This business is unfortunately, very unprofessional, and not a safe space for your dog. Especially if it is a small dog. My dog is very sweet, not ever aggressive and plays very well with all dogs. However, the pet of the week, Bella, has attacked him more than once upon leaving daycare. The first time, I was very upset and assured that they would address the situation. The most recent time, he was attacked by Bella and then several other large dogs. The owner did not go back to break up the fight and when he emerged from the day care area he had been visibly bitten on his ear, back, leg and neck. I did request a refund on my package of 10 visits. I did express my concern and frustration that this happened with the same dog again. The owner knew we were heading to the vet and did not offer to pay the bill. She also did not express concern for our dog. The next day, Bella, the dog that attacked our pug was pet of the week on the Bark Bark facebook page and there was a picture poking fun at a pug. I had trusted this company with my pet and they did not take care of him. I hope that any small dog owner thinks twice before trusting them. I cannot extend that trust again. read more

I really want to love this place but in two out of the three times my puppy has been here for day care we've had unfortunate incidents. The first day was great. On his second stay he caught an infection and was running a fever. He then started coughing up white foam. It ended up being nothing serious, but the vet bills were over $450 bucks. He said no more day care for at least a month. A month later I took him back to day care. He spent most of the day being stalked by two dogs who kept constantly humping him. This went on for hours and the trainers never did anything about it. After 3 hours I had to call and tell them to keep an eye out for my dog. The poor thing couldn't even lie down or get water without the other two bullies jumping on him. I mean cmon, you're job is to watch the dogs. Stop socializing with each other a little bit and look at what they're doing. But like I said, I really want to like this place, it had great potential. I hope that I've just had bad luck. I'll go back one more time and that will be the deciding factor to know if we're ever coming back again. read more

Specifically told them that my dog needs to eat 3 times/day as he has bilious vomiting syndrome and will be sick if he doesn't and even though I had times labeled on his food, they didn't feed him his afternoon meal. Not sure if he got sick, but upset that they didn't do as I asked. So if your dog has specific health needs, proceed with caution... 2. Hours aren't great. Only open until 5p on sat so kind of Forced to leave dog overnight when we may not want to. Otherwise, staff is nice and I love watching my boy on the webcam! read more

So after my horrible experience at the Pet Set, I tried Bark Bark which is also in my neighborhood. I can confidently recommend this groomer. The owner Vivian was great and, to her credit, didn't bad mouth her competition but gave me confidence in her business and their ethics. I met the groomers and they told me how my dogs behaved during grooming and what they like and what they didn't like. I'm not much of a person to leave reviews, but I feel this place deserves it. First off the staff is friendly and always happy. I took my dog Ivan in to do a temperament test to see if he would be able to stay over night and for day care. He is somewhat skeptical with strangers and was very shy with the staff. After I picked him up he was so happy and got straight A's on his report card. I booked his day for his over night stay because i was going out of town and felt comfortable leaving him there. After I picked him up after my trip he was so tired from playing so much and slept for practically 1 1/2 days straight. I know he feels comfortable because he licked one of the staff members which he never does with anyone. No complaints from me or Ivan! read more

I used to take my dog to El Segundo for boarding and play, because as a rescue, that is where he was boarded. It is a huge facility and there were lots of dogs, but he would come home smelling like pee. Then I switched to another local daycare, but the facility was small, hot and I would find fleas on him afterwards. When I pick up Logan, from Bark! Bark!, he smells so fresh and he is tired from playing all day. A tired dog is a well behaved dog. I am not saying that my Logan is perfect, he is put on "Time out" when he gets snappy with other dogs, but he comes back happy and playful. I watch him all day long on the web cam. When I don't see him, I know he is on time out. The people that work there are observant and inform me of his behavior, during his stay. Trust me, I spend hours watching the webcam. I also board Logan, during trips. He has a special diet, and the people there are very good about following our precise instructions. They put up with me calling everyday, while on my trips, to inquire about my fur baby and don't make me fell like an idiot for calling so much. I would have given them 5 stars, but I did have one grooming experience that wasn't great. I have an Australian Shepard, he is a big boy around 85 lbs. I usually take him in for a Spaw Day, where he plays in the playroom, until he is groomed. They ask me what time I am picking him up, so that he will be ready. This time I took him in fora grooming on the weekend, when I picked him up, I didn't notice that he was still damp, until I got home. His collar was soaked through, as though he was bathed with it on. When my BF sat on him, so that we could finish drying him, my BF's butt was all wet. My dog is super bushy, so improper drying can (and DID) lead to hot spots. I called them right away, and took back the tip that I had left. The very next day, Vivian called me and set things straight. Now, I only have Emerald, groom Logan, and she does a fantastic job. read more

