Not too shabby. We went with another couple about a month or so ago. I really appreciated and enjoyed that they had more than beef to choose from. I got a bison burger and it was prepared perfectly. Service was super-fast (almost too rushed). It seemed that the staff were being pushed to not let people linger, which was kinda annoying when you are trying to have a glass of wine and conversation with friends. Had a nice time at Bareburger on St. Patty's Day. The Syrah was a great compliment to the meal. I also tried their strawberry margarita and ginger peach slushie. So yummy and refreshing. The sides of pickles were very tasty. Onion rings were crispy and well seasoned. I loved the southern caviar sliders. The standard slider was also delicious. I had a bite of a farmstead slider. It was good but I prefer the beef and bison burgers . Would be a great choice for a vegetarian. read more

We decided we were craving burgers, so after searching Yelp we found this place. We walked in around the middle of the day so it was pretty empty, but it looked like it was closed because we didn't see any employees for a good 10 minutes while we waited to be seated. Once we sat down, the menu looked great! So many options, and a lot of interesting/unique choices. I ordered the county something, and my brother ordered the grind house. Both of us were fairly disappointed with our entrees. The meat was dry, tough, and just didn't taste very good. I wanted to like this place because of its use of organic products, but the service, and the overpriced entrees that didn't taste too great turned both of us off. Stopped into Bareburger for lunch today. The restaurant itself is very cool on the inside with some huge booths and it has like an old farm feel. I had the special which was the Boar burger which came with 3 premium toppings so I chose cheese, bacon and egg. The sandwich was outstanding and the quinoa hash brown was also very good. Novelty burger joint. Had many options on meats however I was charged an additional 2.00 to sub lettuce for a bun. I got one piece of leaf lettuce with a burger. My 12.00 burger ended up being 14.00. Friend ordered cheese sauce fries and did not get what was ordered. Had to hunt down our waitress to bring her a cup of cheese sauce so we didnt have to wait even longer to get her order corrected. Service was poor we only had our waitress come to the table to take our order, hunted her down to fix the fries, and had to find her again to get our check. We ordered milkshakes they were good. Would probably not return with the caliber of other restaurants in the area will be trying other restaurants in the future. read more

I have been to Bareburger before. I liked it a lot. I continue to like it a lot. The quality of the product is directly reflectedd din the price I assume. I will go back. My Elk burger this time around "Big Blue" wasn't to my liking though. It was cooked medium with all the toppings and on a sprout bun. The whole thing was quite dry. The fries were great. The milkshakes are some of the best in town. But it is difficult for me to comprehend how a burger, fries, milkshake lunch ends up being $22.00. Dined at Bareburger this past weekend for the very first time after hearing great things and left sorely disappointed. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and the menu appears to have a burger to fit just about anyone's taste---but that's as far as my praise will go. I arrived at the restaurant with my boyfriend around 4:45 on Saturday afternoon and we were seated immediately, yet waited more than ten minutes to be greeted by our server. She explained the menu with little enthusiasm and then walked away without taking a drink order. Several minutes later she came back and we finally got to order bar drinks---the Rachel Carson and the Old McDonald---which I will say, were perfectly mixed cocktails. After the delivery of our bar drinks, we did not see our server again (not even walking around the restaurant or stopping by other tables) for well over 40 minutes. About ten minutes after we received our drinks, another server came to the table and mentioned that our server had to "step out" but that she would take our order for us. I ordered the Habanero Express burger with the elk, as recommended, and ordered it medium. My boyfriend ordered a burger as well, cooked medium with elk. We also ordered a side of the fresh cut fries and onion rings to split. After about a half hour, a food runner dropped off our food with still no sight of our server. I asked the food runner to locate our server so that we could order more drinks, as ours were now empty after the 30+ minute wait for food. This blew my mind that or server had no interest in selling another round of $10 cocktails to add to her check. Finally the server reappeared, glanced at our table with empty drinks and walked away. I literally had to flag her down to get her attention. I've never seen anything like it. Our food was dismal at best. The medium burgers we ordered came out well done and not at all pleasant to eat. The side of fresh cut fries were severely under cooked and could only be described as soggy. We were not able to express our disappointment as there was no visible management and our server only returned to drop off our check. Two bar drinks each, two overcooked burgers and a side of soggy fries came to an obscene $76.51. I can say with certainty I will never be back to Bareburger. Poor quality, poor service, outrageous prices. read more

