Barn8 was an absolutely incredible experience from beginning to end. This wasn't just a great dinner -- it was truly a next-level dining experience. The food was phenomenal. Every dish felt thoughtful, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. You can tell there is an incredible amount of care and attention put into every detail, from the ingredients to the presentation. And then there's the venue itself -- absolutely stunning. The setting and atmosphere make the entire evening feel special before you even sit down to eat. Barn8 has managed to create something that feels elevated and sophisticated while still being warm, comfortable, and completely unique. The service was just as impressive. Everyone we interacted with was attentive, knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely seemed invested in making sure we had an amazing experience. The hospitality was exceptional without ever feeling stuffy or overly formal. Huge shout out to Sophia, our waitress, she was personable, informative, and a joy to be around! Food: amazing. Atmosphere: amazing. Service: amazing. Entire experience: unforgettable. Barn8 is easily one of the most unique and impressive dining experiences I've had in Kentucky. If you're looking for somewhere that feels truly special and delivers on every level, this is it. I cannot recommend it highly enough, and I'm already looking forward to going back!

Barn8 was our nice dinner out with guests visiting from out of state. We loved the drive out here from Louisville through the beautiful land. We strolled around the restaurant and enjoyed a few lawn games after dinner. Dinner itself was phenomenal! Everyone enjoyed their plate. Not pictured here was one of the housemade pasta dishes, which was rich and full of flavor. The pork chop got raving reviews for being so tender and well-seasoned. I had the market fish, which was the perfect amount of crispy and paired nicely with the succotash risotto. The veggies in the succotash tasted like they were picked right from the garden. Food is sourced locally. The dining experience was unique and felt very "Kentucky" sitting in an old horse stable.

Amazing place! I've recommended it to so many people since we came for my birthday in June. I loved the open kitchen / farm to table set up and all the decor. Food came out quickly and made great recommendations. I had the salmon (phenomenal) but my favorite was the burger with the bacon jam. The side of potatoes and cornbread app were also full of flavor. After dinner, we walked through their greenhouse and their boardwalk. We will be back!

Oh my goodness! What a unique experience. If you are going here just to eat, the food is amazing. However, I highly recommend you do one of their tours and/or tastings to see the farm and horses. The history is as amazing as the food.

Probably some of the coolest dining experiences I've had yet. This place was an old barn preserved and reimagined into a whimsical farm to table dining experience. The food here is fantastic, with something for those with gluten free intolerance and vegan preferences as well. Service is attentive, no complaints there. I love the different seating areas, whether you're in the stables or your table is right up to that kitchen viewing the chefs create your dinner. This was a 10/10 dining experience and I highly recommend.

Spectacular!!! An absolute "must" of you get to Louisville.... Located on a working farm, in an old converted barn, we ate in the stable of Seattle Slews nothing...really cool and the ambience is killer! Wow, wow, wow to the food and drinks! Think craft cocktails and real farm to table. My fav was the cornbread w the awesome butter, everyone enjoyed the farmers cheese and tartar for apps. Chicken was huge, and while the bison burgers were only ok, the bun and fries were fabulous. Excellent service and a wonderful night out.

My family decided to try Barn8 while visiting. I loved how quaint and unique this restaurant was. Every piece of space was utilized to the best of their abilities while also keeping the barn and country feel. The food was amazing! We shared the cheese and bread to start with the sweet potato croquettes. While the menu rotates, the fried chicken with polenta was the best I've ever had! So fresh and juicy with the slaw to pair on top it was amazing! I would absolutely come back here again and advise people who are trying to have a nice group meal to check this spot out!

The atmosphere is top tier. The food and drinks are delicious. Only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because I wish the Fancier was a little less dense and more acid to balance out the smokiness. And I needed an extra side dish or 2. But all in all delicious and will be back!

It's a pretty cool atmosphere in a retrofitted barn. There are some more private areas than where I saw but it was pretty cool with the open concept to be able to see the kitchen working. We ordered the cornbread, bread platter, and sweet potato croquettes for appetizers. The breads and dips were all great. The croquettes were missing something. They were almost too smooth and couldn't decide whether they wanted to be sweet or savory. My colleagues reported the ribeye's came out room temperature or almost cold. I'm not sure if that's normal or not for this place but personally, I would have sent it back. Another colleagues burger was undercooked, she did send it back and the waitress said "it happens all the time." Mine was cooked perfectly. The bun was almost stale to me though and the actual burger itself was about two-thirds the size of the bun. The fries were great! Some were a little too seasoned but I'd definitely get them again. The bison stroganoff tasted very good but it was just oily/greasy to me. I was debating between the burger and stroganoff and I'm glad I picked the burger. For dessert, the crème Brule was the winner hands down. I'm not even a huge fan of them normally but this one was great. The biggest letdown of the night was the Appalachian Stack Cake. It sounded so good but the dry cake and heavy sorghum flavor just didn't do it for me. Not to mention the tiny dollop of ice cream about the size of a golf ball didn't go very far with easing the dryness. Burger 7. 5/10 Fries 9/10 Bison Stroganoff 7/10 Cornbread 9/10 Bread & Spreads 8.5/10 Sweet Potato Croquettes 7/10 Crème Brule 9/10 Appalachian Stack Cake 3/10 Overall, I enjoyed it. I would return. It's a cool place and I bet even cooler when it's light out. The seats weren't the most comfortable but the staff were so friendly, attentive and the food was pretty good. The interesting atmosphere (including the bathrooms. If you've been you'll understand), and I was told the menu changes fairly often. So, I'm looking forward to the next time.

