I have used this kennel for years, before they moved to the new location. I have never had any…read moreissues, my dogs loved coming here, smelled great, and their bedding was always clean and ready at pickup. I recently boarded my dog here and what a mess. The old employees, 1 older lady and 2 young sisters no longer work here, and the new employees have zero respect for the animals they care for. I started to question if i should leave my dog when the 1st impression was a stong smell of urine before i had even opened the door to enter the building, I eventually let it go and figured it was early morning( around 10am) so cleaning was still be done. Inside the office there was food scattered around the desk and floor- human food, and 2 very young kids, maybe 4 and 6/7 running around, up to my dog, opening the doors and the employee im assuming was their mom kept stopping my check in and yelling at them to get in the kitchen, the check-in took about 20 minutes due to this, at this time i was not asked for shot records, if my dog needed any medication, had any food or personal items, she just grabbed the leash and dragged her into the kennel area. After she finally returned (kids still running about, even in to the kennel area) I had confirmed my pick up date and asked for her to be bathed, i was told she would add it and felt rushed out the door. I returned 5 days later for pickup and again when i walked towards the front door i was overcome with a strong urine smell before opening the door, this time I came at 3pm, more then enough time for cleaning to be done. I waited at the desk for the same employee that was there at drop off to come to the desk, she exited what i assume was the kitchen as the 2 kids followed her out, again running around as she yelled at them to get back in the kitchen. I had to repeat 3 times who i was there to pick up as she was distracted by the kids, i asked if she had any food left and if she had her bath, i was told i dont know about the food and she had her bath that morning. I was not given any left over food or container, i was basically thrown my leash as again the kids were running around, i didnt ask questions i just too my dog and left. Once in the car i was hit with a smell of urine, and a fruity smell, my dog felt dirty and had dried urine on her belly and back legs. Im guessing the fruity smell was a perfume to cover the urine smell, i paid for a bath that was obviously not given even though i was told it was done that morning. I have reached out through some Facebook investigation and found the groomer/ kennel worker and explained what had happened. She informed me she was out for surgery and would be back to groom but was no longer working the kennel area, and has not for a few years, and it was her sister who worked there was no longer a part of the kennel. Please if the owner of the kennel actually sees these reviews you need to train your current employees or do whatever it takes to get your old ones back. I used to love this kennel but unless something changes I will not be back and you will be looking at a loss of customers, or a law suit if one of the kids opens a door an a customers dog get outs.

They are always willing to work with me when I have special requests or need last minute booking. Also, you CANNOT beat their prices! They don't charge extra for my 130lbs dog like most other places do and its less than half of what kennelwood charges per night, and he would always come back stinking and caked in pee. When I pick Nash up from Twin Rivers he's always happy and smells like shampoo! So glad I found this kennel!

We had an appointment to take our Golden-doodle in for grooming today which was a Friday at 1PM…read more The person checking her in seemed to be perturbed and short that we were there later on a Friday with a big dog. They seemed overworked and just not happy to see us or a big Golden-doodle. They then said that my dog's ears would have to be shaved due to mats after about two seconds of feeling them. Don't get me wrong, there were some mats but not excessive to the point of shaving. Our pup has thick beautiful hair and there was no thorough inspection done. She literally felt them for 5 seconds and said we have to shave them. #lazy We are extremely busy and don't always do a good job of brushing daily, but we do try. My wife left her there anyway but then we decided no we are not shaving her ears. So we went back to pick her up. The associate then treated my wife rudely asking well what are you going to do. She simply said I'll use a special brush and comb to fix her ears and they asked are you taking her somewhere else. My wife said yes we were taking her somewhere else. At that point they said they could do that but it would cost more and we have to pay up front. No thank you at this point. They should have inspected more closely, wanted to put in the effort to keep my dog sexy and offered that to begin with. And by the way, we were willing to pay extra for the help. We get it. But to simply say we have to shave them, no. My wife came home and spent about 30 minutes and got all mats out and she is now ready to get a wash. All I want out of a groomer is one that is happy to see us, one we can trust to make our pups look great and they try to make the dogs feel comfortable and pampered. That was not the vibe today and we will have to look for a new groomer down the road. Maybe it was due to it being late on a Friday but if that's the case they need to do a better job at booking the appointments.

They were friendly upon bringing her in and promptly checked us in. 2 and half hours after her appointment they called to let us know she was ready! She smells amazing and is so soft! We tried one other that seemed ok but you know when sometimes something just feels off? So I asked & our vet recommended Silver Maple instead...best thing ever. My first glimpse of how genuinely they care for our dogs was how nicely he goes in (tail is still down but he readily goes in after being greeted like Norm from Cheers). One time he got sick just before our Xmas vacation. He had only been on his meds for 2days before I had to drop him off but they have their system down to a science. It's simple but it's one they are clear on so there are no mistakes. Pam even called me to tell me she found throw up in his crate but wondered if giving him his meds with food would be less caustic & help him feel better...thoughtful & considerate problem solver & diplomatically explained! During that same boarding we were snowed in on the mountains in CO & couldn't get back on time. Not only did Pam accommodate but she also made sure he had enough of his meds. She genuinely loves animals & will go to bat for them. Communication & planning is key. If you'll be traveling over the holidays, book early. Always pack extra food & Rx in case it gets dropped or don't pack enough food. They took a Chewy delivery of food bc I stupidly didn't count out the correct numbers of cans. Cost-wise, we have found it to be very much worthwhile bc we absolutely know he's in good hands. To Pam, Mallory, Amanda, Lindsey & all the others I've not had the pleasure of meeting, you make Silver Maple a success & I thank you for taking such loving care of our Dexter.

Most important, he is not a "basket case" when we pick him up. Of course he is excited to see us, but he does not appear to be nervous due to the surroundings. I like both locations. Yes, they are both in "busy" areas. However, I am able to park away from other cars which allows for room and less stress for the human of a dog that pulls. Thank you! Since this was his first time and he has health issues it took a while but he feels so much better without all the hair and matting that he had. This was the best experience I have had at a groomer. Small space, not a log of dogs going nuts, as calm as a groomer's space can be. We will be back.
