I read some good reviews about this place, so since we were planning a day trip to Ocean City, we wanted to get an early start to beat the traffic which would have put us in town around breakfast time. Perfect timing. We found parking a short block away and were seated right away; thankfully upstairs. I ordered what I read was their signature item - crab & cheddar omelette. The waitress cautioned me that it was big, and I told her, "You're not scaring me - bring it on!" It didn't take long for our food to be delivered, and everything was hot and delicious. The crab & cheddar omelette was magnificent. The only downside (if you can call it that) was that it kept me full for the majority of the day, so no Boardwalk fries, no pizza, no Bull On The Beach and no Dumser's ice cream for me this time out. Fast service, friendly attentive servers and wonderful inviting ambiance. And the restrooms not only have soap, but lotion to moisturize your hands after washing - nice touch! I can see that moving forward, this will be our breakfast destination whenever we are in town. **TIP** The parking lot is very small, so unless you get lucky, you'll have to look for parking elsewhere. We got lucky and found a spot in the next block North of the restaurant in front of an apartment complex. Our first time at Barn 34. The atmosphere is very nice. On the front porch, while you wait to be seated, they have two large containers with fresh watermelon and strawberry water in them. We were seated upstairs. I ordered the special, French toast cinnamon roll with bacon and over medium eggs. I also ordered an english muffin on the side. The eggs arrived cold, and the yolks were almost solid. The bacon was ok but very low quality. The French toast cinnamon roll was excellent. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The wait for our food was short. My wife ordered the creamed chipped beef with hashbrowns. She said it was very good and hot. The hashbrowns are the cubbed type, not the shredded or smashed type, which I prefer. Overall, I give the place a 7.5. It is a little pricey for the quality of the food. Oh, the coffee was not great. It tasted like your basic crappy diner coffee. The bathroom was very clean too. read more

I have been to Barn 34 a few times while visiting Ocean City. Initially, I popped over here because of the great brunch reviews. Hadn't stopped in for dinner until last year when we were waiting for Winterfest to die down. Starting with brunch, the brunch menu is incredible. They have all these different menu items and each is great. The Cap'n Crunch French toast is awesome. I have also really liked their egg dishes too. The mimosas are fantastic! Their dinner is great as well. The restaurant is a bit quieter because it's not their peak time. The French onion soup is great, as are their hot winter drinks. Love this place. Just wish they did carry out given all that's going on, because I'd definitely order it during my next Ocean City trip! read more

This place was absolutely amazing !!! By far the best place I ate during my trip to OCMD during Memorial Day Weekend ! The parking was limited (we had to pay $5 to park across the street in a lot) but we only waited like 30 mins which I think is super quick for a brunch place on Memorial Day. We got here pretty early on a Monday, about 8:15 and there were already a lot of people for only being open for 15 minutes. We were seated quickly and the bartender came to wait on us. It took him a while to get back to us after taking our drink order. The coffee seemed old for that early in the morning--didn't really enjoy that. Then he took our appetizer order and ran off, though we wanted to put our main meals in as well. A food runner brought the app before the bartender came back to take our meal order, so we sat for some time. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but it was a nice day and we wanted to get to the beach! Our meals were very good and we'd definitely go back, I'd just hope to get a regular waiter and not the bartender who is preoccupied, though he was friendly. We went here 2x on our vacation because it was THAT good. I'm actually drooling looking over the pictures, lol. Absolutely amazing food, nothing disappointed us. Those fried green tomatoes were ON POINT! Never had anything like that before. We also got the pitcher of pineapple mimosa- so good. Love that they offered a variety of different kinds of mimosas! My mother and I went here for the first time on Sunday morning, we were seated quickly and we sat upstairs by the bar. The atmosphere was so fun and the restaurant was beautifully decorated! It was a very nice welcoming setup in their parking lot. What we order 1) Benedict Avocado: It was not so good to be honest. I expected a glaze of hollandaise sauce on the top. I felt like my toast was very soggy and the sauce somehow felt a little sweet. It was a wet toast with the sauce overpowering my plate everywhere. 