I have dined at both the brick and mortar Blatt in Legacy and this Westroads location - and the experiences were wildly different. The standalone location in Legacy had a cool vibe with great staff who were eager to assist you in any way they can (filling waters, asking if you need more drinks, anything taken away, etc). The Westroads/Flagship Commons spot had none of that charm and service. It is very much a food court vibe for the exact same price that you'd pay at the actual restaurant. When we visited during holiday shopping recently, there was maybe one table seated in their little dining area. We thought we'd save everyone a trip and order at the front, which it appeared you could do. We asked two girls behind the counter if we could just choose a table in their (basically completely empty) seating area to wait for our food. And they said that you're not allowed to sit in this area (even if it's completely empty) if you didn't sit down in that area to have a server take your order. I've never hear of such an asinine policy in my life. I'm paying the same amount (and tipping the same), but I'm not allowed to sit in your dining area because I saved someone a trip and order myself at the front counter? What in the absolute world?? So we took our food and ate it in the communal area of Flagship Commons, which I'm not above doing or anything - I was just very annoyed by the Blatt seating policy (if you couldn't tell yet!) The food was also not on par here than with their brick and mortar locations. Maybe because they don't have as large of a kitchen to make everything from scratch or something, but again - paying the same as at the physical location in Legacy for lesser quality food. Is there a convenience of having this version of Blatt right in the little food court at the mall? I guess, but it's not worth it to me after this experience. read more

Our group attended the College World Series to cheer on the OSU Beavers and Blatt's is the place to be. Located across from the field it is an easy walk if you are headed to watch a game. Blatt has two levels, the main level and a rooftop bar with lots of seating and tv's everywhere. On a hot summer Omaha day it is perfect for a cold beer or cocktail enjoying the camaraderie of all the baseball fans from near and far. Our group of 4 had some appetizers and drinks and while the food isn't the reason why you'd go to Blatt's they serve your typical bar fare. I'd give the food a solid 3 - not amazing, not terrible just ok. I'd give the vibe and atmosphere a 5 and this is why you go to Blatt's! If you're at the CWS, Blatt is a must! This was my first time ordering from here, so maybe I just didn't order the best item. I ordered the chopped salad ($13) with Indian spiced chicken ($7). While the chicken was delicious, the salad was neither chopped nor worth the price tag. It reminded me of a Cobb salad with about 90% lettuce. Needless to say, there will not be a reorder. The atmosphere was pretty neat with having a bar setting inside a food court. I think it is good enough to give another try. An Indian spiced chicken sandwich would be awesome. read more

We came around noon on a Sunday, so they were just opening. We ordered a cheeseburger to split and a side of fries. When the food came out, the cashier seemed to be inconvenienced to give it to us and when I asked if the burger could be split, she annoyingly handed me a knife. I said that works too, I didn't mind but also, any other kitchen has either offered to cut it when 2 people order one sandwich, or take it to cut themselves. Not a big deal but I wish they would've been a little less annoyed serving us. The food was okay, nothing too special. A good burger, but the side of fries was pretty skimpy, there were only about 15 or so to split between 2 people. When we went to the restaurant part instead of the walk up window, we got a whole basket. I just wish the walk up service was as good as the restaurant service! Came here for the first time while going to Westroad's Mall. I got the chicken strips with parmesan truffle fries which were SO GOOD! The chicken strips are seasoned great and super crispy. While the parmesan truffle fries had a good balance of seasoning and are very tasty. My boyfriend loved the buffalo chicken on his mac, but wasn't the biggest fan of the bleu cheese (I think he isn't a bleu cheese fan in general and hasn't had it much). We had a really nice waitress who recommended the parmesan truffle fries over the regular fries to me. It was a great suggestion! It was a bit noisy as seating is open to the rest of the mall dining, but overall I am impressed. I would definitely come back for the chicken strips and parmesan truffle fries! read more

I love Blatt, and I love being able to get it at Flagship Commons in Westroads Mall. I don't often get a chance to sit inside the actual restaurant, so I was happy to venture in. I met my girlfriend there for a little shopping and we started the day with some drinks and lunch (as you should always do before making some purchases.) We both got the Fairy Nectar, and fries and pretzels to split. The fries were a perfect amount for us to spilt. I ventured away from the burger and tried the Thai and chicken salad. I asked if it was on a bed of greens, and I'm glad I did, it's actually more off a rice noodle entree with cabbage and carrots etc. So while it is a salad, it might not be that light. All that said, it was DELICIOUS! Loved the flavor of the sesame and peanut vinaigrette. There was plentiful amount of chicken. I left extremely satisfied. We got there a little before 12 so it wasn't super busy and our server was attentive. read more

