Excellent local Italian spot. We came here after a funeral and were able to seat 13 people within 10 minutes without a reservation. I am grateful for them. Regardless, the food was outstanding. The baked clams were really delicious and the pork chop with sweet peppers was outstanding. Great ambience, staff, and meals all around the dinner table. I have been a loyal customer for years, and I'm super sad to be posting this right now. Tonight my friends and I ordered takeout from Barosa. When my friend unwrapped her order we were disgusted to see that the chicken in her sandwich was severely undercooked. We did use DoorDash and complained through the app but were only given a $5 refund. When we tried to contact Barosa themselves they were very rude on the phone and told us it was simply not there problem. Safe to say I will be avoiding Barosa from here on out. It is extremely dangerous to serve undercooked food and they know better. Shame on you Barosa. read more

Can I give them 0 start? Came here with family for dinner. Their pizza not delicious and too dry and not enough saucy at all. Then I finished my water, after 10 min NO one came to my table and ask us how is everything, refill water. I was so thirsty cause pizza TOO DRY!! Then I asked the employee ( Mexican guy) there to refill my water he kind of give me his face. Then he brought the water and put it down on the table his was MUTTERING "OMG, RIGHT HERE RIGHT HERE! COMEDOWN" I was like are you serious? You NEVER refill our table's water and you are so RUDE. Then when he walked away he was talking Spanish to other employees and looked at us!! Frozen sangria and seafood salad was good. Chicken Marsala had no flavor and was very bland. The Marsala sauce was pretty thick. Maybe it was an off night? Ok so last evening we went to a great red sauce joint off the Lie @ Woodhaven Blvd. What a fabulous meal we had. First we split a seafood stuffed avocado which was the perfect appetizer. My wife opted for the traditional veal parmigiana with pasta, traditionally prepared which was very good. The star of the show was a Sicilian BBQ skirt steak which was prepared perfectly. The chef incorporated imported Sicilian honey in the homemade bbq marinade that wasn't only delicious but tenderized the skirt steak. I've had steaks from all over NY's greatest steakhouses but this "skirt steak" held its own and from an overall flavor perspective embarrassed the great steak emporiums of NYC Sorry I didn't clip a photo....I was caught up eating this Uniquely delicious Sicilian skirt steak. read more

I had my bridal shower at Barosa last month and it was absolutely incredible. Everyone was so helpful and supportive, the food was fresh, and the wine was flowing. They let us come earlier to decorate the room downstairs and helped us set up tables. The food was amazing - we had eaten there before on dates and I cannot brag enough about the pizza, the mushroom risotto, or the carbonara. My family had the most wonderful time at the party and my future MIL loved it so much, she started trying to convince others to host their parties there. I finally stopped by Barosa for an early dinner w/ 2 friends recently and we were not impressed. I ordered the margarita (they only have 1 on the menu, a pomegranate margarita). I pointed to it when ordering and ended up with a subpar regular margarita. It tasted like the mix you get from the plastic bottle at the grocery store and I'm not sure if it had any alcohol in it. There was no salt on the rim even. The waiter filled our water cups once. We were there for almost 2 hours and could not get the attention of anyone else to get more water. We got home and drank almost a full bottle of water we were so dehydrated. We had eggplant parm, chicken parm, and pizza and all were good. I got a cannoli for dessert and it was good. My friends shared the chocolate lava cake w/ ice cream and it arrived.....frozen? The entire plate looked like it had been forgotten in a deep freezer somewhere. The lava cake wasn't even cooked. They literally just threw a frozen lava cake on a plate w/ ice cream and dropped it on our table. About 15min later they finally got someone's attention (not our waiter, who was nowhere to be found) and she took one look at that plate and said "oh no, I know" and got them a new dessert which they enjoyed. At the end of the night the waiter spilled a full pitcher of milk all over my friend. She was soaked. That alone wasn't the worst, mistakes happen, but he made NO move to help her. He made no apology. He did not offer towels or anything. What did he do? He grabbed the CHECK to make sure it didn't have milk on it (it did, it was unsignable, but instead of replacing it they told me to "sign anywhere" so I'll be watching my bank account to make sure they don't do anything funky". At the absolute minimum they should have apologized for any of the above and most restaurants would have offered a discount for either the frozen lava cake or spilling milk all over my friend. We won't be going back. Our experience was identical to the critical reviews...so believe them. read more