Went here for restaurant week. Three of us ordered the fries/onion rings, chicken sandwich, and it came with a shake for dessert. It took 20 minutes to take our order and an hour for anything to come out and that's probably because the chicken was in the fryer for a really long time. Is fried chicken supposed to be taupe? Note: If the bun of a sandwich is the best part, it's not a good sandwich. Onion rings: horrible. Fries? Literally better at any other restaurant. But hey - at least we have a Mexican Chocolate shake coming. That should make up for it, right? The menu lists the ingredients as chocolate ice cream, cayenne cinnamon spice, and torched marshmallow. But when someone puts a whole teaspoon of Cayenne in that **** what's torched is your tongue. Completely undrinkable. All of that for $20+ a person. Protip: Go to Flipside and get something actually worth your money. Should I also mention the constant bathroom line because there's only one room/stall per gender? Or the ripped and crudely duct-taped booth we sat at? Or the fact that they had their garage door at the back of the restaurant open during winter? read more

Ok... when they say "organic" they're serious right down to the bland katchup(and i mean that in a good way). I had a burger, fries, lemonad, and banana milkshake. Nothing, and I mean nothing, had the taste of sodium or the sweetness of sugar. I discovered i don't like real lemonad but kodos to these guys for making and serving the real deal. The burger was Great! The fries awesome but I'll probably cheat and sneak some nasty high sodium katchup in to put on them next time ;) all-in-all very good place. After struggling to find the entrance (no obvious sign on the entrance on high street), we were treated to a nice meal. The guy who initially took our drink and appetizer order told us about the menu,which helped us make decisions. I decided to go with the guapo salad, which in hind sight was alright, but I was expecting more guacamole within it. My boyfriend had a good sized burger... one that was not overwhelmingly huge and it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the hard cider offered from Mad Moon it was a caramel apple flavor. We had a wait a long time for our food due to a mix up, which we got discounts on our next order because of it. In all other was a good experience and if like to try other items on the menu. Ok first off i was traveling and stopped here to eat cause I love bison burgers. When I arrived there was a long wait before the hostess seated us or even acknowledged us. (Party of 3). Ended up sitting at the bar. Very good selection of beers on tap. Had two great beers that I found and bought to take home. Anyways I tried the elk instead of the bison against my better judgment. It was ok. A little gamey tasting and kinda tough. Never had it before so I can't say that it all doesn't taste that way, fries were good. Service sucked. Bar tender didn't take the time to take our order for at least 30 min. When he did it was 40 min before food arrived and the orders were short the fries that eventually came after the burger was already gone. The food is always great here but the service comes up short every time. Tonight we were seated and waited a whole fifteen minutes before our server came by to say hi. Once we ordered, our food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but the entrées and appetizers came out together. So whatever, it's all going to the same place. AWESOME FOOD! The El Matador (minus guac) was great. The table all enjoyed their choices. The local brew Honey Wheat was tasty, Fig n Pig cocktail was good and the Bourbon Mule was unique. This is a place that's worth trying once (simply for the variety of patties) but it's no worth a second trip in my opinion. The drink selection is ok and in line with other similar restaurants in the area, but it's nothing to write home about. The appetizers were pretty good, albeit a little pricy. Ordered their specialty "Brisket Bareburger" with bison as recommended. Asked for it to be cooked medium, it came out well. Ehh, I should have sent it back but didn't, my fault. It's a burger not a nice steak and I was pretty hungry so I figured what the heck I'd give it a try anyways. It was definitely overcooked for my liking and not very flavorful. But, I was more upset by the brisket though. The few pieces that came on top of the patty were extremely tough, I would say compare it to being tougher than beef jerky .... it was, without a doubt, the worse brisket I've ever had (I ended up pulling off the brisket and not eating it because it was so tough). So, with the brisket out of the picture, there really wasn't anything "special" about the burger and in my opinion it was in no way shape or form worth $14. (My wife ordered a different specialty Bareburger, with beef, and she commented that her's wasn't "anything special" either.) The dessert was good, we ordered the ice cream sandwich thing but it's not worth going back just for that. My final $0.02: If you want a bison burger go to Ted's by the arena. If you want a beef burger, go just about anywhere else in the area. And if you want chicken, well I can't comment on Barebuger's chicken because I didn't try it, it might be good, but I'm not sure why you'd go to a "burger" joint for chicken. read more