Very good food and reasonable prices. I recommend treating yourself to a full meal or snack and beverage at the bar. Its not the quietist spot around but nice people watching at the mall. My family went here for the first time before a musical and it was already packed with reservations. Thankfully we had made one in advance, but something to keep in mind for the future. The overall restaurant is very open, and definitely a sports bar/restaurant sort of feel. I tried the apple pie cider which was good. It was not as sweet as I was expecting with forward notes of cinnamon, but still tasty. We shared the Reuben fries, which were also delicious. The only unfortunate side was when it came to the backyard burger I ordered. I asked for a gluten free bun (as I can't have gluten) and was given a normal burger. I had a bite, but quickly caught it. The staff were extremely apologetic and made me a new dish right away. Because the way they handled it was more than I could ask for, I am not taking away any stars. Once I was given the gluten free version of the meal, it was fantastic and exactly what I wanted from the burger. The dill potato salad was also refreshing. I did unfortunately get sick later, but because of the professionalism and the way they handled the mistake I will be back to try something else and hopefully have a better experience. Omg. This was such an unexpected dinner in Omaha. I went with my friend Nikki and this place blew me out of the water. We got pretzel bites which came with mustard and beer cheese. The main course was the Dirty Bird. This came with chicken, applewood-smoked bacon, brioche bun, Boston lettuce, tomato, red onion, coleslaw, sriracha buffalo, blue cheese sauce. I really love this location. I've been several times, usually later at night with my friend after getting our nails done in the mall. When you go restaurants close to closing time, you're more than likely get the eye roll along with the hurry up and go treatment. But not at Blatt Beer. In the many times we've been here, we've received nothing short of friendly service, good food and an overall pleasant experience. My favorite menu item is probably one of the most simple on the menu: the simple salad. But the trick is to add the Dixie fried chicken. I'm not sure what they do to the chicken, but it's absolutely phenomenal. Very light, yet crispy and with great flavor. I've also tried the fried chicken sandwich and it was equally as delightful along with the potato salad side. What I'm most impressed with though is the selection of ranch dressing. There are so many flavors that I can't remember them all but I'm most fond of the dill ranch. I've yet to venture into much else beyond my chicken but my vegetarian friend does tell me that they make a mean currywurst. Overall, a great reason for me to want to venture to the mall. I can't wait until the weather warms as their patio looks quite inviting. As a tip, if you are planning on stopping here after shopping towards closing, make sure you park outside Flagship Commons. This is the only door that is operable after the main mall closes at 9pm. Otherwise, you'll have to walk around the mall at night to get back to your parking spot. Blatt makes an honest effort for five stars and I'd definitely come back, but not for the burger. The pretzel bites were near perfect. Salted, textured, delicous by themselves and then amped up by the Rosemary mustard and gruyere cheese sauce. Expections were high and the Blatt Burger fell short. The meat wasn't salted well, the burger was a bit sloppy, and the grilled onions lacked flavor. Fries are hand cut, but soggy and not seasoned with enough truflle. The most bizarre thing was the beer selection. What restaurant has "beer" in its name and has less than a dozen beers on tap. A single local beer is sad, plus why waste a tap on Bud Light? This was my second visit to this local franchise, albeit my first visit to this specific location. This one is located within the Westroads Mall and has an entrance and plentiful parking located nearby. Due to its placement within a mall, the space is a bit tight, but they make it work and the staff were incredibly friendly and provided wonderful service. I was in town for a work conference and received a recommendation for local dining options from a colleague. I was not disappointed during either of my visits. I ordered the same entree both times - the macaroni & cheese with buffalo chicken tenders and blue cheese. It. Is. So. Amazing. The dish was cooked to perfection, with the cheese melting in my mouth and the chicken tenders having enough of a kick while also being crispy and plump. The dish is incredibly filling. There are other options to mix in with the macaroni & cheese, but I found the buffalo chicken tenders the most appealing. Highly, highly recommend. This location also has a bar with a bartender making and serving drinks. My friend and I both ordered ciders, which were fairly priced at $5 and were promptly served. Blatt is a wonderful restaurant and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an exceptional sit-down dining experience! read more

I haven't been disappointed with Blatt. I think they're pretty impressive with their vegan offerings. I've tried the root burger, the vegan currywurst, their truffle fries, and pretzel bites, all of which I liked! The root burger has great flavor and ingredients but IS a little mushy, which is always a disappointment for me with "veggie burgers". The currywurst is usually really good and made with flavors that sound questionable but are fabulous together. I've only gotten it once where the "brat" was cooked sorta weird and it's texture was off. The truffle fries are super tasty and the preztel bites are just....soft pretzels...nothing too special with them but they still taste good! I finally visited Blatt at Westroads. This means I've now tried each option at Flagship Commons, the mall's newish food hall. Sure it wasn't too busy on a Tuesday afternoon, but there were still quite a few people at Flagship enjoying a late lunch (or an early drink). Blatt's nice because it has waitstaff and it's own private bar and dining area. Today, the bartender doubled as our server. He was polite, prompt and professional. My wife ordered a glass of the house red ($6) and I enjoyed a root burger and pickled slaw ($10.50). Food was just as good as other Blatt locations. Ambiance was surprisingly comfortable, despite being at a mall. This would be a great spot to go before a movie next door. While my visit was overall very positive, I could see this place being a pain during peak times. But hey it's at a shopping mall so the five stars stands in my book. read more

