We had never been to this restaurant and found it on yelp and decided to give it a try. We were greeted immediately by a very kind server. She helped us make some decisions and was very friendly. We started with the clam strips. They were well done and served with a cocktail sauce. I had the grilled tenderloin sandwich, which was very good with coleslaw both delicious. The decor in the restaurant is very camp and appropriate for both of the city and the area. Love the leg lamp and also some Cubs memorabilia. The clientele is very diverse and it's obvious they are happy to accept everyone in the bar. We will put this on our regular stop list.

Clam chowder was highly recommended, which was not bad. A bit too salty but still good. The pizza is very lacking. Crust is very hard and dry. Cheese is ok, and the sauce is basically plain tomato sauce, at least tasted like it. The food is lacking. The server is nice and friendly. Definitely looks like a local hangout spot.

Philly Beef and Onion Petals

What a great find! I had added this place to my "To Try" collection way back in July of 2021 when it was trending high in a Yelp email. I had never realized how close it was to the Georgetown Medical Plaza on Century Plaza Rd. And you've heard of "never judge a book by it's cover," right? Same goes for this place. I was bowled over after passing through the door. It reminded me of a TGI Fridays like they were decorated back in the late 80's and early 90's, wall to wall things to look at and talk about. Think of a Crackerbarrel only with the lights turned way down. The first thing that grabs your eye is the 30 foot boat turned upside down and hanging from the ceiling. But in addition to a lot of nautical items and it being their main theme, there is a also NFL and Colts stuff too as well as a half dozen screens typical of any sports bars. I counted 14 seats at their long bar. There are also five tables that seat four right by the bar. I loved the menu making it hard for me to select one thing to try first. But I decided to go with the Philly Beef sandwich since it had been a long time since I had a good one. I was not disappointed! It was long and required me to cut in two which I did with the big saw knife they gave me. Lots of beef, with melted cheese and the right amount of bell peppers and onions made it perfect. I can't believe I ate the whole thing after dieting for 18 months. For my side, I decided on the Onion Petals. They were the bomb! Perfect in every way. Bite size and no biting into them and the onion pulling out of the breading like they do when they come in rings. The food came out of the kitchen quickly and the servers were attentive and scurrying around attending to all the customers from my vantage point in the back at the last bar table. There was a group table up by the window that sat at least six possibly seven. I couldn't see exactly the set up upstairs, but I think there was another group table or two and at least four booths. The place was frequented by a lot of police officers from IMP and you know they know where the best places to eat out are since they do it a lot. So that's always a good sign. There is plenty of parking on their side of the building and more in the rear if you get there at a popular time. I did not visit the restroom so I can't review it. I wish I lived close to this place to get carry out to take home. I would be a frequent flyer for sure.

I've always wanted to try this place and my friend and I walked in today. The smell hit us. It smelled like rotten eggs or rotten fish.

Small bar like restaurant. Have to get the tenderloin. It's big enough for two people and so tasty.

We sat on the patio, and although the shades were closed earlier in the day, they opened them later once the weather warmed up, which made the vibe even better. Our server was very nice and attentive, especially with our large group. We ordered a half mimosa tower, and I really enjoyed it. I also tried Rico's Coffee from the brunch menu, which was so good and paired perfectly with the brunch vibe. I ordered the French toast platter, which came with four pieces of French toast, scrambled eggs, brunch potatoes, and bacon. It was delicious and so filling that I had to get a to-go box. The yogurt parfait was also really good, and everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their food and drinks, including the Bloody Mary options and tea. We ordered liquid marijuana shots as a group and these were great. One thing to note: we brought a cake for our friend and didn't know there was a $25 outside cake fee, so be aware of that if you plan to bring your own dessert. After brunch, we walked around the beautiful grounds, and a few of us stayed longer on the patio. The high-top seating wasn't the most comfortable, but the drinks and appetizers made up for it. The whiskey sour was good, and we enjoyed the crab cakes, calamari, shrimp, and Rico's dip. This turned into an all-day affair with good food, drinks, beautiful weather, and great company. A really nice spot for brunch, celebrations, and patio time.