We got the Supreme burger and California burger with beef on a brioche bun. Both were very good with a nice amount of toppings, and the meat was juicy and tender. There are a number of specialty burgers, or you can create your own. There are some interesting protein choices, ranging from a quinoa veggie patty, to wild boar, elk, bison, and even ostrich. The only downside is that the burgers are on the pricier side, anywhere from $10-14. If burgers aren't your thing though, there is also a decent selection of salads and sandwiches! read more

Visited here today for lunch. Since it was first time, figured I would go for the sure bet beef cheeseburger and fries. Burger and fries both very good. But the sliced tomato they put on the burger looked like it had been grown in a closet. It was peeked and I'm not sure where they got that tomato from. Tomatoes are in season right now, this time of year, you should be able to easily find ripe, tasty tomatoes dirt cheap. Not sure who picked out their tomatoes to serve today. Getting past the disgusting tomato slices that they put on my burger, it and the fries were pretty good. Just don't use their ketchup if you have never tried it. It does not taste good on the fries or burger. Yes, the burger is good. However, I can get about the same burger at Flipside at happy hour time for 5 bucks. My partner and I have been trying burgers in Columbus for years now and nothing can top Barrel 44 in our opinion for its quality and ingredients, but in Bareburger 44 has finally met it's match (good thing though bc I mean it's called Barebuger!) The food here is good the menu has a wide selection of various burgers and other sorts of salads, wraps and whatnots, all seeming pretty tasty. I would have given it a 4 star, but it's a little pricy for my wallet (burgers priced around$10 - 13 and sides are separate), the whole place seems very bourgeoise to me........I guess it's mostly that when I tried to order a whiskey on the rocks I was told that they "don't do liquors on the rocks or shots" they will only serve drinks mixed with soda or juice. They would not serve me a whiskey and water either. When I asked why, the server lied and said it was a liquor law, I having been a bartender all through college knew this to be a lie, asked another server who told me the truth which was that, this "is a family restaurant" and they apparently don't respect their patrons enough to make their own alcohol decisions. Now, I don't have kids yet, but I imagine when I do I will still want a whiskey on the rocks, make that a double. WTF Bareburger? Presumptuous much? Puritans? I just don't like their tone. Any who, they have good food, but I'm not too keen on their weirdo liquor control police thingy. For my tastes I will be quenching my burger tooth at my good ol trusty Barrel where the whiskey is always strong and straight up (if that's how ya like it). read more

The boar, elk, and bison were all good. Our bill for an Elk burger, wrap (no meat), 1 coffee, and fries was $27. This is way too high for a lunch bill. The wrap was way overpriced considering it had no meat. In addition, while our server was nice, we asked about receiving our pickles (snack on the menu, ~$8) and they forgot 3 times. The burger is said to be "cooked medium unless otherwise specified". No problem there. That's how we like our burgers cooked anyway! Fantastic.
