My dogs where dropped off at 8:55 am and I showed up at 3:00 PM because I hadn't gotten a call thinking they didn't have my number or something . I was told they hadn't even started working on my two dogs but they where about to in a little bit because they where backed up . So I call at 5:22 to see how much longer being that they close at 5:30 and was told they where still backed up and hadn't started on my dogs yet and also they would be done in a while . Ok so I don't care what the excuse is ,I have no clue if the dogs are in cages with water or have been able to use the restroom outside their cages for at least 8 1/2 ho I've avoided places like PetSmart foe this same reason . They say oh your pets just fine we have water and we walk them when in fact they don't leave their cage for like 6 hours straight and don't have water bowls either . Even with water sitting in a cage waiting to be groomed from basically 9:00 am to past 5:30 is insane . At this point I'm within reason of being upset to a certain degree . I get they are behind maybe lack help or whatever but damn if you had too many cuts lined up for one day all you had to say was sorry we are booked and left it at that . I appreciate taking my dogs in but don't understand how a small poodle and Shih Tzu take 9 hours to get groomed . Even with doing one dog an hour which i doubt is the case you'd had to have had 15-18 dogs or more all before them if you had two groomers at the least . Even if you had only 12 dogs before them that's way to much do offer to cut in the time you guys open and close . If it's not then why is taking so long? read more

Update Review for Bark Avenue: I am retracting my 5 star review, after our most recent experience I can only give 2. We dropped our dog off at 9:15 AM for grooming, and after 10 hours with no updates, we finally got a call at 6:45 PM saying our dog was ready. When I asked why it took so long, I was told there were "other dogs ahead of ours." That explanation might be understandable once--but failing to call, not answering the phone, and offering no discount for such a huge inconvenience is simply poor customer service. When I asked the manager how they planned to keep our business, I was told they "hoped we understood their out-of-control schedule." That's not an answer. Every client should feel that their dog--and their time--matters, not that the company's mismanagement takes priority. Yes, the grooming itself was great. But customer service is more than the end result--it's about communication, respect, and accountability. Charging $165 without acknowledging the disruption is unacceptable. Bark Avenue may know how to care for dogs, but they also need to learn how to care for customers. read more
