled calamari was tender and flavorful. We all had the grilled branzino- one of the owners served it- very fresh and tasty but little bones were found in each of our dishes. The side of potatoes were good but oily. The service was excellent! They had belly dancers on Saturday night. Pricey meal but we would go back again and try some other dishes. read more

I can't recommend this restaurant enough. It's so sunny inside they have bellydancing Fridays and Saturdays. They have live music during the weekdays. I think on Thursday the vibe is perfect perfection it's so much fun. I highly recommend you going during live dancing. The food is amazing. everything we got was so fresh and delicious. Mykos is absolutely gorgeous inside. You feel absolutely transported, like you're not in New Jersey when you're in there, you would never have known Madeline's was previously there. My husband and I went for dinner on a Saturday night and had unbelievable service from our waiter Josh. My husband's drink was made incorrectly and Josh was great in not only understanding, but ensuring that the bartender knew exactly how to fix the drink. We got an insane amount of food as it was our first time there and we wanted to try everything we could and all of it was phenomenal. For appetizers we got the kataifi shrimp, eggplant dip with pita, Aphrodite salad and keftedes. The shrimp was absolutely mind blowing, the shrimp was colossal and had the most incredible honey herb flavoring with a beautiful crunch. The pita which is freshly made in house that came with eggplant dip was so delicious, the char on it was lovely and you could taste the seasoning, don't pass on the dips just so you can try the pita. I literally told my husband during dinner that if I could I'd call just to order a bunch of slices of pita for pick up if I could regularly. The keftedes were perfect, and my husband kept saying how he could squeeze them and you just see all the juiciness of the meat, plus they melted in your mouth. Don't sleep on the salads because the Aphrodite salad was crisp, perfectly seasoned, and a nice addition to the appetizers for us. For dinner, my husband got the pork chop, which was massive and perfectly cooked and came with a side of squash mash that complemented the pork chop so well. I got the lobster youvetsi which was presented beautifully inside the lobster and the amount of lobster within was immense not to mention that the seasoning of the orzo was beautiful. While the lobster dish was expensive, it was definitely worth it because you're getting the whole lobster and I will be ordering again in the future. We also got a side of blistering peppers, which was good as well and for dessert we got their bougatsa. While the bougatsa wasn't traditional way of presenting this dessert; the cream inside was light, fluffy and had a subtle lovely lemon seasoning. The meal was exceptional and we will definitely be back soon. We highly recommend this place to anyone within the area looking for a good Greek meal with incredible ambience. read more

Came here with family for a bday celebration - was told by my uncle that the executive chef was from Del Posto in the city which closed during the pandemic. The space is gorgeous inside, belied by the unassuming exterior. It's open early for dinner - 3pm so when we arrived at 4:30 for our 5pm reservation it was no problem. Service was super solicitous felt very old school in a good way - a super attentive waiter in a white jacket talkative and friendly. Coat check up front. Everyone was very warm and welcoming. I never lacked for a full glass of water. Everything I ate was so delicious - instead of the prix fixe menu we decided to just get a whole bunch of stuff and share it family style. Three spreads with their homemade pita - the best taramasalata I've had not too salty but still flavorful and perfect with their pita which was warm and chewy almost like a naan. All three salad were super fresh and perfect- there's a kale one that's leafy and green with we think halloumi, another super fresh cucumbers tomatoes and onion, and a beet salad with goat cheese. The octopus was incredibly tender and sits on a bed of charred onions scallions and leeks. So delicious I could've just eaten those veggies on their own. Zucchini chips were razor thin and fried crisp seasoned with pepper and salt. More addictive than potato chips (which I love) and did not need but were excellent with their yogurt sauce. We had the whole branzino which was grilled and cooked to perfection, crispy grilled skin, simple and delicious letting the fish shine. They said it's for two people but I think more like for four people especially if you're ordering other food. I had a bite of the Chilean sea bass which was also delicious but I preferred the branzino. Someone got the pork chop and said it was so tender but I didn't try it bc I was stuffed. For sides had gigantes beans, lemony potatoes, and horta (some type of dandelion greens) all good but maybe not necessary. Especially given the amount of food we had ordered for just the six of us. Dessert was the olive oil chocolate cake with pistachio mascarpone - amazing. Super moist and chocolatey and not too rich. Also the Greek frozen yogurt was excellent and an enormous portion. Little sour in a good way, not overly sweet, a nice ending to the meal. Overall the best Greek restaurant I've ever been to. There wasn't a single misstep with the food. It was fantastic. read more