Bark Bark was such a great find! We searched in Long Beach for a great doggy day care. After researching 4 or 5, we took our chance on Bark Bark. I was really impressed with how friendly and professional the owner was, we didn't have an appointment we dropped in to check it out and Vivian was super friendly and had great customers service skills in addition to being very knowledgable, which is really important for us. She answered most of our questions and made us really feel comfortable without being pushy. The atomsphere is light and bright and smells wonderful! It just felt "right" for us and Finn. I really think he is going to like it. In addition being a great place, it's very close to home, which makes it even better, very cool! read more

This is in regards to grooming services. PROS: They were able to find me an appointment time to come in when I called in the morning. Staff were all friendly. Reasonably priced. They didn't force blow drying on him when he didn't like it. CONS: poor communication. I was told it would take ~2 hrs but it took 4. I called after 3hrs since I understand sometimes things run later and it was my puppy's first time. When I asked the status, the lady said it would be another hour. I expressed my surprise (as this would make the total time double). She said that it was because he didn't like the blow dryer so they had to hand dry. I understood but told her that he was brought in 3hrs ago. That's when she then said it was because the girl grooming our dog was running a little behind... Personally I don't think that 2hrs over is the same as "a little behind" and a dog not wanting to be blow dried also does not equal 2 extra hours. Additionally he had a lot of white flakes all over and after I left I saw he'd been cut on the back of his right leg. I suggest that it would be better business policy to call a client if running behind schedule and if you accidentally cut a dog. I appreciated being informed that he didnt like blow dryers but it felt as though they just came up with an excuse instead of being upfront that they were also running a lot behind. I would have just appreciated being told that they were running late already and that they accidentally cut his leg if it was because he was moving. But these things were not communicated well unfortunately. I wanted to try the doggy daycare but now am hesitant since I felt communication was lacking. I have been taking Lucy here since she was 6 months. She is now going to be 4! I have done grooming daycare boarding training and have loved all of it! All groomers are super friendly and come out and ask you what type of cut you would like each time. They give u reminder calls as well. I love that if I drop her off to daycare I can watch from my house to see how she is doing! The trainer Danny is great as well! I went for puppy lessons and learned great techniques. Been getting my dog groomed here for a long time and have loved them so far, but recently, when I picked my dog up after a grooming, I noticed a little knick on his nose . Then a 3 days later when I took off the bandana that they tie on, there was a cleaned up, 1-2 " SLICE on the back of my pup's neck. I called Bark Bark and spoke to the groomer. She said she never saw anything. Now I understand, the accidents happen, but she should've come clean. If this had happened since he'd been back from the groomers, wouldn't there have been blood.....there wasn't. And it was a big slice on a small dog. Not sure what to do at this point, but my dog's next grooming maybe somewhere else, or a mobile. read more

UPDATE! UPDATE! I went in w/ Mr. Pix yesterday to use the self-bath and we had a wonderful time!!!! Vivian (the owner) was super friendly and cool as usual. She treated us like superstars. What wonderful customer service! :) I guess I misunderstood the shampoo situation before. They give you an entire bottle to be used on your doggy. And the oatmeal shampoo that I chose before just doesn't lather up too much. My bad! We chose the Berry shampoo this time around (smells great...yum) and Vivian was kind enough to recommend the Furminator treatment. I had no idea this existed. It's a botanical shampoo that you apply and massage in, it helps to remove and thin out the undercoat (all that nasty fur that sheds LIKE EVERYWHERE!). Let me tell you...that stuff was magical! Thanks for recommending it Vivian! We will always use it now. Mr. Pickles has never looked so handsome! What a great experience. I highly recommend Bark! Bark! :) read more

Once you walk in, it truly feels like a spa. The simple design is adorable. I take my sweetpea to Bark, Bark to get groomed about once/month. Everyone is great with her, who can often be a stubborn 120lbs of love to move. It usually takes about an hour, whereas other places have taken over 2. My little guy Rocco loves Bark Bark! He plays with his friends and comes home happy and exhausted! The staff is awesome, friendly and knowledgeable. I get a report on his day and how much fun he had. I took my Siberian husky here for an 11 day stay. I was hesitant because my girl is only 5 months. When I took her in they made me show all her records and she had to stay for a temperament test, which she loved! When I returned to drop her off for her stay, they made me give emergency contact informations incase anything happened to my girl while my husband and I were gone on vacation. They also communicated with me via email while I was gone, and called and talked with my sister (my emergency contact) about some concerns they had. And she also got a complimentary bath before we picked her up. She smelled, looked, and felt great! I know she was well taken care of and came home exhausted! This place is amazing. I have a 2 year old dalmatian that would go to daycare every day if he could. The staff is great and never mind when my spotty guy is so excited that he practically busts through the door. They keep track of all the vaccines and will call to let you know if they've played hard enough to get scratched. I always feel like Spencer is safe and well-loved while he's at Bark Bark. We mostly do the daycare, but he's had the grooming too, which was great. And Danny the trainer is fantastic. We've done 2 rounds of classes. All in all, I highly recommend Bark Bark as the place where the cool dogs go! read more

