I must say I was very pleased with my overall experience at this location. My co workers and I decided to pop in for lunch as then had been and suggested I come to try small size chef salad. When I arrived it was busy but the safe was friendly and we were seated immediately. I was wondering since it was off Gray Street my initial concern was parking. To my surprise there was plenty of free parking on both sides of the restaurant. Since the city had a major water main break it they were not serving any water, fountain drinks, or ice. I appreciated them letting me know as that would have been a major health concern. I must say they have a very awesome menu with a variety of food options. Everything that other people ordered smelled good and looked good. I decided to order the Grilled Chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was to very moist and seasoned. I was disappointed with the Caesar dressing as it tasted with a strong mustard dressing. The decor on the ceiling was cute and that had a decent bar area. I also noticed there were a lot of food options on the Mon-Friday Happy Hour menu. Overall I would definitely come back again and if the dressing wasn't bad the would have gotten 5 stars. read more

I really hate when someone ruins a good place I love to come to for their EXCELLENT FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE, but this will be the last time I come here again. Thank you Ashley, who got a little impatient and responded very rudely and loud to me when I asked if she could run my card again because it was declining. They were busy so I definitely understood where she was coming from as far as it being so busy you get a little impatient and go off on a customer. But when I tried to talk to her about it as calmly and respectful as possible she still responded very rudely. I tried to be friendly about it, I told her "hey girl I've been there, it gets hectic and your all over the place and you get a little impatient" but she didn't care and kept trying to rush me out. They have a good selection and the happy hour Merlot was so good & fir only $2 since it was $2 Tuesday! I had to ask for the brand! Our waiter (I think Cody was his name) was excellent! On 10-26-19 at 6:30 p.m., we visited the West Gray location. I will not comment on the food because of what the female manager or assistant manager did. It became distasteful. Just after ordering, she came to our table to warn me that my lights on my pickup were still on. I responded with thank you, but they were automatic and would go off in a couple of minutes. Then, she said my pickup is parking in two spaces. I apologized walked to the front door. I was parked across from the front door and noticed the left rear wheel was a couple of inches over the crosswalk, which is faded but noticeably yellow none the less. Anyone who has been to that location and their other location on Shephard may have noticed that the parking lot stripes are for small vehicles. I told the lady that I wasn't taking up two spaces. And that the Mercedes parked on the other side of the yellow marked crossway was several inches over into the crosswalk. She replied that the area was no longer a crosswalk, and I was using two spaces, and I must move my vehicle. I did just that. I centered my pick up between the two white lines. I returned to my table, fuming. I again mentioned to her about the Mercedes. She didn't reply. I was so upset I told my wife that if we hadn't ordered I'd walk out. I didn't want to do that to the server who was very attentive. We quickly ate and left leaving a 30% tip. Upon arriving to the parking lot the Mercedes was still parked several inches over the spaceline. After moving my pickup there was no room available to park between my pickup and the Mercedes except a Smart car. I will not return to any of Barnaby's restaurants, which we frequent often. read more

I came to this place during lunch. The place was full, there was a bit of a wait but the hostess seemed to be very attentive and was able to get us seated pretty quickly. The environment is family friendly. They have a huge menu, and selection of food. We decided to give the burgers a try. We had the mushroom burger and bacon burger. The portions were huge! The meat for the burger was flavorful and juicy. The burger bun was a fluffy wheat bread. Definitely one of the tastiest burgers I've tried. Their menu prices are also very reasonable. The staff seemed to be very helpful. Although they were very busy, our food came out quickly. Our waitress was attentive, and very friendly. They have their own lot, so you don't have to be looking for parking so that's a plus. Overall a great cafe! read more

Very disappointed in my recent experience. Barnaby's had gone to the trouble of investing in expanding their parking lots. The bought lots, paved then and painted nice little stripes. But they couldn't be bothered to put in cameras or hire security. Even Whataburger has security. I won't be going here again. read more