Came here with a few friends. The menu is pretty small, but some good options. It is on the pricey side and they charge extra for gluten free options. Unfortunately we weren't informed that those options had up charges. There were belly dancers and it was loud. It didn't bother us, but some may not like how loud it was during that time. We really wanted espresso martinis but unfortunately the machine was broken. They did try it with coffee and it was okay, but no real espresso , so can't judge. Their pistachio martini was very good. We headed to Mykos for a Friday night dinner with friends of ours. I was tempted to not review it, as I typically subscribe to the idea of not saying anything if I don't have anything nice to say. That may leave you wondering why I still gave four stars. 95% of my reviews are 5 star reviews, for places that I went to after seeing they received over 4 stars on Yelp. My four star reviews are for places that I know are very good but just aren't for me. I can see from the other reviews and crowd, that it is for others. After that meandering preamble, I'll get to the point. The restaurant is gorgeous, the lot is filled with high end vehicles. It's a festive atmosphere, in a deceptively large restaurant. We had a reservation but were still seated in a room that felt more bar like, with a television showing the football game. Not what I'm looking for in an otherwise "fancy" restaurant. The speaker was placed over my head, when the belly dancer made her rounds, they ramped the music up to volumes that limited conversation. No thank you, not for me. I realize that others were into it. The food was a mixed bag for me. All of it was good to very good, none of it was outrageously good. Elevated price point leads to elevated expectations. Again, this is likely a "me" problem. I prefer my ethnic food in a rustic setting, preferably surrounded by the ethnic community. The service was also hit or miss. Everyone was pleasant, they just seemed intermittently interested in our table. At times, it seemed like other staff members picked up the slack for each other. Perhaps it's a lot of restaurant to handle. If you like a "see and be seen" kind of place with solid if uninspiring food, check it out. Just don't expect to see me at the next table. read more

Went on a Saturday night. Apps: 3 spreads, Feta, hummus, eggplant with pita. All taste good. Cheap on the pita, in my opinion because they gave one piece. If you order 2 spreads, they give two pieces. Although they are a tiny bit smaller. This math doesn't math. Extra pita is extra $. Other app: Octopus was good. Not enough garlic yogurt. Entrees: Sea bass was ok - mainly bc the sauce was overly salty or overly buttery. I couldn't point my finger on what it was. But it was so eh, I couldn't eat it all. Lamp chops were just ok. Both are small portions. $58 and $68, mind you! Neighbor table ordered the whole fish- boy it was small! He ate the whole thing and I could tell he wasn't excited about it. Sides: Potatoes. They were good and good portion but save your spread leftovers for dipping. Elevates them! No desserts sounded great but ordered the vanilla and pistachio ice cream with pieces of phyllo. We should have just passed. It was not worth it IMO. Place is too expensive for just ok food and mediocre service. Our waters were never filled, steak knife not given for chops until we asked, and the wrong wine was rang up. Wine $22 each, over priced. Cocktails $20 each, you better like it. Enjoyed mine. Be ready to spend money. The dancers entertained at 8pm with pauses. It was good but if I have to pay more to go here because of the dancers - they can stay home. Ugh! been twice now and both times the food was great. they took over the old madeleine restaurant after that couple retired; and boy did they renovate. i can't even tell that it's the same restaurant anymore. it's trendy, spacious, and lovely inside. i understand the ownership is the same as verana. parking is so easy with their big lot. the servers know the menu well and were able to answer all questions. the fish here is really outstanding, got it both times, and it's dressed so simply with just salt pepper olive oil and lemon. big big fan of the branzino. the bread that comes with the dips are also really nice; the tarramasalata is the best of the dips for sure. it's certainly a bit on the pricier side, but it's also probably the nicest greek restaurant in the area. read more

