We had a large group, around ten, so I feel like that is important context. 50th and France parking is always an adventure, but I'd recommend just committing to the nearby parking garage instead of circling and hoping for street parking. It felt as if he had the whole back area to do himself and you could tell it was too much. I would caution maybe 2 of 10 were truly spicy-hot, but my first mistake was in not ordering a cold Modelo, a perfect pairing with the peppers. My entree (see photo) was a chicken plate, good but I could do without chihuahua cheese melted on the chicken. Loved the black beans and rice. Our service was adequate, but he lost a star for not delivering a martini. My second mistake was ordering a Hendricks martini, up with a twist, and it never found me. The waiter clearly didn't know what that drink was. I mean, it's gin and vermouth, not some cutesy concoction with egg whites and dry ice. Eventually, the server apologized as it turned out they were out of that gin, or perhaps all gin, I don't know. Like a valet that can't drive a stick, servers of cocktails should know the standard drinks like martinis or why are you waiting tables? I declined a substitute for fear of what I'd receive. We went here for dinner and drinks and left disappointed. When we arrived, we were informed that the kitchen was closing very soon so we would have to order. The website notes that the restaurant is open until 10pm on Thursdays without any call out that the kitchen would close at 8 which was a bummer. Fortunately the menu isn't too extensive so we could select some food. We started off with the trinity margarita which is so delicious and I would give that a 5 star and return for that and the chips. The chips were so tasty and fresh, however the portion was not comparable to the salsa trio we ordered. My fiance ordered the quesadilla and was very disappointed with it. It was quite small and very thin. There was barely any meat in it despite it being a chicken quesadilla and he thought the toppings with salsa, radish, lettuce and jalapeno and whatever else actually made the dish horrible. When he scrapped off the toppings he said it was edible but not great. I ordered the steak taco and the pork belly taco. The steak meat in the taco was good, however the toppings really pulled away from the overall taco and made it taste less good. The first bite of the pulled taco was amazing but when met with the salsa, it overpowered the physical flavor and was just a heat storm with peppers and barely any meat. Neither of us would return for a meal. The only thing we would return for is the trinity margarita and the chips (maybe queso since the quac is noted as not fresh in many reviews). read more

I've enjoyed my dine in experiences, but this review is for delivery through one of several services we're all familiar with. The food I've received by delivery has been consistently average to poor. If I'm paying the same menu prices, then the food has to be the same quality. I paid for it after all. If your restaurant is giving people at the tables better food then you've told me everything I need to know. The chips were so fresh and hot, we asked for a second bowl (to finish the salsas we liked so much). I tried the pork belly taco and the ahi tuna taco, and when I go back, I will order the same thing again. This is a place I would eat at once a week, easily. Perfect Friday midafternoon "snack" with my adult daughter. Bartender Lukas was great as he fixed us up with spicy margaritas made with jalapenos and a bit of tasty salt on the rim of the glass. The trio of salsa is a staple and the snapper ceviche is so fresh and citrusy that you must experience it. Not fishy at all. The atmosphere was super relaxed today with some nice music playing and a group of four women across the establishment cackling and seeming mega happy to be "out" and about and enjoying the moment. Took a trip to Concina Del Barrio in Edina for a friends birthday and honestly I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. Service was spotty but it was a busy Saturday night so I will cut the server some slack. Everyone started with a round of margaritas, they have a great selection of specialty margs. I ordered their Black Diamond and it was really delicious. We also chose to start with guacamole which I will say is some of the best I've had. However, dinner was the down fall of this experience. I opted to try some of their ala carte tacos, the Mahi Mahi, pork, and chicken. Out of the 3 the pork was the best, but that's not saying much. It had pretty good flavor and was simple, with only pork and green salsa. I was most excited to try the Mahi but I was very disappointed. The fish was flaky but flavorless, the only flavor I got from it was the chipotle aoli; felt like eating empty carbs. The chicken was dry and also very little flavor. Many friends also tried the tacos and felt similar as I do. A couple had the chicken enchiladas and thought they were alright. If you are looking for a good Happy Hour this is a nice place! They offer some decent Happy Hour pricing on beers and cocktails as well as some food discounts. I've been here a handful of times and it's a fun place to meet up with people and enjoy some cocktails and share a bunch of plates. Our favorite must-have is the house-made guacamole! Great flavor, fresh, and a decent size with plenty of crunchy, salty chips. I've also tried the Queso Fundido (terrific cheesy goodness with soft, warm tortillas), Adobo Chicken Quesadillas (flavorful), and any variety of their tacos! The food is fresh, using quality ingredients, and a nice size to share or to eat yourself. A great staple Mexican restaurant in the heart of Edina. They have a ton of seating and delicious small plates. Almost similar to Spanish tapas style. If you think it's going to be busy make a reservation ahead of time so you can just walk right in. I've been before when it's packed and another time when it wasn't so busy. You just never know. The parking in the garage behind the building is free and just a short walk. After you get your Mexican beer, you gotta start with the giant bowl of gauc. The cumin dusted chips are unlike any other restaurants, a little spicy and sweet. I love the idea of the small plates instead is entrees so you can get a bunch of things to share. We usually get some tacos, the enchilada, Patatas bravas, enchiladas, gorditas, and tamal. All the small plates have pretty presentation with different sauces, cheese toppings and more. The only catch is that everything is single serving so if you want more than one enchilada you have to order it that way. A great place to meet friends or go on a date.
