Very accommodating, from letting me know the bartender could adjust my drink if it was not sweet enough (my concern with a bourbon drink) to bringing us more hot bread to offering and taking multiple pictures. He checked on us often. The bourbon pumpkin smash had just the right amount of sweetness. The hot bread and butter was great. I ordered the shrimp scampi. I appreciated the spinach and tomatoes. It was a lighter dish than I expected but turned out to be perfect for a warm night. It was lacking flavor but adding generous amounts of salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese made a big difference. My companion had the tropical crab salad and it was fantastic. Refreshing and flavorful. The whole, sliced avocado was a nice touch. And it was just a vibrant looking dish. We sat outside and a gaggle of ducks kept hanging out with us. I thought it was cute (minus the duck waste), but it was a bit much for my companion who doesn't like birds on the least). Went to Opus for a friend's birthday dinner. We were in the 2nd floor dining room, which was a great room for groups. We had a party of nearly 30 people, and there were two other large parties in the same dining room, and it wasn't crowded. Great room for a group event! Windows all around, nice scenery of the marina and trees. This dining room also opens up to a large patios overlooking the water, trees, etc. It was a really pretty. A piano player played live music as we dined, took photos and took turns sharing kind words about the birthday girl. All of that was the best part. The service was just okay. I'd give it a 6.5/10. They were timid and didn't move quickly. What I did appreciate is that they had two main servers plus two floater guys who just kept refilling water and bringing bread and straws. These guys were the real superstars. The food... eh. I took out my Yelp menu vision and read the reviews, and nothing really seemed like it was going to be good. I settled on the Oysters Rockefeller and a cup of gumbo. The oysters came out hard and dry, but we'd waited so long that I ate them. 5/10. The gumbo was just so-so. 5.5/10. Everyone around me said the same thing. Someone got the loaded shrimp scampi and set it back because it was completely tasteless. Others got the shrimp and grits and other entrees. When asked about how they were, everyone said, "Ehhh, you know... it's all right. Not that good, but not terrible either. Just okay." That was the consensus across the 30-person group. I had made a reservation online for Mother's Day brunch at Opus Ocean Grille and, to be extra sure everything was okay, I even called the restaurant afterward to confirm they could see my reservation on their end. As soon as the call connected, the lady asked if my reservation was for 8 people. I said no, I had just made a reservation for the following day at 11am and simply wanted to make sure everything looked fine on their side. She responded "oh okay," and never once mentioned there was any issue, overbooking, or possibility that our reservation would not be honored. We hung up, and naturally I believed everything was confirmed. The next morning, we arrived on time for our reservation. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere already felt uncomfortable. The staff stared at us without greeting us until a woman finally approached and asked if we needed something. I gave the reservation name, and she looked through a notebook full of scribbled notes before saying she couldn't find it and would get the manager. A man came over, asked for my name again, and then bluntly stated, "We don't have you on the list. We're fully booked until 8pm." I was honestly shocked, especially because I had specifically called the night before to confirm everything. Instead of apologizing or trying to help resolve the situation, his demeanor felt cold, dismissive, and as though we were inconveniencing them simply by showing up for a reservation we had made and confirmed. He then stated, "We emailed you stating this." Because there was already a line forming behind us, I simply said "okay" and walked out. As we were walking to the car, I checked my email -- and sure enough, the "email" had been sent at 9:55am THAT SAME MORNING. Our reservation was for 11am. Cancelling a reservation barely an hour beforehand on Mother's Day, after I had already called to confirm the reservation the previous night, was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. This was supposed to be our first time trying this restaurant, but unfortunately the experience and the way the situation was handled left a very sour impression before we even sat down. read more

This is where friends and I meet for dinner on a Saturday about every three to four months. There is mostly seafood, but offers steaks as well. I had the red snapper with étouffée which was either awesome or I was starving I hadn't eaten since breakfast. The bread offering was great for dipping ans was fresh and had a crisp flaky crust. The friends had steak filet and tuna steak respectively. They were both pleased. They also like to get some top shelf whisky Macallen 12 year old for a better price than at other restaurants we go to. Service was outstanding. Our server was very on top of our details and was knowledgeable of the menu and bar offerings. I always like going there because it is tucked into the marina and is off the beaten path yet offers great higher-end selections at decent prices. read more

I went there for a happy hour, and if there is one thing you can't pass on, it would be the eggplant bruschetta with shrimp. The eggplant was melt in your mouth. Have to say the potatoes were the star of the show, could've eaten just the potatoes and would have been good. The lobster thermidor was very good, sauce was rich, could have used a tad bit more salt but overall very good. Potatoes roasted to perfection, great balance of salt and crispy skin. The shrimp scampi was good, portion size with no complaints; shrimp were fresh, sauce was light and creamy. We ordered the cherry cheesecake chimichanga with side of ice cream per our waitress's recommendation. It was spot on. Dessert was flaky, light, not too heavy and the ice cream was a nice balance. It was nice to see something different on the dessert menu. Our check was decent, meal was great. We will definitely be back soon to try other dishes. Over cooked shrimp, chewy lobster, slow service, and overinflated egos from the staff. They would tell a Michelin Star chef he was wrong. Listening to the tables beside you tells you the patrons are there to be seen, not for the food(can't avoid hearing them because the tables are so close together, so forget privacy). It's supposed to be fine dining, but it's a facade. At least they couldn't mess up opening a bottle of wine. I will say they offer some good options there. Needless to say, won't go back. read more

Our table shared oysters, tuna tartare, calamari, and jalapeño shrimp as appetizers. The tuna was probably the best of these. The table bread served in a white lunch sack was hard. Leave that alone. I indulged in two naughty coconut cocktails-delicious! I would've had more if I could've. The SHRIMP AND SCALLOP AU POIVRE was good, but on the heavier side. I ended up eating the seafood and veggies and left the angel hair alone. The bill came before we could order dessert. So we paid and ordered vanilla bean ice cream with bread pudding (since they didn't have crème brûlée). All-in-all, the ambiance and location are romantic. We tried the bar menu at Opus and were not disappointed. The ambiance in the bar was very classy. We started with a spicy Mexican Martini ( my favorite martini). Moving on, we had fried shrimp, French fries, and calamari with sweet and sour dipping sauce. The two bartenders did a great job considering that they had a full bar as well as making drinks for the dining room guests.
