I just got back from New York this week and liked the pizza so I yelped New York Pizza. I was in San Pedro so I drove to the San Pedro location, but it was closed, so I came here. The door was open and Will greeted me. I was looking at the margherita pizza, but I noticed the toppings looked fresh. I found out the meatball was beef, because I don't eat pork. I ended up getting a pizza with peppers, onions, garlic, and basil, and I also got the meatball. Their dough was really fresh, and I saw them making it in the back. Everything was fresh, including the tomatoes. It felt like a great start coming back from New York. Five stars, and five-star service. Everyone here was so friendly I'm in this area quite a bit, so I'll be back. read more

NY pizza slices in Torrance! Located on Anza Ave in Torrance near del Amo Blvd in a tiny strip mall. Was greeted in and took a look at the menu. Pleased to see a combo offering a salad, a big slice (cut in half), and a fountain drink for $10. 35 cents more if paying by card. My salad and drink came out quickly. Then my fresh slice of pepperoni was ready shortly thereafter. Tasty! Service was friendly and kind. They also thanked me as I exited. There are a few Bonello's in the South Bay area. My best friend and I really wanted pizza before heading down to Fiesta Hermosa in Hermosa Beach. We found Bonello's Pizza through Yelp and decided on this place! As soon as we walked in, my best friend, who is from New Jersey, said, "Feels like this place is from Jersey!". The menu was pretty straightforward and they definitely had the vegetarian cheese pizza slices available for me! I ordered a side salad, no olives or tomatoes but add onions with ranch and it was delicious!! They shred their lettuce here and to my friend and me it enhances the whole salad experience. Rarely do I come across a place with shredded lettuce for their side salads. I also ordered a slice cheese pizza with toppings added (garlic, onions, and basil) and a regular slice of cheese pizza. My friend got a slice of pepperoni and meatballs pizza and he loved it! They have fountain drinks here with non soda options, which is great for me. Went to grab a pizza to take to a friends house and the Bonellos by my house in Lomita where I normally go, was closed today so I thought I'd try this one. Now I think that at one time they were all family and went their different ways. Anyway there was always a fight over who had the better pizzas and now that I've gone I can weigh in. Ive always had a great experience with bonello's! The staff is always friendly, professional, and efficient. I never feel rushed to order and they're always patient with me when I bounce around with my choice of toppings (sorry lol) The ambiance is nice too. It's not noisy and you can easily hold a conversation without needing to yell. And as for the food. Well I keep coming back. I love the New York style pizza. The crust is thinner and they are generous with their toppings. This type of pizza has a higher protein to carb ratio which is what I prefer! It's appropriately greasy where I don't feel as bad and don't mind eating an extra 1 or 2 slices. This is my go to place when I need to buy pizza for a party so I highly recommend. read more

Tiny pizza parlor, about 4 booths for seating, and very local. The guy taking orders was nice and our food was ready pretty quick. The pizza was decent, it was very thin, and I thought it needed more sauce. All that aside, the cheese was cheesy and there were plenty of pepperonis, so I enjoyed that. The woman who took my order was very friendly, and the pizza was ready in about 15 minutes. It was around 8 p.m. The pizza was really good. I had two slices, and my girls finished the rest they enjoyed it a lot. The dough had great flavor and texture, and the sauce, cheese, and pepperoni were all on point. Eating here instantly reminds me of the pizza shops I went to growing up in New York. When I first moved to California, I lived in Hermosa Beach and was constantly told, "This place has New York-style pizza." Trust me... they did not. It wasn't until I moved to Torrance in 1999 that I finally found Bonello's Pizza--the closest thing to true New York pizza I'd had since leaving home. The food is consistently great, from the perfectly cooked crust to the classic flavors that just feel right. But it's more than the pizza. The atmosphere is exactly what I was missing--warm, familiar, unpretentious, and welcoming, just like the neighborhood pizza places back east. The owners are wonderful and have always treated us like family, which makes every visit even better. This isn't just a pizza place--it's a little slice of New York right here in Torrance. Great NY style pizza outside of NY! A little biased as a SoCal native with nostalgic memories of real NY pizza, but their fresh-out-of-the-oven pepperoni pizza was 5/5. There was a nice crunch on the crust; it was overall just tasty. Got the combo which includes one large slice of pepperoni or cheese, a soda, and salad for $9. The salad was tasty but a bit overdressed in my opinion (a couple Tbsp of dressing at the bottom of the bowl) and comprised of shredded lettuce, olives, a few tomatoes, and mozzarella. Dressing taste was just right though. We also got the combo but with the garlic bread, which appeared to be made of a sandwich roll and was a little dry by the time we ate it. Flavor was decent though. Agree with other reviewers that service is bomb. Super friendly. Patient while I decided what to get, and accommodated my request for water before ordering and a mix of the pink lemonade/sprite for my beverage :)). Ambience is super casual with I think 4 booths, with fun NY souveniers around and varied wall decor. Slight hole-in-the-wall vibe. Plenty of parking on a Sat at lunch time. I was craving NY pizza and found this joint nearby. Walked in and was helped straight away by the 2 dudes behind the counter. They only have cheese or pepperoni slices but they are massive, 3 slices are basically 6, and pretty cheap too. Three slices only set me back $10 I believe. Right amount of cheese, a mild spice flavor to the sauce, however the dough and crust was disappointing. It seemed a bit undercooked so it was quite chewy and could have used a bit more fire and crispiness. They have a couple lunch special offers so be on the lookout. Parking lot is cramped but not impossible to grab a spot during lunch hours. A few seats inside, mostly full and lively during lunch. Would consider coming back if craving a NY slice or two, but would have to double check it's not undercooked. read more