After perusing the menu, my husband and I both settled on our choices, and then i previewed the kid's menu and ordered "Picky Pants" the Chicken Strips...i mean what kid does not love ChikStrips? Welllll...the plates arrived and "THAT ONE" assumed my presentation of melted loveliness was HERS!! While i was a little miffed, i quickly realized how wonderful this could be if she actually "went for it". So i allow her the first bite and hold my breath...........SUCCESS! Hubby and I with our jaws dropped just watched in amazement as this girl devoured MOST of the very generous portion. Who was this before us? This is my 'go to' Barnaby's in the city due to the excellent location and convenient roadways. Everything is always so good here. They are consistent with their taste with all items. My guilty pleasure must be the waffle fries LOADED of course. Any salad is good, just get the dressing on the side. Fantastic burgers and even more deliciousness with their sandwiches. I prefer their fries over bag of chips. You can also dine healthy, and/or have a glass (or two) of wine. I tend to order for pick up, but if you do patron this location, their parking has improved with an increase in spaces. Cheers to that alone! read more

My girlfriend and I came to Barnaby's for a bite to eat. We split the sausalito (sp) salad which was enough to serve 2-3 people. The salad had lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, peanuts, onions, tortilla strips, and cilantro lime dressing. We also had an order of sweet potato fries which had a nice spice to them and they came out hot/fresh. They have $2 wine and beer on Tuesdays which was a very pleasant surprise. I'm a huge fan of whimsical things, and Barnaby's nails that right on the head. It's my understanding the owner's aim was to pay homage to his childhood pup. The ceilings are adorned with clouds and pictures of winged items his doggo is hopefully enjoying plenty of in the ever after (shoes and T-bone steaks, mostly). We hold this place near to our hearts in my household. Completely accidentally, It's become a place that makes bad days a little better. First there was the day my then-fiancé came home from work to find me at my wits end trying to plan our out-of-town wedding. Nothing seemed to be going right that day and apparently it was written all over my face that the last thing on my mind was making dinner. Barnaby's was my now-husband's surprise solution, and it was a welcome escape from the shenanigans of the day. Then there was a similar boiling-point day at work a few months later. When we both realized how crazy the day had gotten, we headed to Barnaby's and all was right again. We take our out of town guests here often, and we're always warmly welcomed by the incredible staff. Without exception, it's a pleasant encounter with everyone who works there. Most recently after unexpectedly losing a dear friend of mine, still in a fog, we found ourselves a quiet booth at Barnaby's and watched a neighboring table of grandparents with their grandkids who unwittingly lifted our spirits. Beyond the sentimental value this place holds, of course, there is the food. It's generously-portioned and consistently delicious. There are healthy and indulgent options, both plentiful. It's a pretty mixed bag of cuisine options. Pro tip: they have smaller portion options of their salads, and even those are pretty large and yield some leftovers. No matter what kind of day you're having, I can personally endorse Barnaby's ability to make it even better. Give it a try. read more

The salads are massive, the burger look and smell delish, the strawberry lemonade tastes great and those chocolate chip cookies will give your life new meaning. I recommend the Chinese Chicken Salad. This is hands down my favorite location, except for their Midtown location that I haven't tried. I feel the food is always fresh and hot when it comes to your table. The fries are always fresh and well seasoned. I do get enough seasoning on my fries from the other location. The lebanese chicken fattoush salad is my favorite salad. Perhaps because it has this mint and slightly tarty taste from the lemon or lime they use. It also has enough dressing but not too much. For me, the smaller size salad in a big bowl fills me up! I brought my two teen nieces for dinner on a Saturday night and they loved it. I wanted to take them somewhere new and not a chain restaurant since they live in the suburbs and do not have a Barnaby's close to them. They kept taking selfies and pics of their food. read more

The classic burger was awesome, not greasy and the toasted wheat bun had a lot of flavor. My date ordered the meatloaf, which was also fairly lean while being extremely flavorful! When my husband and I can't decide where to go out to eat that doesn't have a dress-code requirement, Barnaby's is the spot for us. We often enjoy the food so much, that we are in instantly great moods! Last night, he had a seared tuna and fries and I had a garden burger with sweet potato fries. No one left the restaurant disappointed. We were a bit surprised that in the past when we've gone to Barnaby's for lunch, it was filled with a young crowd, but the dinner crowd was more family oriented. I guess this place pleases all!! The service could be faster, but maybe we felt this because we were starving - and when one is starving, a minute can feel like an eternity. Driving pass by Barnaby's you kind of don't really know what the place is because the of their cartoonish child like symbol out front, but the line of people waiting outside during the lunch hour makes you a little intrigue. I told my boss I was craving for some good ol fries for lunch, and he recommends this place, and what do you know... the food is pretty awesome! My boss took me here and I ordered a burger with guacamole and mushrooms, and of course with french fries! Yummmm!!!! It was a great call from my boss. The parking lot is small, so you have better luck finding parking on the streets, or expect to walk a little. So I went here during lunch, and if you're waiting for a table for more than four, there'll probably be a wait, but not too long. read more

