Great place. Food seems expensive until i tasted it. Quality that is hard to find. Owners are great down to eat people.

I wasn't impressed at all!! First it's super weird when you walk in because the sign says wait to be seated but there is no host and no way they can see you. Getting a seat took forever but they seemed to be under staffed to be fair and the waitress was very nice. The food wasn't good at all, and my quesadilla was burnt badly. It also took sometime to get the food. Not sure how they got so many 5 stars, maybe we just hit them on a bad day. read more

We went for brunch ... I was craving some pancakes with butter and we figured this trucker-friendly restaurant would deliver. We left asking ourselves, "how can someone mess up pancakes? ". They were dry and not very sweet. Even butter couldn't redeem them, they disintegrated into crumbs as soon as the fork cut through My fiancé had eggs Benedict and, oddly, these were quite good. Perfectly poached, the eggs soaked the English muffins and mixed with hollandaise to make that lovely slurpy mess. Friendly sweet folks but the food was just a disappointment. read more

Late lunch/early dinner at Barney's Roadhouse today. I had the BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado) sandwich with fries. Benilda had the fried catfish fillets with slaw, greens, and steak fries. There was no avocado on my sandwich, but this was quickly corrected by our server. The sandwich was very good and I loved the fries. The batter on the catfish was just a little too salty but the fish tasted clean, fresh, and delicious and the portions were generous. They had apple cobbler for dessert for only $0.50! A small portion but perfect for a yummy sweet bite to end the meal. Our server was very friendly and attentive (MBN). Very good first experience! Hopefully, we'll be back for the steak special! read more

I have to admit, it doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is absolutely delicious! I had the catfish and oh my goodness!!! It was so good it was tender, flaky, juicy, fried just right not too hard,not too soft,and the Green's were... I can't even say enough good things about these greens. The only problem I have is that they open too late and they closed too early. Aside from that everything else was well worth it. Oh! Don't forget to get a slice of cake, they're homemade and well worth the calories. read more

The two stars are for the nice staff. That's about the only positive. We went for one of the first weekends open. Food was good and staff was very friendly. I went back today to take my son for the Breakfast with Santa. That event was simple but good. The service was slow because there were only three servers and lot of people. The food was meh at best. The biscuits are very similar to Grands, if they are not in fact Grands. I didn't order hashbrowns but they ended up on my plate. I went ahead and tried them. It was more appropriate to call them grease with potatoes. The scrambled eggs are whatever, difficult to mess up and were fine. I wasn't sure what the grits were at first. The waitress sat them down separate from everything else. I tried a bite to see what it was. They were grits but not like any I had before and not in a great way. As far as everyone else says, it is expensive. For my son, he got gravy and biscuit with scrambled eggs. The kids breakfast is $5.99 with a drink. Ok. That's fine. (More than Jack's) I got the traditional breakfast for $7.99. I also got a tea for $2.79. They charged $1 to add cheese to my scrambled eggs. I get a quarter or even 50 cents but that's $1.10 (with tax) for a piece of cheese. At least warn me when I order it that it is $1 extra. So, for the two of us, breakfast with tip was $23. Do yourself a favor and go next door to Jack's for a better breakfast for a fraction of the price. read more

Today was my first time here. My food was crazy good and big portion. Everyone was very friendly and I got to meet the owner and her son. Wonderful people I will definitely be here every Sunday when I'm here in Alabama for dinner. Thanks to the owner and staff for such a great meal and hospitality. Brussels n bacon would have been good if they were cooked sometime this decade and the microwave was working to atleast heat the damn things up. Every bodies talking about how good the food but nobody talking about how expensive it is.and the portions sizes are small, I paid 16$ for two small pork chops a side of broccoli and a cup of cold slaw, I still ended up having to go to Popeyes after I ordered. Last Tuesday, I went to vote in the presidential election for the first time. Afterward, I wanted to give this restaurant a try. I've not been here since it was Austin's Steakhouse in the early-2010s. I was greeted by a waitress and seated instantly. I was placed near some televisions covering the election results. To start things off, I ordered a plate of chili cheese fries for my appetizer, with Mtn. Dew as my drink. This was served within 10 minutes; as my entree, I had a Stromboli sandwich on hoagie bread with fries as a side item. My chili cheese fries were enjoyable. Nothing was held back here; plenty of portions of each ingredient. The Stromboli sandwich was so-so, and very messy (as expected). I enjoyed the texture and seasoning of the fries, and it complimented the rest of my meal well. The menus were used up, marked on, and should be reprinted. The rest of the restaurant was clean, but not very lively on that particular evening last Tuesday. My waitress was kind, patient, and quick with the Dew refills. The service was acceptable and on-time for what I ordered. I may (?) come back to try other items on the menu; I sort of regretted the Stromboli sandwich once it was at my table. My family and I stopped in after church for lunch. My husband got the grilled chicken Alfredo which was good and not over seasoned. His portion was a great size for lunch. My son and I got different versions of the chicken sandwich. My son had the fried version and I had the grilled. Both sandwiches had huge chicken breasts that were well seasoned and didn't taste like they had been frozen before preparation. We also had the pimento cheese balls for an appetizer. Those were huge and were accompanied by a pepper jelly. You get 6 balls that are almost the size of a baseball and are fried in a panko breading. We definitely could not finish those. I had the daily special which was meatloaf with mashed potatoes, pinto beans, turnip greens, cornbread AND apple cobbler. $8.95 Huge portions. Very much worth it!! One in our party had the shrimp po boy. She loved it. The child's cheese quesadilla was large and very cheesy. Another diner in our party had the hamburger. This restaurant hasn't been opened long. It sits a little off the road and there isn't a readable sign from Hwy 7 had the hamburger steak and it was great. It wasn't dense and had a great flavor. We also had the fried catfish that was overly greasy. Also there was no bread?? The decor was nice and our server was very attentive and great. Food is a bit overpriced even for a locally owned restaurant. I will visit again, maybe for lunch, to give it another chance. Recently tried this place for lunch. I had the BLT and a chicken salad for the other member of my party. Food was alright but again was over priced. There isn't a real "lunch menu" just a special for around $9. read more

Very disappointed pictures on the internet look a lot better than it was!! The seafood platter was almost burnt and super salty almost to the point you couldn't eat it, hush puppies came out solid black. Went here on Father's Day with my son. This place was amazing. We started with breaded mushrooms and the pimento cheese ball both were very good, my son had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans, he loved it, he let me have a bite of the chicken it was very good.
