This review is being written out of respect for Tristen P (our server) at the one and only Bareburger in Westfield, NJ. Did you have a bad day? A good day? A mediocre day? IT DOES NOT MATTER. All that matters is that you get to Bareburger PRONTO. As my brother-in-law has stated, he is literally going to DRIVE ACROSS THE COUNTRY MULTIPLE TIMES A YEAR TO HAVE ANOTHER BITE OF THE DELICIOUS BISON BURGER WITH WHAM-BAM SAUCE (TM) AND ANOTHER SWIG OF THEIR ICE COLD 34 OZ BEER. It is not a meal...it is a life-changing experience. If I've learned anything in my life, it's that YOU need to get over to Bareburger RIGHT NOW. To quote the great Ron Swanson of Parks and Rec, "never half-ass two things...whole-ass one thing." Bareburger has whole-assed their entire menu. So get your ass down to Bareburger. Love how inclusive this restaurant is and the amazing allergen menu they offer. It really makes you feel comfortable eating whether you're a vegetarian or carnivore, or have a host of allergies of which to be concerned. Amazing. Excellent service as well. read more

Although not my favorite burgers, this place is a great spot for families! It is very kid friendly, and the food is good, just not anything worth traveling for. The service was good and the restaurant kind of has diner vibes. read more

Bareburger has so many great options. They'll make your burger exactly how you want it with an enormous variety of toppings and patties...including plant-based options. I've been a fan of the chain for many years, but the Westfield location has the best servers. Allen is amazing! He is so fun and makes great recommendations from the menu. We always look forward to dining here and seeing him. read more

We checked out Bareburger after friends recommended it after trying the Jersey City location. It sure did not disappoint! Our waitress, Francesca was great! She was polite, big smile on her face, helpful with our questions and concern. The food was soooo good! I had the wagyu burger while my husband had the impossible burger. It was tasty plus the different sauces made it even tastier in combo with fries and onion rings. The restaurant itself wasn't too big but plenty room for all guests. The bathrooms were clean. 3rd visit. I like it, the staff has been great. Madison was our waitress twice and did a GREAT job! Food is very good...many choices. Love the full bar. Music isn't great & a bit too loud, but I sure they'll figure that out. Once Covid lifts, I hope people will go to watch sports there. Fun spot...I recommend trying it out. Brussel sprouts just tasted like oil, no salt at all, and the cheese/honey was just thrown on top. Fries were ok, but not that fresh. I got the fish filet in the collard green wrap with cheese, sauces, jalapeños, and even with all that, the fish tasted like a fish stick from when i was getting lunch in grade school. My boyfriend got a double cheeseburger, regular beef, dry like a hockey puck. We both didn't finish it. Got 2 cocktails that were ok. Spent 100$, should have just gone to five guys. 2nd mediocre experience here, not worth the price. read more

Service was great and the restaurant itself was very cute. I liked that they gave you iPads to look at the menu with. I was pretty disappointed though that a lot of the items on the online menu weren't available at the actual restaurant. I decided to get the chipotle black bean burger and the mixed regular & sweet potato fries. I really did appreciate that option because sometimes you want both. The burger was okay, kind of falling apart and not very sturdy. The flavors tasted very lemony and I wish the burger had raw onions instead of pickled but overall it was average. I was pleasantly surprised that the bill was quite a bit lower than I thought it would be. I would come back but there are definitely better burger chains out there in my opinion. read more

Meh. The concept, design, and theme are cool - I really wanted to like it. That's why it has 4 stars on here from most people. For me, the burger, however, just didn't do it for me. Bareburger is awesome! ....I love that they have options if you're vegan, or if you have any food restrictions/allergies. I also love that you're not just restricted to a plant-based burger with nothing else to put on it- they also offer vegan buns,cheese, and some of the sauces are vegan as well. The burger was over cooked, very greasy, and the order was wrong- I asked for no sauce. I explained I did not want a certain ingredient (it causes GI issues) that I had read about was part of the burger inside. I was assured that this ingredient would not be on my burger. Halfway into eating it I realize that the ingredient was in there and I did have G.I. issues afterwards. The french fries tasted very salty and soggy...it was obvious to me the fries were old. Service was slow. I did appreciate that they did ask if my dog needed water. I never had this issue in the Morristown location was around. read more

Talk about a great burger. Super tasty and moist (not easy to do when you eat burgers medium well). I found out they were training staff last night so the food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen. They must have apologized 10 times. This place is just too inconsistent for me. I used to go a lot, but will likely look elsewhere. Some days the staff is great (smiling, helpful, gets the order right) and some days you can't wait to pay and leave (wait is too long to order, order comes out wrong, wait is too long to get the check, staff members look annoyed). I don't mind paying $18 for a specialty burger without fries... but please get the order right and look happy to be working there (that part is 100% controllable). Otherwise, cool environment. I don't know the last time I've had such awful service. Ordered a vegan shake that had milk in it and I have a dairy allergy. My burger was completely wrong and they took away my fries before I finished them. Very slow and uncaring service. Won't return and don't recommend especially if you have any allergies. read more

Ordered from Bareburger last night. WOW it was crowded! They said the food would take 45 minutes to One hour. Got a text in 20 minutes it was ready. Drove over and waited 10 minutes to get my order than another 5 to pay. This was frustrating even for Covid. Obviously the food was cold and soggy when we got it home. Don't go on a weekend. I waited patiently for 30 mins and finally I asked the server/ waiter how much longer. He picks up a bag that was sitting on top of expo line that obviously was sitting up there for awhile. Service is very poor. We waited for a long time before the many workers asked us if we wanted to be seated. Then, they told us to go to the table but it wasn't clear which table they wanted us at. Servers all look like high schoolers and weren't particularly friendly nor helpful. Forgot drinks, forgot sauces, forgot. Music is stupid loud, very hard to talk. Or think. I guess that's "cool"? Now on to the good news: the food is pretty good. Much of ours felt warm and would have been amazing if it was still hot. But it was good, even in it's warm form. The one real problem with the burgers was how the meat was cooked: me and my wife both ordered medium rare. Mine actually was, maybe even rare, but my wife's didn't have a hint of pink. I don't think she would have graded as generously as I did. If you're going to focus on burgers, you should be damn sure that you get that part right. Came here on a whim with my boyfriend. We were walking around Westfield until we stumbled across this place. There were plenty of indoor seating, but it was a nice day, so we wanted to take advantage of the weather and decided to do the limited outdoor seating instead. The burgers don't come with sides, so we got the side onion rings and organic sweet fries (sweet potato fries). Both were great. The onion rings had some nice seasoning and it was crunchy. I order the Dilly Chick and honestly, I was too into my burger that I forgot what my boyfriend ordered. Either way, both were delicious since nothing was left by the end of our meal. That, or we were just super hungry, could've been both. My boyfriend did end his meal with a strawberry banana shake though. It was creamy and not too sweet ( which, as I get older, learned to appreciate). Overall, we'll be back! read more
