    Juggernaut beer

This place always has a great variety of drinks to try out. If its a new beer or something they put together it is quite fun. The food as well is pretty dang good and not the usual boring menu. Staff sometimes can get busy so you need to make sure you know what you are going to want or you will end up havin to wait! haha. I usually come on off hours so it is more of a enjoyable chill experince. The building is crazy long and there are pool tables in the back. Also behind the building is public parking if you cannot find an easy spot along the street.

Not only a great place to stop in the summer for casual outdoor streetwise setting but cozy and great decor for inside as well. Probably one of the best French dip sandwiches in my favorite list. I breached out from my usual pizza order and was so thankful I did. DELICIOUS! Staff is always friendly, cold beer and a happy returning customer time and time again!

We've been to barleys many times and it's always a good time. Service is great, the environment is great. Food is usually pretty good ! Today I tried the smoke house burger with fries, it was good. Not sure how I feel about their bbq sauce though. It's more like a Heinz's 57 sauce. But usually if I get a burger I stick with the Barley burger. So I had to switch it up. My wife got the triple club sandwich with fries, and that's one of our go to's. That club sandwich is always delicious. We also tried this month's special appetizer. It was a Ruben dip and it was tasty. Would order again. I tried a new beer this go around too. I tried the Infusion, it's a vanilla bean ale. Wasn't for me, but glad I gave it a try. They always have a great selection of beers. Overall we enjoy barleys, it's a great local bar and grill.

We haven't been to Council Bluffs much so I jumped on the idea to try somewhere new. We chose to sit outside and view the area. Our server was friendly and thorough with us. My husband chose fried gizzards as our appetizer which I'm not a huge fan of honestly. They were good but somewhat chewy in my opinion. He was pleased with them and with his Shrimp po boy. I thought my chicken quesadilla was very good (nice portion size) but a had a little too much chili powder in the seasoning. I think next time I'll try a sandwich to see how they are. I definitely want to come back and relax outside again.

Great food and service. The Mushroom Swiss Juicy Lucy (June special) was awesome. I always enjoy the food and patio at Barley's.

Amazing sandwiches! Both the reuben and the pork tenderloin are some of the best I have ever had!

One of my friends has been here with his co-workers a few times but I haven't been here before. (Maybe one time many many years ago that I don't remember....) We walk in on a Monday night and there were a few people there. It's a small place so I'm glad we were able to get a table. When we sat down, the bartender, (waitress as well), came right over and took our drink orders and eventually our food orders. I wanted to try their renowned broasted chicken. (A device essentially uses pressure cooking and light frying to create a thin crispy skin and juicy interior). The chicken was some of the best 'fried' chicken that I've ever had, seriously. Super crispy skin and juice inside. Reminds me a little of Korean fried chicken. The texas toast was yummy, the cole slaw was creamy (if you like creamy slaw), and the crispy tots were crispy delicious. My friend got a broasted chicken sammich and he loved it too. (High praise coming from him.) My friends and I have been wanting to go back and get more broasted chicken since we left. On Fridays, they have a 4 piece special for $13.99 that I'll have to take advantage of soon. All in all, this little bar/restaurant has some amazing food that I just didn't expect after driving and running past it for years. Can't wait to go back.

We were seated right away, and it was a perfect day to sit outside. The hostess let us know they had workers outside, but we were totally okay with the noise, which ended up being very minimal. We didn't order any drinks, but for food, I decided to try the birria grilled cheese, which comes with one side, and I chose fries. Not only did it look so appetizing, but it tasted AMAZING. The bread had some sort of seasoning on it that added so much flavor to the sandwich. The fries were seasoned exceptionally well too. I'll definitely be back sometime soon to try more items. The food today was 10/10, and our waitress was very kind and attentive as well.

I had the Cubano sandwich, which was good overall, especially the smoky meat, but I think the coarse-ground mustard overpowered the flavours a bit and dulled the smokiness a bit. A plain yellow mustard might balance the sandwich better and let the smokiness shine through more. The sweet potato fries, however, were excellent. My wife Laura ordered Emily's Salad, which was pleasant and fresh, though we both thought it could have benefited from a little crunch--maybe some seeds or nuts added in. Our daughter Alex had the birria tacos and carne asada fries. The tacos were tasty, though a little on the small side, but the carne asada fries were fantastic. Umai! (I am a Rengoku fan; if you know, you know.) I highly recommend it. Our other daughter, Sam, ordered the birria grilled cheese and elote fries, and both were really good. Her cherryade was especially refreshing. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, though the dining area and patio felt a bit bare. A few plants outside and inside would really warm the place up and give it more character. The music was pretty good with indie hits in there. I also tried the Old Fashioned. It was definitely strong, which I appreciated, but it felt like it was missing a touch of sweetness or something to round it out. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, and I'd absolutely go back and try more on the menu. Their waitstaff was top-notch and really were on their game. The restaurant has good ingredients and solid ideas--it just feels like a few flavour balances could be dialed in a little more.

I had a free afternoon and for some reason when I check yelp, a couple spots in Council Bluffs, IA show up. I check around and they look fine, elevated bar/comfort food that could be from Anywhere, USA. Pork tenderloin seems to be the move with something fried on the side. LPL's really stuck out for a few reason - massive tenderloin sandwich and a super Midwest feel from the pics. Coming from Omaha, LPL's is about 15 minutes from downtown, but everything is 15-30 minutes it seems no matter where you go so might as well check out a new state. This restaurant is as middle of nowhere in the middle of nowhere as it gets. Nondescript building with just a few windows on the side of what seems like a main road for the area. I'm fairly certain there has not ever been an Asian and/or Hispanic person set foot in here, but hey, I was looking for a hearty and authentic meal and that's what I got. Felt like Joe and Marisa showing up in Alabama. I walked in and could feel the eyes on me immediately and went straight to an open bar stool. The place was pretty packed for a random Monday at 1pm. Everyone seems like regular locals. Server/bartender came up and handed me a menu and I ordered a Yuengling. I already knew what I wanted - pork tenderloin deluxe with some cheese curds. Very reasonable and necessary up charges for both. Now, when people exaggerate and say, "so and so was bigger than my face" I brush it aside, BUT this pork tenderloin was much bigger than my face and is comically large. They actually gave me a to go box to cut some of it up and set aside for maneuverability. I won't say it was seasoned well but the bonus points for size outweighs all. I cut and stacked with mayo and veggies to eat and it was very delicious. Crunchy and juicy with fresh veggies and needed richness from mayo. I was on my 3rd day of curds and ranch, no complaints there other than from my doctor I'm sure. I suppose I can recommend this place... it was just an odd experience of being so out of place for me but the staff was friendly and food was good making this a good place to check out. I would say it's one-of-a-kind spot but I have no idea what the rest of the Midwest is like. It's really in the middle of nowhere and getting an uber back to Omaha took a whopping 17 minutes. I, of course, appreciate anyone that reads my long reviews of random restaurants. I have no idea who is reading this review in NE or IA. $25 for a massive sandwich and 2 beers is the deal if the century. Way off the beaten path but may be worth a visit if you are visiting Omaha and what a different experience.