This was my second visit to Rick's, and probably my first time in ten years…read more I made reservations online for a group of 8 and it was super easy. Day of, the staff called to confirm numbers and where we'd like to sit. Check in was easy, but our seating request hadn't been transferred over, no big deal thankfully. Our waitress was super friendly, and kept well organized. She automatically provided separate checks without even asking. I ordered the roll basket and bacon jam burger. The rolls were fine, but nothing special. The bacon jam burger was super delicious. Overflowing with bacon. My only complaint is I ordered it medium and it came out more medium well to well done. We all agreed we enjoyed our experience and would have to come back again.

My boyfriend and I came on Mother's day (unintentionally) and we waited about 10-15 minutes to sit at the bar. Getting our orders taken & our food served definitely took a bit of time, but we enjoyed seeing all the cooks in action and getting to smell all the amazing smells!! I got Grandpa's one pan skillet and my boyfriend got the sausage breakfast sandwich on croissant bread. All I gotta say is those chefs definitely knew what they were doing! The flavors were unique and intentional and I enjoyed every bite. The home fries (potatoes) were also so yummy and everything was cooked really well. There's nothing basic about borage and I love that! This place is a gem. They also have a cafe/market area where you can order drinks and pastries. I wish we waited until we got seated to order drinks because the menu was much more extensive than what I saw in the cafe and I would have ordered a different drink had I seen all the other options. The staff here are also very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our little brunch and will be back with family next time!

Wow, this place is nice. The decor and ambiance is relaxing, that wood color is just nice. But…read moretheir food is where it hits the spot. Started with Ika Geso Kara-Age: crispy but soft at same time with good flavor; Popcorn chicken: very tender meat with good after taste in the batter. These 2 doesn't even need a sauce to enjoy. The shrimp tempura is just ok, it's something you can get at Trader Joe's (it's exactly the same). The main courses are Shoyu chicken ramen: the soup is so good and flavorful. That aftertaste that hits the back part of the palate. The Pork Tonkatsu Omurice combo: presentation was great, the sauce wasn't overwhelming and actually made everything good. The menu is overwhelming, but everything we had was great and very filling. Definitely will come back. Service was attentive but not intruding. It's also great to have a call button in the huts. Kyuramen is that type of place, though. It's said that first impressions count, and if you want to visit a restaurant that makes a great first impression, this is the place. It's hard to describe the decor, but I'll try. There's a big, fake wooden tree in the middle of the restaurant. All around the tree are cozy, intimate booth pods that look like little huts. There's also seating that looks like a honeycomb, with more intimate booths, and an upstairs, if you wanted to sit a little higher. Tables are in the middle of the room, and there is bar seating, as well. There's a robot server that glides around the room, although, I never did interact with it. Booth seating was procured, because I love to feel nestled in a cozy space. The menu is large, as there was not one menu but four different menus: the regular menu, the specials, the milk tea / boba menu, the sake / alcohol menu. It can be a little overwhelming if you've never been here, or if you've never had ramen, because there are so many options. Luckily, the menu has lots of photos and descriptions. Or! Visit with someone who has had ramen and has opinions about ramen. Or! Ask the servers. They are very friendly and helpful. I got the Combo A1, which is Tokyo tonkotsu shoyu ramen, plus a pork bao, and a matcha and red bean pudding for dessert. The ramen was good but not my favorite, and I think I'll order a spicy ramen next time. The bao was amazing -- so fatty and meaty, and it was probably the largest bao bun that I've ever seen, let alone ate! The matcha pudding was the perfect ending to the meal, and came with a delicate mini pitcher of cream to pour over the pudding. I also got to try the tempura shrimp, and I think that's what I'll be getting next time! This might have been the best tempura shrimp I've ever eaten. The batter was perfect and crispy, and somehow melted in my mouth. I might need to revisit just to get tempura. They have a nice selection of sake here. They got your cold sake, hot sake, jelly sake, cloudy sake and even sparkling sake. What's a girl to do? Order the sake! I was eating a hot bowl of ramen, so I opted for the cold sake, which was nice and refreshing. This is such a chill place to have a bowl of ramen or a Japanese snack. The private booths make this place the perfect spot for an intimate meal, but it's also a great space for groups because they also have table seating.
