First time here after moving our daughter in at Capital University for her sophomore year. The service was very slow at 2:30 pm. My wife enjoyed her French onion soup and my daughter enjoyed the fried pickles. They both had the fried shrimp special which were heavily breaded butterflied shrimp and filled you up fast. As for my cheesesteak: this was just sad. Being a native Philadelphian I know what a cheesesteak should be and it appears that the Rusty Bucket missed the assignment. They really tried but I can tell you that I had to make meal out of my fries and a couple a shrimp from my daughter. At best this would be an okay place for basic pub food like a burger and fries but do not get this cheesesteak unless you have never tried one before and have no idea what to expect. read more

The food here was really good and parking was plentiful. I got the chicken tenders + fries and added a side of Mac and cheese. Food was crispy and fresh! Service was just okay. I'm sad to post this, as this is one of my go to restaurants and so close to home. But, wow, what a disappointment last night's dinner was! I chose to meet a friend here I haven't seen in a long time, assuring her what great service and food this location has always had upon my many visits. I am honestly embarrassed now that I chose to meet up here. First off, the portion sizes and prices were outrageous. The Old Bay bucket of shrimp had 6 shrimp that weren't even that big at a cost of over 15 bucks. Yikes. Also, 6 wings for 16 bucks! Geeez! It seems the prices have went up as the portions have gotten smaller. We also ordered a Margherita pizza. We had to send it back due to the crust being way underdone and floppy and flavorless. They put it in the oven longer only to return to us with well done almost burnt toppings and still underdone undercarriage! This pizza was worse than frozen pizzas I've had. Like grade school cafeteria pizza. Gah! Also the side of fries were no lie, about 10 fries that tasted like they were out of a frozen bag you get at the store. Our server had come over and poured water early in our dinner and asked if we needed anything... upon walking away as soon as she asked?? We were utterly confused. Also, the last at least 5x I've been here, a manager has stopped at our table to check in, and that nice little touch was great. Last night, of course when we experienced issues and sub-par food, no check in from a manager. It's sad to me because I've been coming here for years and this visit was so disappointing. read more

Went out with friends for dinner and were seated at a round table ( there were six of us) which makes it very easy to talk with everyone! The server was attentive and the ambiance was great! I ordered from the happy hour menu (half price M-F free 3-6pm on appetizers) chicken wings with celery and ranch dressing! I believe there may have been 8-10 wings since I took some home! Came in for lunch. Super quick seating and cool tavern/pub feel. Nice little area as well. I was sat right away and server helped me very quickly. Solids looking menu with lots of options. I settled on the street tacos but had an internal struggle with the daily special. Glad I did it was awesome. Really some of the best Maui I have had in a long time and each was a big hunk of fish. The street corn side was amazing. I almost got another bowl for dessert! Staff also supported each other well running food and clearing tables. Highly recommend this one. Only challenge was parking as limited space around back and I am not familiar with the area and driving a big ace truck from rental company so was more of a me issue but look for street options too! read more

I know there are quite a few of these in the Columbus area, but this was my first time trying one. First off, the staff here was great! We were greeted and seated right away during what seemed to be a lunch rush mid week. Our waitress was very friendly and other staff that walked by also checked in on us to see if we needed anything. The food is exactly what I would expect from any bar/tavern - nothing in particular stuck out good or bad, but I would consider going again for their happy hour. We did not try the drinks. Our friend had went there day before and had a great experience and we wanted to end our weekend by enjoying delicious food. We came to the Rusty Bucket while visiting Columbus. I really liked everything about our experience. Amanda really took care of us. She was friendly and efficient. I like the seating area. Ordered burgers and chili for takeout. The burgers were supposed to be rare, but they were gray all the way through - and the chili? Seriously the worst I've ever had. Canned is better. There were literally no pieces of meat, and probably a couple of dozen beans, if that many. It was more like a dipping sauce. Everything about this experience was.... fine? I really liked the blackberry lemonade, and the fish part of fish and chips was very good. The fries were too crunchy though, and I would have liked a little more flavor on the coleslaw. The weirdest issue was the service. Our waitress was great, but seemed annoyed by having to serve on the patio. I had made an OpenTable reservation to make sure we could sit on the patio (in a pandemic) but that reservation didn't seem to register with the hostess. Eventually the manager agreed to let us sit outside, but it felt like much more of a production than it should have been. I had a great experience at Rusty Bucket. We came in on a Saturday around 1 pm before the Ohio State game at 4. The game day atmosphere was very fun as they have a bar people can sit at and plenty of TVs to watches Because of it being game day, it was relatively crowded but we called ahead and were able to get a table for 6 immediately upon arrival. Our waitress was with us shortly after and was very attentive. We ordered Brussel sprouts and fried pickles to start. The Brussel sprouts were very crispy and had a lemon sauce that was delicious. For my entree, I ordered the salmon salad with chicken instead of salmon. The grilled chicken was well seasoned and the salad was all very fresh. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. The food is good here and there are some excellent servers, but their lack of attention to allergies has resulted in my family not being able to go there. A member of my family has a gluten allergy and they served him a full glutenous meal! This has happened several times, even when we have had the same servers. The last time we went there, we waited an hour for drinks and appetizers, and our meal came out 5 minutes after the appetizer. It was extremely disappointing. It really sucks to have to give this place up, but it's just both worth the risk for bad service and contamination. read more

Pub food, not a bad place. We visited several times when here whilst in town for a professional development event. They have full bar, and their food menu has a lot on it. I've had a burger here and the turkey club, both pretty good. If I had known at the time that I liked corned beef, I'd have tried the Reuben sandwich. Honestly, Rusty Bucket is probably my favorite casual sit down restaurant. For people who aren't familiar with them, I tell them RB is in the same classification as Applebee's, TGIFridays, Max & Erma's, etc. But the food at RB is more elevated and for sure the best! Since this location is near Capital U (my alma mater), I have been here countless times! I actually think it opened when I was in school there (circa 2008 opening, perhaps)? My favorite go-tos are the burger and the chicken strips with BBQ. The burger is honestly one of my favorites in all of Columbus. The meat is perfectly flavorful and slightly greasy (not too much grease though!). They always serve it on a warm toasted bun with all the traditional toppings. DELICIOUS! The tenders are excellent as well and although I am picky about my BBQ sauces, theirs is so good! I always ask for a larger side of BBQ for extra dipping! The fries (whether you get regular or sweet potato) are perfectly crispy and served with a delicious seasoning on top. All told, this is one of my favorite go-tos in Columbus. I have never had a bad experience and hope to be back soon! read more

Stopped here on the way to visit some relatives. Service was attentive, food was delicious and it was a nice atmosphere. Cheeseburgers were delicious and both were cooked to the preferred temperatures. Kids had the chicken fingers for an app and they really liked them as well. They were accommodating to some dietary restrictions we had in our group and never had to ask for drink refills as they just kept coming! Definitely recommend.