We visited last night with girlfriends to celebrate my birthday. First impression was great, the space is beautiful, ambiance great. In terms of food, everything was spectacular. I forgot the name of my cocktail but it was amazing. We ordered a trio spread with feta, tzatziki, and hummus which were all good. The Crudo appetizer was fantastic and highly recommend the shrimp kataifi. It was sooo good and def my favorite of the night. For entre we got the branzino for two and the steak. Branzino was definitely best I ever had but the steak was subpar. The bone marrow was deconstructed into a dipping sauce which was a little disappointing. I deducted 1 star because the service was disappointing. My friend ordered the mocktail and it was so good so I asked if I order it as a cocktail with vodka which the waiter said could absolutely be done. When i got my drink, it tasted as if there was no alcohol. I thought he had mistakenly gotten me a regular mocktail. I asked if more alcohol could be added and said he would look into it. When he returned he said that all cocktails have 200 mg of alcohol, if i wanted more, I'd have to pay the price of another drink which i thought was outrageous. Most restaurants at this price point should immediately offer to make a new drink. It did not sit well and even though i actually did want to order more drinks, we stopped. As dinner progressed, we kept feeling as if we were being rushed. The restaurant is advertised to be open till 10:30 but our server constantly attempted to take our unfinished dinner and then gave us the check when we did not ask for it. At promptly 10:30pm, he let us know the restaurant would be closing. For the fact that we were celebrating a 40th birthday, no dessert or anything special was offered which was surprising as well for a newly established restaurant. Had a great meal at Mykos last week. My wife and I sat at the bar and shared some appetizers, a salad, and the halibut. All were fantastic. The whipped feta was amazing and served with absolutely amazing homemade pita (unlike any grocery store pita youve ever had). The crudo and halibut were equally as delicious. The dark horse was the aphrodite salad....simply fabulous and dressed perfectly. Beyond the great food, it was amazing to see the transformation of the space from the old Madeleines. The venue has been nicely renovated with interesting decorations. Had dinner for 4 persons on a Saturday night. The service was excellent and the food was very good, particularly the appetizers of an eggplant spread, the keftedes meatballs and the saganaki cheese. My wife and I shared the whole fish dorado and our friends shared the whole fish branzino. Both were grilled with olive oil and capers and were tasty, but I thought the charring of the skin was too black. Pricing is steep but would return for special occasions. read more

My Greek relatives would have flipped when Greek lemon potatoes were served fried with a squeeze of lemon. Not Greek lemon potatoes. Fish was fresh and prepared nicely. Starting with a tasty margarita 3/4's filled with ice, my friend had a dirty martini which he liked and our wives had red & white wine. No hummus. Boo! The spanakopita was delicate and delicious but my moussaka was oppositely bland, not seasoned and boring. We were told this is the 5th moussaka iteration. Our message is "keep trying!" My friend had their shrimp dish which she loved, my wife had quail which she also loved but my friend had Saganaki which he did not like. Dessert? No baklava. Boo! So we shared their Greek yogurt with nuts & honey which was pretty good. Service was fast, polite and professional and their maitre d deducted the cost of the coffee & dessert because of our mixed review. A very fair gesture! It's a beautiful room with moody lighting, music and to their credit much renovation was invested. My mother, sister, and I had the absolute best experience celebrating my sister's birthday here. From start to finish, everything was perfect -- the food was delicious, the drinks were spot-on, and the service was truly exceptional. What made it even more special was how incredibly accommodating the staff was. My sister is a new mom and had to bring her baby along last minute after a sitter cancellation, and not only was it not an issue -- they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We were seated in a quieter area without even asking, and they checked in to see if the music was too loud (it wasn't, but the thoughtfulness meant so much). Andrew was a standout -- so kind, professional, and genuinely caring. He even walked us out at the end of the night and helped carry the stroller down the steps. That level of service is so rare, and we were blown away. This restaurant has 100% become our new go-to spot, and we're already looking forward to coming back with family and friends. An incredible culinary addition to the tristate area that can rival any of New York City's Greek estiatorios. From the moment you walk inside, the white and blue Grecian decor makes you feel as if you've been transported to Santorini. The restaurant is beautifully appointed with a welcoming bar near the entrance, a large open dining room and an incredibly chic lounge towards the back. The food includes Greek classics in a high end setting such as dips (the taramasalata is a standout), gorgeous housemade pita, honey coated fried halloumi, an assortment of mezzes, moussaka, fish and meats. It is clear that chef Giuseppe is a seasoned professional based on the sophistication of his dishes.