2) Avocado Toast : Thought it was really good. Just would be nice if it came with a Fried Egg. Had to order fried egg on the side. You cant order 1 fried egg btw. You can only order 2 fried egg. That's extra to the dish. 3) Fresh Squeezed OJ: Orange Juice was very pleasing but thought it was little less. As it comes in 4-5 ounce of glass. I do recommend this place. But I highly recommend you to ask for a 'PRINTED RECEIPT' and verify your orders carefully. I kinda noticed it after I paid the money. The price of 3 orange juice was listed as 24 dollars. The menu says it cost 4.25 cent each. Which does not total to be 24 for 3 if my math is correct. I did ask for it but when I showed my Server the price on the Menu. She did not had a Answer and walked away. Telling me, will ask the Manager. When she came back she just lied to my face its 8 dollars. I thought she did not deserve 20% tip that I paid her before. Came for breakfast on Thursday ( April 2021) . This place is closed Monday-Wednesday. Very nice set up and decor. They are open for indoor dining and the tables are approximately spaced, especially upstairs. The service was excellent ( our server was Kaitlin who is amazing). The food was served quickly and was ok. We tried classic eggs Benedict and crabby omelette. Ok l, good quality , solid food if you r hungry but nothing special of you are looking for something out of the ordinary. I absolutely love, love, love Barn 34. The food has been consistently delicious. The sausage gravy and biscuits is amazing. The blueberry pancakes are to die for. The French toast is yummy and the two-egg mean with perfectly cooked bacon is delish. Be prepared to wait 45-60 mins but trust me it is worth the wait. Also, the service is exceptional, everyone is kind, attentive, and accommodating. FYI they will stop taking guests at around 1:15 because they close at 1:30. *COVID-19 Review* My boyfriend and I wanted a quick getaway from Philadelphia that didn't involve a flight but most certainly included a beach. We were so shocked to see that most people on the broad-walk did not wear mask so we were reluctant to eat at the restaurants there. We found this place on Yelp which was a few minutes from our Dunes Hotel. We were VERY HAPPY with both the service and food. The staff were friendly and welcoming! The hostess (who I think was the owner/manager?) greeted us with such joy and laughter for it to be early in the morning. Like most places down the shore, they have a very young staff which at first, can be alarming but not here. They all were very efficient and professional. Everyone was required to wear a mask while waiting outside to be seated and the parking lot was used for outdoor seating that made me feel comfortable. They also had one staff member dedicated to just sanitizing tables. They have a great system in place to make you feel safe without compromising their food. My wife and I had breakfast here while in OC. There is some good and bad with this place. The good is the atmosphere and drinks. The outside area and inside the restaurant have a much cleaner and more modern look than a lot of places in Ocean City. For drinks, my wife and I both had mimosas. She had the strawberry and I had a regular orange juice. They were so fresh tasting! They definitely used fresh fruit. Also, they used a lot of champagne, so it was not watered down. For my meal I had the eggs benedict Florentine. The biscuits cake topped with what were supposed to be poached eggs, spinach, and hollandaise sauce. The egg was so overcooked that it did not run at all. Also, there was little sauce which made for a very dry meal. The best part was the potatoes and their house made hot sauce. If you were to get COVID anyplace in ocean city it would be here. First and foremost, the hostess (bless her heart) was very scatter brained and forgot that she had told me they were clearing our table outside and almost gave it to another couple. Once seated we were handed torn paper menus that were covered in stains, dirty, and sticky. Coffee and service were fair as there is nothing bad or excellent about either. I ordered the fried green tomatoes with home fries (per the recommendation of our waitress) and my husband got the breakfast burrito that was a special of the day. When a staff member brought our food to the table she must have brought the plates down too quick and at a weird angle because half of my food slid off the plate onto the table.... she said she could have the chef remake it but that it would take awhile because OTHER FOOD WAS AHEAD OF ME. Honey, I didn't ask for my food to slide onto the table. I feel this was a horrible representation of customer service and that when stuff like this happens (which it does) it needs to be corrected. My remake should have gone to the front of the line immediately. VERY DISAPPOINTED. So I just discarded half of my meal and ate what was left. On another note whoever came up with the recipe for the fried green tomatoes should be fired. The batter was wayyyyy too thick. You're not frying a chicken. It's a tomato. Gross. And to finish up the waitress brought around a portable card reader for checkout. Was it sanitized