Bari Pasta & Pizza came to my attention last year. Valentine's Day was approaching; Bari's was popping up on social media. They make pizzas shaped like a heart; they have fried mozzarella shaped like a heart; and they have pizza bites shaped like rose buds. But their Santa Ana location is too far for away for me. Leading up to Halloween, Bari's popped up again on social media. They make pizza bites shaped like a skull. I also became aware that they now have a location in Torrance. It's still too far for a sole purpose destination trip; but I would consider trying if in the area. I was in the area. This Bari's location is interesting. It is located in a shopping center. Walmart is the anchor tenant. There are retail stores, small businesses and restaurants. There is plenty of parking. The center is located near the 405 FWY, Normandie on/off ramps. But it seems to be an industrial area. There isn't a lot of residential to support it. The store itself still has the aura of a new build. A typical shoebox retail footprint, the kitchen is located in the back half of the space. The front of the shop has a small dining area. There is a horseshoe counter in the center of the room, and some table seating along the sides. All in all, the shop is clean, bright and comfortable for dine in. On this first occasion, I ordered an individual 10" personal sized pepperoni pizza ($12.99) and a fountain drink ($3.49). With tax ($1.65), my ticket was $18.13 before gratuity. The pizza I ordered tasted good. The ratios of crust, sauce, cheese and pepperoni was good. The sauce had a little "tang" to it. The perimeter crust had the features of a good bread. I ate the pizza on site, so I don't know how well it would travel. If I was in the area, I would consider eating here again. If I wanted their novelty products, I know they are here. However, while good, (personally) I can't say that this is a "destination" in of itself. read more

You get greeted as soon as you walk in the door. These gingerbread pizza buddies are filled with mozzarella, garlic, and pesto. I have been here three times so far and I have been pleased every time I have gone. I want to start off by saying it is crazy that I have not tried the viral skull or gingerbread man bites, but I have tried a good amount of everything else. So far, my favorite thing is the pasta. I would say that the garlic bread could have a bit more flavor, but who am I to complain when you're getting a nice serving of pasta and a small loaf of bread for only about $15 . We have also tried the flaming, hot mozzarella hearts, those were just OK. I feel as if the cheese was not fully melt it and they just weren't that great for $10 for four hearts. My mom tried the pizza and said it was really good. It is on the more expensive side, but what do you expect from a small family owned business... I know I will be back to try more items as it is local and it does have a good variety of options. I want to try a salad and some more of the Little side items that they offer. But again it is a little more on the pricey side. As far as service, it is nothing to brave home about, but when you ask for something they will give it to you. Finally got to try this place and I had a great experience! The inside was sleek and clean and the staff at the front was kind and patient! We ordered at the front and they gave us a number to place on our table. The wait for the food wasn't too long, but it looked absolutely delicious! I know the skulls were trending a bit online, but I for sure enjoyed the actual pizza more. The skulls were filled with mozzarella and had a really good cheese pull and the sauce they give it with really put it together. I really enjoyed the BBQ chicken pizza. REALLY?! My wife and I come here from time to time. My wife likes their meatball sandwiches. I've tried different items; pizza, calzones, pastas. All have been decent. Today, however, I received the full negative experience in food and service. More so the service. I ordered the deli sub to try something different. Comes with the usual stuff and dressing. I asked for extra mayo. I asked if they had mustard. No mustard, not even packets; really? No mustard? The young Hispanic girl who was attending to us (the only person who was the cashier/server) didn't even bother to ask or look. I went next door to Quiznos and got several packets of mustard. No problem. My sandwich came. I put the mustard on. Life was good. At the first bite, the sandwich tasted like something I could've made at home. I also noticed that the sandwich barely had any mayo or dressing on it. I ate a quarter of the sandwich and asked the girl if I could have a side of dressing because they hardly put any on and my sandwich was dry. She tells me, and get this, the extra dressing to put on my dry sandwich is going to cost me $1.69, plus tax I'm sure. I was stunned. After I expressed my surprise, she chose to die on that hill and not even try to ask anyone to see if they could give me a little bit of dressing for my sandwich. Unless you go to In-n-Out burgers, today's young workforce couldn't care less about customer service. Anyway, I was just amazed at the pettiness of the situation. Quiznos next door saved the day again. I ran next door and they gave me a side of Italian dressing. The Quiznos staff need to train this girl from Bari's on what customer service looks like, because her management sure didn't train her. When I walked up with cash, the cashier seemed ready to turn me away because the registers had already been counted and closed. I almost walked back out. I actually had a card and could have paid that way. I just wish she had led with that option instead. I visited this location and was greeted by the friendly employees. The pizza skills came & my son & inhaled them. While we were still hungry we ordered a medium pizza.
