I was really expecting this place to be amazing but I was sadly let down. This place has all the looks, beautiful building, food is very aesthetically pleasing, but taste wise it's a miss. Everything was so bland. I did get an iced Irish coffee and I kid you not it was straight up a pint of baileys with ice. There was 0 coffee. Our table all got eggs Benedict and I couldn't even finish one. The hollandaise tasted like nothing. So so bland and flavorless, everyone else agreed. Very bla. Probably one of the biggest surprises of my trip thus far- besides getting jumped and realizing one of my friends doesn't have what it takes to be an adult and take care of his body. At any rate- stopped here one morning (and I swear I checked in but it's not here) to get breakfast. Big barn fan. Probably wants to get married in one. The most difficult part of the whole process is the parking Bc their lot is about as big as my closet and doesn't seem like it ever becomes available. BIG TIP HERE!!! Park off Philadelphia - if you are driving by it take a left at the light and go through the next light where there is street parking and walk over. If not you'll be playing the lottery trying to find a spot. Upon entering the place looked small - bar area and some tables but upstairs was massive with another bar area and plenty of seating. We came for breakfast and honestly this place did not disappoint. Ordered a coffee and a water and went with the imperial omelette which is an omelette with cheese and crab imperial inside. There are avocados underneath and on top which was a nice aesthetic change to eating this. The omelette was filling- and from what I tasted the Captain Crunch french toast was also good. The food and drinks were pretty good, but would I stand in line for an hour again? Probably not. I ordered a Bloody Mary and was very pleased! It had a nice kick and the mixer to vodka ratio was well balanced. I also ordered their special: fried green tomato eggs Benedict. Instead of bread, there was a fried green tomato on the bottom. This is another one of those occasions where I wish there was a .5 star option on here. The restaurant was very nice (we dined outdoor due to the pandemic) and the food was tasty. Our server (I believe her name was Rachel) was the best one we'd had all week. Also I highly recommend the Barn Bloody Mary, this thing was DELICIOUS!!! It came with a skewer of shrimp and three pieces of bacon (yum). So if I'm lavishing all this praise on the place, why only three stars? As tasty as the food was, and it was, there just wasn't enough of it! I don't mind spending money on good food but the price to food ratio is horribly askew. If I'm dropping $100, even with alcohol, I expect to walk out full and I didn't. Less than an hour later we were both looking for something else. Loved this place! Restaurant itself is so cute! Iced coffee was the only negative--tasted like cheap coffee. We started with their cinnamon bun special, which was amazing! Then I had their crab omelette, which was probably the best omelette I've ever had and was loaded with crab! My fiancé had the crab cake benedict, which was also very tasty. Obviously getting seafood for breakfast, it's going to be pricier than a typical breakfast but that's to be expected. Service was good for the most part. We shared the following dishes: Fried green tomatoes - came out piping hot, tomatoes were fresh and had a nice crunch when you bite into it. It was not greasy at all. The Beach Babe - eggs, cheese, chorizo and so much more all wrapped in a fluffy tortilla. A must try with the hot sauce they have at the table - you'll get addicted! Nutella & Banana Waffle - you can't go wrong with anything Nutella! Eggs Benedict - one of the best Benedicts I've ever had! Captain Crunch French Toast - I saved the best for last! Although all of the dishes were wonderful but this was my favorite. I'm still thinking about it a week later. The French toast alone would have been just a delicious but the captain crunch on top went and set the bar even higher. Place was cute. Barn meets chic. Breakfast was amazing. I had the acai bowl and my husband had bacon and American omelette. We also tried the chocolate chip pancakes. My acai bowl was giant. Couldn't even come close to finishing it! Fruit was very fresh. The pancakes were also good and I appreciated that they were not overdone. My only complaint was our waitress. We ordered a couple appetizers from our fabulous server, Ramona, and although the coconut shrimp was lackluster (lacked shrimp and coconut flavors and had too much batter), we were enjoying our food (the stuffed jalapeños are excellent). Things took a turn when my sandwich arrived. I ordered the Turkey panini, which the menu describes as "TURKEY | BRIE | ARUGULA | GREEN APPLE | BACON JAM | MAYO | GRILLED WHOLE GRAIN WHEAT." However, I received a Turkey, Brie, and arugula sandwich. I let our waitress know and I was brought the same sandwich that had bacon jam and chopped raw zucchini on it. At this point, I didn't know what to think. Was my food intentionally being sabotaged? Can the kitchen staff not differentiate between an apple and a zucchini? (My toddler can...) Some of you might care, so I would like to share the following info: if you plan on eating here and you got that high percentage cash back benefit for restaurants on your credit card, it won't work here because they list themselves as a retail for goods for some reason instead of restaurants!! (Just letting y'all know) Anyways, other than that note aside, I really enjoyed their breakfast! I highly recommend coming here earlier than 9am because it gets packed FAST. My boyfriend and I came here at 8am and I think we got one of the last few available tables around before a line started. My boyfriend ordered a breakfast burrito and I got the captain crunch French toast. Both were absolutely delicious! The breakfast burrito was a lot larger