We went for lunch this past Saturday afternoon m, since the weather was so beautiful, we sat upstairs, outside. Barge 295 knocked the crawfish out of the park! It is "early" in the season but their crawfish were all fairly big! They were cooked perfectly, seasoned with love, very easy to peal, and the claw meat was also very easy to get the meat out! They had a one man band, Leo, he sang a variety of music, was entertaining, and not too loud, we could still have conversations without having to yell. The crawfish here are amazing! The size was good and perfectly seasoned! The location was cool too and dope on the water spot. We sat upstairs after being greeted- our waitress was why I took away one star being that we were first timers we did have questions but she was we a bit snippy for my liking, we would ask her for stuff and her response was off putting. For example after I ate my crawfish I asked for lemons for my hands she said there is a bathroom right there. Great crawfish with excellent flavor--definitely some of the best in the area. The seasoning was spot on and the food overall was really good. The only downside was the service; we had to flag down the waitress a few times whenever we needed something. The crowd has died down and still no food. People showed up way later than us and got their crawfish before us. The crawfish was not worth waiting over an hour for. I've been dying to try this restaurant out for awhile, so my dad took me here for my birthday. As this was our first time coming here I wasn't sure how anything worked but when we entered it says seat yourself. We do that but then decide to eat outside. I go inside to flag down someone to just make sure a server knows we are outside. So I wait at the bar and a server tells me she will be with me in a bit. I didn't go upstairs but downstairs all tables were full. I assume she was busy? Had been wanting to come in and try their new food menu since the revamp, finally got around to it this afternoon. We ordered the crab cake, a 1/2 pound of royal reds, and the boudin balls. Crab cake was amazing, it's full of lump crab not a ton of filler, the butter sauce, capers and dill are all in perfect harmony not too much of any of the components. The royal reds were seasoned really well and served with a butter sauce, seasoning on them was also spot on, well seasoned without overpowering the sweet royal red flavor. The boudin balls were some of the best I had in the area, they are now made with Best Stop boudin, and iykyk. Wish I had taken pictures before diving in, just gives me an excuse to return soon. If you had tried here back before the reopening and weren't impressed I would say definitely give it another try you will not be disappointed. read more

Had lunch with a friend at Barge 295 on Tuesday. In a word, AMAZING! The crawfish queso was perfectly flavored and the cracklings they serve to dip with were so fresh they were still crackling on the table. The crabcake was unlike any crabcake I've ever had and had the amazing flavor of NOLA style crab stuffed snapper, but without the fish. Perfectly seasoned. Two large platters of crawfish perfectly done, straight out of the kitchen were the hit with amazing flavor and texture. The feature that came through across the meal was how fresh everything was and prepared a-la-minute. Kudos to this amazing place and the very attentive staff. If you're put off by eating crawfish barehanded, don't worry, they provide nitrile gloves that get the job done! I will be back! read more

We took a drive down from Houston to hang out by the water. We saw online this restaurant was on a barge, so had to go have a look. We sat on the top floor over looking the water which is really calming. We split the 295 oysters they were sooooo good, the Melted cheese and artichoke went so well with the cooked oyster. The we split the po boy which was also fantastic. We were not given a drinks/cocktail menu which would have been nice, our server was ok we were never given silverware and she didn't come back for a while after taking the first part of our order but we still had a good experience and would recommend. read more

You can choose to sit wherever available, I recommend the top deck. Restaurant sits right on the water so there is a really nice view. Our server was super friendly and helpful. Food took a while to come out but it was made fresh. Ordered the kids the fried fish basket and two dozen oysters for the adults. They also full bar as well! 3.5 stars. This review is mainly for the unlimited crawfish on Tuesdays! Came here with co-workers for the ayce crawfish. It's $30 for ayce which comes with all the fixins - pretty good deal if you ask me. They also have a "chili oil" reminiscent of Viet cajun sauce that you can get on the side. It's normally $7/lb so if you eat 5 lb you've made your money's worth. Service was a little slow, but we noticed that the bartender also had all the tables. She actually did a great job for working solo, but it would be nice if there were more servers taking orders. Overall, the crawfish deal is not bad for the money. Crawfish is decent - not the best but also not the worst. Not sure I'd come back unless I get invited to come here again. Drove in from Galveston for Sunday Funday. Sat upstairs under cover in bar area Covid masks not required and worn by no one. Took about 10 minutes to be acknowledged. Watched a lot of people turn over their jet skies in Galveston bay while waiting! LOL! Our waitress was Carly and she was busy when we arrived at 1pm. From the looks of it...I think she was handling a lot by herself; two other waitresses showed up about 30 minutes later and the process went smoother as far as getting assistance. They don't have a drink menu soo, my brain had to "think"...ugh! I got a vodka with OJ/cranberry...it was a weak pour so I tried a "Truly" seltzer...blah, no flavor there either. We shared the pulled pork fries with cheese and jalapeño...they were good. Live music came on about 3; Leo Mendoza (hottie who can sing and play guitar) Very casual place on a barge in the water ...be ready to sway with the waves while seated. OK, so my wife and I tried this place last night. Haven't been in there since it was the Turtle Club, probably 40 years ago! Choppy on the Lake so you could feel the barge moving, pretty cool. Server was excellent except I asked for a chilled mug and got a styrofoam cup, she may not have heard me, cannot drink cold beer in styrofoam, so switched to wine and got it in a styrofoam cup!! Really need to invest in some glassware! Tried the lobster roll and it was very good as were the fries. Kind of weird, there was a bible study group there and fairly noisy.