This was a one of a kind experience in a redeveloped horse barn located on the stunning grounds of Hermitage Farm. Inside was very unique and cool and cozy. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They offer a seasonal menu with ingredients sourced from their farm. After placing our drink orders of wine and beers, we ordered the Breads and Spreads appetizer. Homemade sourdough and focaccia breads were fresh and fabulous. We really enjoyed the caramelized onion jam served with the breads. For our entrees, 2 of us got the Scallops and Risotto, my husband got the Mushroom Mafalde, daughter got the Stuffed Agnolotti, and a friend got the Bison Burger. Everything was fresh and flavorful and portions were satisfying. We celebrated our daughter's birthday so they gave her a complimentary crème brûlée for dessert. How nice! This is a must visit if you are ever in Kentucky!

Food was excellent. We were so satisfied, we were quiet when our entrees hit the table. I had the flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce. A few had the Bison Burger and enjoyed it. Our server Jessica was so attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The fact that they made the barn into a restaurant, was pretty cool. We had dinner in an old horse stall. Such an experience.

    Shrimp with risotto

Amazing place! Food was wonderful. The risotto was creamy with perfectly cooked shrimp. The sweat tea brined pork chop was moist and grilled to perfection. Had dinner in a horse stall and it was so cool. Had some great cocktails also. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely incredible place, amazing Barn8 on Hermitage Farm in Louisville is a unique farm-to-table restaurant and is located in what was originally **building number 8 of Hermitage Farm's historic horse stables. Executive Chef Seth Kinder does a seasonal menu using sustainable ingredients from the restaurant's on-site gardens, greenhouse, and neighboring farms. The bourbon bar at Barn8 features bourbons from many distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, as well as small-batch selections and craft distillery pours. I got done great deals on Old Forester and Yellowstone. My guests enjoyed their meals. Mine was a little dry. A crusted pork tenderloin which is hard to keep that moist. Good service great desserts, great bourbon. Absolutely a place you should experience and walk around the place at night, super cool

    Dress code for brunch?

We do not have a set dress code. Our only recommendation is to wear closed-toed shoes, as there as several areas on the property with gravel and grass that you may need to walk through.

From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming. The staff provided great whiskey conversation and shared so much interesting history about the community and the distillery. We had the opportunity to sample an incredible lineup: * Weller 12 * Rip Van Winkle 10yr * Castle & Key Rye * Peerless Double Oak * Benson Valley Bourbon Every pour was smooth, flavorful, and clearly high quality. The pours were generous and the explanations for each one added so much depth. If you're into whiskey (or just good conversation and local history), HOC is a must-stop. From the moment we walked in just an amazing experience. We were part of a surprise party of 6 and…read morethe staff knew it. They created our birthday girl as a reservation for 2 instead of 6 and helped us surprise her at the table. The lighting is a bit dark but that helped the surprise. The manager brought out a sparkling wine and the chef sent out an amuse bouche. The pimento spread was so good we took a pint home for $20 (shhh secret). Our waitress Mo was professional a helpful with meal suggestions and separating some mushrooms for me. The shrimp appetizer is delicious and had 9 shrimp. The corn fitters come in 4 and Mo added 2. They were okay but I'd try something different in the future. The whole large kernels were odd in a light fritter. Our meals were fantastic. Everyone raved about bites of the filet and the chicken dish. The bolognese is a staple in the menu and was almost the perfect bite, perhaps a bit more meat in the sauce but the pasta was perfect. I had the wild boar and goat cheese polenta. The polenta didn't have a strong goatyness to it but was creamy, I ate it all. The boar was done to just short of falling off the bone. I used a piece of the grilled bread from my friends pasta to finish the meal. The wine list is short but complex. We had the Rioja red, so dry and smelled of old leather, but was a perfect wine to cut through the richness of the dishes. Our seat had a great view of the whiskey wall (almost every seat does) and it was a conversation piece the whole evening. Oh, forgot to mention the manhattan can be made into a black manhattan- outstanding. Best I've had in a restaurant. We are already making plans for our parties next birthday in July and will be asking for Mo. she was there at every turn throughout the meal. Pleasant and there to help at any point. The manager checked on us two times. WHP does fine dining so well. I haven't had such a wonderful evening for everyone in quite some time. We will be back and highly recommend. Will be sending out an executive's here when they are looking for L'ville dining. Well done. Sorry no pics, the room is dark and the ones I took don't do the meal justice.

Why oh why over-salt these?! Oddly the cook on both was very good but the seasoning ruined both dishes. Drinks 4.5/5: We had 3 different cocktails all of which were excellent.
