I came here the other day and I'm sad to say that it wasn't good. I had ordered two different things at the beginning that they didn't have anymore. The Waitress mentioned they were getting a new menu soon. The fish tacos were ok. The salsa they have tastes like chalula, I guess I expected actual salsa. This place is great for drinks - I had the margarita flight, and they took care providing me drinks that were allergen free. They even made my drinks first before mixing others who were having drinks containing my allergens which I appreciated. I liked the food however for the portion and quality I think the price is a bit steep. I did not think that the food was particularly fresh, in fact my tacos tasted a bit stale. However, the chips and guac were great. I think I would come here again but I would go exclusively for the drinks. I'll start this review by saying how much I love Barrio. But, my wife and I decided to give this place a try tonight. And- wow, I'd so glad we did. Every part of our meal was quality. We ordered a margarita flight ($3 off on Thursdays, I think). They were great. We ordered some chicken tacos. They were so good. The flavors were deep and the meat was very high quality. The chicken was much better than Barrio (and remember- I LOVE Barrio). We ordered chips and queso. The chips tasted freshly made. Finally, we ordered nachos. Great concept, decor and tequila all behind a heavy door with the perfect peep hole. We had reservations, which was a plus, Ghost Pepper was packed. We were seated and greeted pretty quickly, drink specials were given, along with a list of tequilas. The orange margarita was delicious. We ordered the house salsa, a little bland fir my preference, but it was the consistency was authentic. We also ordered the pineapple guacamole, this however was full of flavor, great dish. We placed entree orders, which turned out a bit tricky. I opted for the Diablo shrimp bowl with rice, my husband ordered the pork tacos with the soft/crunchy shell combo...once the orders came out they were mixed up, after a few minutes the ordered were reversed and brought back out. Our entrees were okay, they were both hot, we knew that when we ordered. I guess i expected there to be more flavor to the shrimp than just searing heat, the rice was too wet so the combo just didn't work, the citrus slaw was good. As you can see, Ghost Pepper is funky, good vibe, but the lighting makes it hard to see the menu or anything for that matter. Terrible service. Can see what your eating lol! More like a nightclub without dancing or a dance floor. Food was...interesting and creative. Cheese sauce on the burrito was tasteless and bland. The chicken was good. The prices are not what they advertise and disclose. They don't disclose their service charges and surcharge on their menus which is a major infraction. So they charge you more than just sales tax without letting you know. Keep your eyes open. Salsa is garbage. If you get bad service and don't tip, or tip little, they will put their own gratuity on the charge. Dissapointing. Needs serious training and consultanting assistance on this one. Nice sign and nice pictures with a large bank account, doesn't quite deliver what is hoped. Has good promise. We saw a tik tok on how good this place is. So we decided to come check it out. It was very disappointing. The salsa was very bland. My food was so heavy handed with queso and seasoning I couldn't even taste the meat. My wife's tacos were also a let down. She had the one with the pulled pork and the pork was over cooked. She also got the grouper which she didn't even eat cause it just had a bad smell to it. The service is not the greatest. It wasn't a busy night at all and our waitress was super slow. The food here was delicious, but the serving sizes are off. Tacos are street taco size and you get 2 for $9-12, however 2 is not enough, but it's crazy to spend another $9-12 to get more..... The queso with chorizo is delicious, but they do not give you enough chips for the amount of cheese, and then they charge you for extra chips (I think it was only a couple bucks but still...) What a fun place!!! I will say, if you make a reservation, and they are full for the night, your reservation is only good for 90min The atmosphere is awesome! They might be under-staffed, like everyone else, but the staff is so nice. Our server was Danielle - she was awesome !! We tried a margarita flight (on point!!!!), some guac (peanut/honey), some salsa (we had the ghost), the quesadilla and the Bubba tacos. Everything was AMAZING. I have to say the orange habanero margarita is my favorite. If you can't decide what kind of margarita you like, sweet or spicy, you can get a flight. We started off with guacamole, salsa, and chips. I have my guacamole a twist and added the bacon and jalapeño which made it even better. All of their guacamole and salsas are made fresh to order! Every dish we ate off the menu has been yummy. What a great hidden "red" gem! We saw Ghost Pepper a few weeks ago when heading into Olmsted Falls and knew we had to check it out. It's in a random plaza with only the logo outside the building. It gives the vibes of a place that should be in Ohio City or Tremont, but in a plaza in Berea. The inside lighting and decor is so cool. The food and drink is even better. This place hard to find but worth it when we finally located the joint. We were visiting from out of town and the directions took us to the next door location because Ghost pepper was literally not easy to locate. The food, drinks and staff made up for it so good we even went back a second night and ended up meeting the owner. I made suggestions about Al Le Carte tacos for those that want to sample each.