We've lived in the area for about a year now and I'd say we've been to Barnaby's more than any other restaurant. At breakfast we always get the Green Eggs and something else. If you order the fresh squeezed OJ, you get one free refill. Lunch/dinner is usually a burger or one of the gi-normous hot dogs. Excellent mac n cheese, fries and sweet potato fries. We also enjoy the Strawberry Lemonade as it's not too sweet. Excellent carrot cake for dessert and I don't even really like carrot cake. And you can't overstate how nice it is to find a place with a decent amount of parking in this area. Barnaby's is just a welcoming place with really good food. What's not to like? read more

Portion sizes are huge, at least in my opinion. I usually get the same thing every time I go to any Barnaby's locations- the chicken mill valley. Succulent chicken, topped with spinach and cheese. I actually bookmarked Barnaby's café a while back to remind myself to try it out. My roommate and I were thinking about where to go, I checked my profile and we decided to give it a go. Upon walking we were told to sit wherever we liked. They have a good amount of booths, tables, and half-and-halves. We chose the latter. We started with an order of the sweet potato fries. These were the best sweet potato fries that I have ever eaten! They looked like little pieces of fried chicken, the way they were fried. They have a nice sweetness to them and a light crispiness that doesn't stop them from melting in your mouth. We didn't really use much of the chipotle BBQ sauce that accompanied them. The sauce was good, but not my choice of pairing. I ordered the Chicken Mill Valley, a grilled chicken breast smothered in a spinach artichoke dip style topping and covered in jack cheese, amazing! the topping has a nice smokiness to it and you could taste the char grill marks on the chicken itself. I got a side salad instead of the fries, since I already gorged on most of the sweet potatoes earlier. This salad was great! It had thick cut bacon on it and a killer homemade honey mustard (that is great for dipping the sweet potato fries in by the way). We sat fairly close to where all of the orders are put up to be taken to their tables and every thing that came out looked great and the salads are huge!!! Such a cute place! Daniel was our wonderful waiter. We started with the artichoke dip & chips and an order of the mac and cheese. Entree: Blue cheese bacon burger was good. Ordered the spicy Asian wings. This dish was delicious!!! If you've ever been to a Vietnamese wedding they serve a salad with shrimp chips, it was a great play on this dish. These wings were crispy with the sweet chili fish sauce topped with fresh cucumber and purple unions and cilantro. I absolutely enjoyed this dish! Came here right before closing and they were very accommodating to us. We ordered only the flat iron steak with steamed spinach and tuna salad sandwich with homemade potato chips. Both were excellent imo. Steak was perfectly cooked and there was only one bite where I noticed the steak had a bit too much salt, otherwise I couldn't have asked for a more perfectly cooked flat iron. The restaurant interior and menu is very inviting and just begs you to order more, to try out several items, but that will have to be for next time. What can I say, other than I just love this place. The food is always fresh, they give you the option of regular or waffle fries (Waffle fries please!). They serve their cokes in the 20 oz bottle with at least one free refill ( depends on who your server is) & they have Coke Zero. Their chocolate chip cookies (ask for it heated) are amazing! Their other desserts are pretty delicious too. My favorites are the Lebanese chicken Fattoush salad, the guacamole burger, and the pork chop. Their portions are huge, so if you do get a salad know that there is a smaller size. The one weird thing is there is a 6 ft nutcracker in the men's bathroom. The wait can be long during prime time and the waiting area is not the biggest. If it is raining, be aware the one lot in the back gets flooded and so does the dirt lot next to it. read more
