He quickly brought it all over, and we felt silly because we didn't see utensils were right next to the drink machine, and we should have gotten them ourselves. I apologized for missing it, but he was so polite and friendly and seemed like it was no big deal. We cut the burger in half, I started on the cold slaw (delicious), and then got to it. He looked at me and said, "No, it's totally fine. Would you like some veggies on the side?" "Yes, that would be amazing," I said, and walked back to my table... and burst into tears. It wasn't just what he said. It was the kind energy in his eyes. I felt someone who took pride in what he was making, and who genuinely wanted people to be happy. I found myself asking, why am I crying?