This is the one restaurant in Flagship Commons where you can sit down and be served. It is a nice option if dealing with all the hustle of holiday shopping. The food here is consistently good, as with their other locations throughout Omaha. Decent beer selection. Pretty much the same thing. That's a good thing. You can get fast casual or sit down. Cocktails and beer, too. I always get the Vegan Currywurst and sometimes the Root burger. Both are Vegan so they work well for vegetarians also. The pretzel bites have changed from Sysco supplied boring little balls to fluffy perfection. This location puts condiments in paper and I understand it makes for less dishes, but steals from the ambience. I left my phone here after eating and went to a friends' party. Realizing that I had no phone, I called and they had it behind the counter. I went back 6hrs later and retrieved it. that makes me want to come back more. Good Job! +1 star! read more

I am really loving this west Blatt Location. It is Similar and yet different to the downtown location. The Menu is lacking the fish and chips ?? Bummer do not expect to get them out here. The drinks are just as good. and the ac works better here :) Plus for me. Hands down one of the best friend chicken sandwiches can be had here. They have some new drinks on the menu --tying into the summer season, a tasty pimms cup.... and I can not remember the name but was a gimlet type with fresh squeezed ipa foam. (was very tasty but did not fill the martini glass... not worth it imo) It is tied to flagship commons so you can mix and match with other spots also.. Simple menu board at the Blatt carry out station in Flagship Commons - but very effective. (They have a dine in concept there also). Ordered the Blatt burger... upon first gaze I literally said "YESSSSS". This basic burger totally hits the mark and the, crisp, homemade fries are a perfect fellow. A lot of fancy burger joints forget about the boring ole cheeseburger- not the Blatt. Total home run. This is a lunch stop with co-workers. If I'm out with a client or friends I'd probably hit up one of their other locations for more of the pub vibe vs. the mall food hall. That said, I'm thrilled this place is in the neighborhood. read more

I went to the Blatt Beer & Table at Flagship Commons on a Saturday afternoon. It was a very busy time for them. The food court was packed and I had to wait about 20 minutes for my Cheeseburger, which I would regard as average. The cashier at the register was obviously not happy about working on a Saturday. She was very abrupt and the guy delivering dishes as they came out of the kitchen seemed annoyed as well. When I got my hamburger it was pretty gross. Sort of blackened and crispy, and not what I would expect of Angus beef. It was more in the line of a Dairy Queen burger. It was also very drenched in ketchup, so the ketchup sort of took over the taste of the black crispiness. Needless to say, I'm never going back there again. For the price of 9 dollars, it was not worth it. read more

It really kills me to give Blatt a low rating because the food is always so good, but the service not so much. Stopped in for half off pints and pretzels with my husband (which you now need to purchase an entree with to get the free pretzels) and our first waiter was so off putting. When we asked about the pretzels, he appeared to be irritated and kept checking his watch when he sat us down to take our orders - uhh excuse me but how rude. Based on how many times he checked the time I'm assuming he went home and our new waiter was much kinder but wow. The food was delicious though thank the lord. Unimpressed with the menu changes made at the Flagship Commons location. Gone are the fresh tomatoes and lettuce on the burgers. The cheeseburger I had about two weeks ago was burned and dry, the bun was stale; both were about 1/2 the size and quality of what was served a couple months ago. Had the fried chicken sandwich today. Literally a heavily seasoned and heavily breaded chicken breast that was so tough I could barely chew it nor cut it with a knife, a huge dollop of mayo and three pickles. Fries were ok, but not as good as they used to be. I used to eat here once a week when my girls were at club VB practice just up the road. I can't say that I'll be back any time soon after my last two experiences at this location. read more

Well, have been a long-time fan of the stadium location in NORDO, so thought we'd try out the Westroads spot. Their beloved peanuts (OMG) were as wonderful and spicey and sweet as ever (you'll want more beer with them!) but the venue is pretty Mall-like. Can't change that, of course, but if you're in a mind for Southern Fried Chicken Tenders or their peanuts or a killer burger and don't want to trek downtown, here you go. Wait staff were on point and helpful, they kept an eye on our beverages and were very friendly. I have been a semi-regular here on Wednesday's for a while. Half price pints, what's not to like. Pretzel bites are now free WITH AN ENTREE, instead of just free. Hey, I ain't mad at ya. I get it, that was an insane happy hour to get free bites and half price pints. STILL a hell of a deal. This place is a favorite, despite it being in the mall. That saves me, too, from endless hours in Hot Topic or wherever my daughter wants to go. With the holidays right around the corner, I will embrace this place for the jewel that it is.