-- the answer was NO lol (yelpers keep trying!!) We entered the red lights were cute and it wasn't over crowded. We LOVE spicy food, so I had to come try the Ghost Pepper tacos. This restaurant is almost an hour away, but we so glad we make the trek. The atmosphere was very on theme and relaxed. Great date night! Started with the margarita flight which was a great way to try a few different flavors. I really enjoyed the Orange Habanero one! Hubby got the bistecca tacos (flat iron steak, cabbage slaw, creamy avocado verde, roasted corn, cojito cheese) and I got the Floridian (blackened grouper, pineapple salsa, queso fresco). I do wish there was an option to add a third taco for a few dollars more (each order is 2 tacos). Would also love to be able to mix and match. We've been talking about trying this place, we arrived at 8:20pm. The closing time online was 10:00pm. The bartender informed us that the kitchen may be closed at this time but she would check. This was fine with us, we could've just gotten a drink and went elsewhere. She said she was still taking orders so we ordered tacos and queso, both very good. The aesthetic of the restaurant, and the menu was very appealing, however the bartender made it clear she didn't want us there, the couple sitting next to us informed us of the drink specials. The bartender turned all the lights on at exactly 9:30. When I asked what time they closed she said "we close at 10 but we never stay open that late" Overall, food was good, margaritas were great, bar was cool. Service was subpar as we almost didn't feel welcomed, which definitely threw off the vibe. This misunderstanding could possibly be fixed by changing the hours of operation online! read more

The drinks weren't the greatest. I got the lemonchello margarita. Unfortunately, it only tasted like tequila. The corn dip was very watery and the queso was so so. Our party ordered tacos and a bowl. The rice tasted like it was a popular store bought brand and the tacos were alright - nothing earth shattering. this place is extremely annoying, like it's always "something" with this place that always leaves you irritated, like i legit just tried placing an online order at 8:20 something pm (since you can't call and place a takeout order like a normal restaurant) on April 5 2023 because Google and Siri says they close at 9pm on Wednesday after placing my order, my mother went to go pick up the order for me but they closed early and some guy named Kenneth called and said they can't make the order because they closed, thats bs, i do not care what reason it was, they should stay open until the designated time that's posted online. period. and when you order online for takeout, you're FORCED to leave a tip, there's no option for "no tip" but there is a tab that says custom tip, but that's dumb, i just want the option to opt out and click no tip without all the extra steps. also, i genuinely hope this place closes down, it's such a headache dealing with these people. read more

My wife and I decided to give this place a try on a random Wednesday night for dinner. We walk in to an extremely super loud and dark atmosphere. All of a sudden all eyes turned to us. We felt extremely out of place as everyone was I n groups and mainly wearing sport coats abd dresses. Not sure if this was a with parry or a special gathering for somebody but we felt judged. We were just in jeans and t shirts. Not sure what the dress code was. Secondly, no worker came up to us to see what we needed, didn't see anyone working as a server and didn't know what we were supposed to do. My wife and I left. I'm not gonna give it a poor review for any certain topic. We were excited to try it bit felt uncomfortable so we left. I'd recommend getting the ghost pepper dust on the side and experiment, otherwise it could be trouble! Crazy hot stuff. My wife had the Al pastor and barbacoa tacos and enjoyed both. I have to say I had very high expectations coming to eat here. we ordered the chips and house salsa which was amazing! ordered a side of queso which never came. the drinks were on point and great but took forever when the restaurant and bar were not even busy...we ordered our food well before our 3rd guest joined us, and our guest got their food way before they brought out wrong items to our table for the 2nd time. at this point our server had to come over and re-ask us what we ordered...at that point we told her to forget about our food since we had been there for a hour already. Ghost Pepper is our favorite new place to eat! We have taken so many groups of friends and family there and everyone absolutely loves it. It's such a break from the typical Mexican restaurant. The food and drinks are innovative, fresh, creative and absolutely delicious. We drive 40 minutes once or twice a month to go. Highly recommend the jalapeño margarita and the Ooh La La tacos.