This review is strictly for the pizza to go as I have never eaten in the restaurant, but I would certainly recommend. I've ordered from here countless times and the personal pizza is really good. The size is perfect, and the portion size just right. Although the service can be a bit of a wait as they do get really busy, I think it's worth it as the pizza always tastes fresh, not like they heated and reheated over and over. My only slight complaint is that I like my pizza well done and even when I request it, it isn't always consistently cooked well done. Sometimes yes, other times no. Regardless, this place still has my favorite pizza and I continue to go back. Great little spot. read more

Second time ordering from this restaurant thru Doordash. First experience was a good one , so ordered again today. Food was mostly well prepared and generous portions. Ziti especially was enough for next days dinner as well. However the Barosa Salad, which first time was great, was this time a flop, literally. They packed the salad directly on top of the Ziti so the heat from the Ziti ended up wilting the salad leaves and overall warmed the entire salad. A simple fix had they taken the care to use a piece of cardboard, as many places do, to prevent the heat exchange to what should have been a cold item. While I may still order from this store I will never order any salads or other items that might get unintentionally heated up in travel. Doordash did provide a 3 dollar refund but this was a 12 dollar dish so not quite a fair compensation for a failed main component of the salad. read more

Barosa is ALWAYS good. The service, food and drinks are top notch. We popped in last Sunday for a late lunch with my mom and the family. Sadly I'm having issues with heartburn lately so red sauce, fried foods and garlic are off the menu for me. We got an order of fried calamari for an appetizer, although I was unable to eat them, they looked wonderful and everyone else at the table enjoyed them and said they were very tender. My Mom ordered rigatoni with vodka sauce which arrived as a big delicious looking order. She loved it. My wife had pasta with cream sauce (I forget which one) again it was a big delicious looking portion. My daughter ordered chicken Parmesan with a side of pasta. Ditto to the two comments above. She took home more than half in a doggie bag although she said it was delicious. I had the ravioli, I pushed most of the sauce to the side. They were flavorful and cooked just right. I was a little taken aback by the serving size, only 7 medium sized ravioli, clearly was not enough. At the end of the day Barosa is always too notch and we enjoy each time we visit. read more

Love this place! I've been here a couple times. The ambiance is formal, yet cozy. The last time I was here they also had a singer in the main room. I've had their chicken parmigiana, salad, bread, eggplant and pasta. All of the food I've had here has been so good. It's very fresh and delicious. The service at the bar was very speedy. But at the table (on my last visit), it was a little slower. I think it was also much busier here as well then. Excited to be back posting on Yelp after a long hiatus. Inspired by Davey Pageviews ( One Bite Pizza ), my next reviews will be on everybody's favorite food - Pizza. The judging criteria is based on 3 items, flop ( how floppy is it) Ingredients used and the taste. Here we go. Lastily, we order the whole pie so it is freshly made to order. - Slight flop: the dough was a little dough but with a slight crisp. Despite being 'Brick Oven Pizza', there were no hint of burn, no charcoal on the bottom. - Cheese to Sauce: pretty even in terms of coverage. Yet, it isn't stringy and when it cools, it becomes slightly hard. I do not know what to make of it. Not a fan. - Taste: a hint of tangy, hint of sweetness from the tomatoes. I requested a sausage topping and they were very generous ( for an extra $2 ). $18.00, out the door, it is just medicore pizza. Rating: 7.1 ( including the hometown advantage ). read more

A few neighbors highly recommended this restaurant so I finally checked it out the other day with a friend. Everything was excellent. Food was fresh and presented wonderfully along with the great service. We had the baked clams, veal sorrentino and filet piccata and it was all delicious. Attempted to have an early dinner today while I was in the neighborhood. Decided to go to the smaller Pizza location next door. Upon arrival the young man at the bar immediately told us we couldn't sit at the bar because the seats were reserved. The restaurant was pretty empty at this time. We then asked to sit at a table to which had dirty dishes on it. He removed the dishes but didn't wipe the table down. In the meantime, we sat at the bar and the guy came back asked us to move from the bar because the people who reserved the bar would now be there at 5p. Overall, we were made to feel like they didn't really want our business. Had the seafood Avocado which was very fresh with the right amount of balsamic. Had the pasta with seafood special. A heaping platter of linguini with shrimp clams octopus calamari and a lobster tail. Absolutely wonderful, everything cooked perfectly and I requested instead of spicy fra diavalo sauce a mild marinara which they did perfectly. I brought half home because it really was enough for 2 people! Had the chocolate mousse cake and a decaf cappuccino for dessert. The waiter was busy and yhe host actually brought our food when it was ready so we'd have it nice and hot! Our waiter David was excellent.