Bark Bark is the premium day care/ grooming salon for your doggies. We moved here from northern cali several months ago and were afraid that we would not be able to find a great doggie day care like the one we used up north, but boy were we wrong! I read some of the reviews before giving Bark Bark a try. The reviews don't do it justice. My dogs had a tempermant/ tryout session for "4" hours to see how they would interact with the other dogs. Most places try them out for less than an hour and then just throw 'em in. Needless to say, they passed. Vivian is all business, but yet personable. You can tell she loves dogs. The facility is clean, clean , clean! There are multiple staff watching and playing with the dogs throughout the day. Even at the mention of going to doggie day care, my dogs get excited! There is room and plenty toys for your dog to play with. The staff is attentive and have the same love for dogs as Vivian. OK...now..on to the grooming facilities...SUPERIOR! Not only do they do a superior job, if you request something they don't think you need, they will share that with you. How is that for customer service? Since when have you been to a business that tells you the truth about what you really need? Their groomers are experienced and professional as well. OH...I forgot to mention that they give a discount for a 2nd dog and they also have packages. Hopefully soon, the city of Long Beach will get on their job and approve the outdoor courtyard so that the dogs will have even more room to romp. Bark Bark...job well done! read more

A few of my favorite things about this daycare service: a) Great service by the staff. Both I and my dogs receive a friendly greeting at time of check in and check out. b) No cages!!! It's an open facility. c) Large open facility, dogs are NOT clustered up. They have plenty of room to run around in and play. Our dogs are each ~1yr old and they are pooped (tired) after a full day here. They fall asleep on the way home and are in recovery for a day or two. If you have puppy-ish dogs, I highly recommend that you bring 'em in. It helps socialize them too. d) There is always a person (or two) watching over them and tossing balls or toys playing with them. e) Clean, clean, clean f) Affordable! Additional notes: I think they've recently created an area just for small dogs. They have added cameras and run a live feed to the front so you can see your dog at drop off and pick up. Lastly, there are rumors that once the city approves the plans, they will convert the back dirt lot into an outdoor dog park area. How great is that?! read more

He was banned from petsmart(he can be temperamental) so I was afraid to take him anywhere else fearing he might snap at them!... But here they get to know him instead of just taking him straight to the back! And he smells and looks great when I come to pick him up!! I took my toy poodle here after reading a lot of reviews about different groomers. I arrived there at 12 for my appointment, the groomer came out and talked to me about how I wanted her hair cut and ran her hands through my dog's fur to make sure there wasn't any matting that would cause an issue. Everyone who helped was really nice and welcoming the only thing I didn't like was that I didn't get a call to pick up my dog until 430 over four hours after I dropped off my dog! The guy who called me said that she had been done a while but they forgot to call me. But even despite that I would definitely be coming back since everything was so great! read more

I've been meaning to write a review for these guys for a while now and their recent excellent customer service has spurred me to finally do so. We've been taking our dog here for a couple years now and she's always had a blast and you can tell they really care for the animals. The webcams are a great way to check in on your pet and see how he/she is doing. Four paws UP !! My Boy Tigger just loves BarkBark! I like to take my 4 legged Boy to Day Care about once or twice a week. This way he gets socialized, and he's not ready to run a marathon when I get home from work... ( Because I am NOT ). I have found that the staff is very attentive and caring. My Boy sometimes needs attention and on the few occasions he's gone over and nuzzled one of the care takers. I was very pleased to see that he was picked up, hugged and loved on the spot !! ( No pun intended ) I've been coming here for a few weeks now and we absolutely love it !! The grooming shop has always done well for us too. Tigger is a short hair Chihuahua mix so he doesn't need much more than a wash and dry, but I love picking him up with that new dog smell !! They always have him ready on time, and normal daily pick up and drop of is always super quick. I love being able to watch him on camera at work as well. Bottom line is I really feel that my Boy is getting the care he needs and will be using Bark Bark for years to come.. A few months later and still Loving Bark Bark !! Always quick in and out, my Boy is always clean and ready when I pick him up, and he can't wait to get in to play with his friends. !! read more