than expected and was very filling. They really stuffed it full! The captain crunch French toast was unique and I loved the flavor and crunch to it. The sauce they made for it too was a nice compliment to the French toast as well. This wasn't too overwhelming sweet either which is usually my main concern when ordering French toast in restaurants. I also ordered a Bellini which was quite a satisfying morning drink to have here at the beach. Aside from my main breakfast entrees, I also got an egg and sausages. What confuses me is that there's a section add-ons and then another section for sides. Now, I thought what I ordered was add-ons to my breakfast entree, but they charged me for the full sides of it which I think is slightly a bit too much (add on was a $1.50 for sausage I believe versus almost a $4 side of sausage) All in all, i enjoyed my meal and service here. My husband and I had a great breakfast here. Initially when we were driving in ocean city, we saw the crazy long line outside. We knew we had to make a stop here for breakfast the next morning to see why it's so busy. We went at 7:50am (they open at 8) and were one of the first few people waiting in line. Once they opened, we were seated right away. Our server was Cole, who was friendly and on top of it all. He told us the specials and answered any questions we had. Went to Barn 34 for breakfast this morning, Parking is tough. (May want to take an Uber/Lyft during prime meal hours.) Service was excellent! Food was pretty good. We got there five minutes after they opened and they were already out of parking in their small lot. But we lucked out and found parking on a street nearby. Once we got there, didn't take long to get a table for two. And, we were waited on and the our food came out pretty fast. The waitress was amazing! Best service I have experienced in a long time. She was nice, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the long list of specials and items on the menu. She even mentioned who makes their orange juice. (She almost helped this experience get a 4 star rating.) We got a soft shell crab Benedict, which is a seasonal special. It was good. The hollandaise was light enough that the flavor of the fried soft shell crab was not overpowered. That said, on its own, the soft shell could have been a bit more seasoned. This dish was about $28. We also got the "big wave" breakfast with eggs, your choice of a meat, fried potatoes or cheesy grits, and pancakes, 1/2 a waffle, or 1/2 a French toast. The potatoes were with slightly undercooked with no browning or crisp or slightly burnt, and they had very little seasoning. I tried the captain crunch French toast that was recommended. It has bigger chunks of captain cruch (vs. ground up) cereal, with no crunch berries. The flavor tasted more like fried grease than anythjng. It didn't have any eggy, cinnamon flavor generally associated with French toast. It did come with a lovely berry compote that wasn't too sweet that brought it from subpar French toast on its own to pretty good French toast when combined. That said I do not think I would order the fried potatoes or captain crunch French toast again. This dish was $18, with the captain crunch French toast upgrade. Wow I wish we had found this place sooner! It's a cute and cozy little spot with delicious breakfast and great options for drinks and cocktails. Prices and service was great. They quoted us 30 mins.... 1/2 of our group have worked in food industry where if you wanted a table for 7 people on Sunday brunch it was AT LEAST 1 1/2 hours. So needless to say we were shocked and we were even more shocked when they actually got us seated in 30 mins! The server was AMAZING! She so personable and funny! This is my favorite place for brunch ever. Barn 34 is located in a literal barn situated on 34th street. Parking is limited, so be wary of that. The wait time is also pretty long but so worth it because of how popular it is. We waited 45 minutes the most recent visit, but it was a Sunday afternoon so that's most likely why. We were sat upstairs and got drinks. We got a pitcher of the seasonal peach mimosas. Everyone liked it but I don't think they mixed it well cause the bottom was much sweeter than the top haha. I always get the crab Oscar, which is essentially eggs Benedict but with crab meat, so I decided to get the imperial omelet I believe it was. It was good, can't complain! But I do wish the omelet had more crab meat. The potatoes were undercooked this time, so I do wish they took their time with that. My sister got the captain crunch French toast. That was so delicious- super sweet though so if you are trying to cut carbs and watch your glucose levels, don't get that! My boyfriend got a side of sausage gravy and man, that was probably the best sausage gravy we had (and we both live in South Carolina so we know sausage gravy)! He was eating it up by itself, it was so good! It was super thick too. I think my favorite thing I always get here every time though is the açaí bowl. For some reason, I like their açaí better than most places. It reminds me of a sherbet instead of the smooth, creamy consistency it usually is. They have some of the best variety with the fruits- strawberry, pineapple, blackberries, blueberries, kiwi, banana all toppled with yummy granola, chia seeds, coconut flakes and honey! The BEST!! I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was open at 7:30am which was great since I'm an early riser. My friend and I ordered the crab cake eggs benedict and the crab cheddar omelette. They both came with home fries or grits, we chose home fries for both entrées. We also ordered a hot coffee and hot tea. There's free refills if you order tea, coffee, or soda. The food portions were larger than I expected. There was a lot of crab in both entrées. I really liked the omelette, very cheesy and the eggs were fluffy. The eggs benedict was tasty as well.