from one table to another? Nope. You'd think with a global pandemic they would be a little more sensitive to handing around a card swiped to their customers. I liked the amount of choices they had to eat and I went rogue and chose the captain crunch French toast. THIS PLATE WAS SO FREAKING GOOD. If I could make it at home, I would be 1000 Pounds. Our waitress was Caraline and she was very chill and stirred up conversation. Parking is awkward, but when you're at the beach its almost like problems don't exist. Everything was so bland. I did get an iced Irish coffee and I kid you not it was straight up a pint of baileys with ice. There was 0 coffee. Probably one of the biggest surprises of my trip thus far- besides getting jumped and realizing one of my friends doesn't have what it takes to be an adult and take care of his body. At any rate- stopped here one morning (and I swear I checked in but it's not here) to get breakfast. Big barn fan. Probably wants to get married in one. The most difficult part of the whole process is the parking Bc their lot is about as big as my closet and doesn't seem like it ever becomes available. BIG TIP HERE!!! Park off Philadelphia - if you are driving by it take a left at the light and go through the next light where there is street parking and walk over. If not you'll be playing the lottery trying to find a spot. Upon entering the place looked small - bar area and some tables but upstairs was massive with another bar area and plenty of seating. We came for breakfast and honestly this place did not disappoint. Ordered a coffee and a water and went with the imperial omelette which is an omelette with cheese and crab imperial inside. There are avocados underneath and on top which was a nice aesthetic change to eating this. The omelette was filling- and from what I tasted the Captain Crunch french toast was also good. We only came for breakfast, but next time we are back in OC we will come check out lunch and dinner as well. Probably a good idea to get a reservation for brunch because this place got crowded. AMAZING!!! first time coming here and after lots of disappointing meals and prices on our trip this was much needed. Great building and ambiance. FAST and very friendly service. Great menu. We had the build your own omelette , eggs etc breakfast and a special of friend green tomatoes with pimento cheese and bacon jam and balsamic. Delicuous and huge. Coffee was hot and filled often. This is another one of those occasions where I wish there was a .5 star option on here. The restaurant was very nice (we dined outdoor due to the pandemic) and the food was tasty. Our server (I believe her name was Rachel) was the best one we'd had all week. Also I highly recommend the Barn Bloody Mary, this thing was DELICIOUS!!! It came with a skewer of shrimp and three pieces of bacon (yum). So if I'm lavishing all this praise on the place, why only three stars? As tasty as the food was, and it was, there just wasn't enough of it! I don't mind spending money on good food but the price to food ratio is horribly askew. If I'm dropping $100, even with alcohol, I expect to walk out full and I didn't. Less than an hour later we were both looking for something else. We ordered a couple appetizers from our fabulous server, Ramona, and although the coconut shrimp was lackluster (lacked shrimp and coconut flavors and had too much batter), we were enjoying our food (the stuffed jalapeños are excellent). Things took a turn when my sandwich arrived. I ordered the Turkey panini, which the menu describes as "TURKEY | BRIE | ARUGULA | GREEN APPLE | BACON JAM | MAYO | GRILLED WHOLE GRAIN WHEAT." However, I received a Turkey, Brie, and arugula sandwich. I let our waitress know and I was brought the same sandwich that had bacon jam and chopped raw zucchini on it. At this point, I didn't know what to think. Was my food intentionally being sabotaged? Can the kitchen staff not differentiate between an apple and a zucchini? (My toddler can...) I can find more than 34 reasons to recommend this gem. Stopped by on a Saturday for brunch with my girlfriends and loved every single bite of it! We shared the following dishes: Fried green tomatoes - came out piping hot, tomatoes were fresh and had a nice crunch when you bite into it. It was not greasy at all. The Beach Babe - eggs, cheese, chorizo and so much more all wrapped in a fluffy tortilla. A must try with the hot sauce they have at the table - you'll get addicted! Nutella & Banana Waffle - you can't go wrong with anything Nutella! Eggs Benedict - one of the best Benedicts I've ever had! Captain Crunch French Toast - I saved the best for last! Although all of the dishes were wonderful but this was my favorite. I'm still thinking about it a week later. The French toast alone would have been just a delicious but the captain crunch on top went and set the bar even higher. This doesn't come with fruit but I would recommend you adding some as a topping to balance it out! What confuses me is that there's a section add-ons and then another section for sides.
