No stars!!! We went for a nice evening and our receipt came back all messed up. There were random things added that we didn't even order that we were going to have to end up paying for. The waitstaff was giving us attitude because we were upset over THEIR mistake and they even went as far as to get mouthy and mad at us. They kept us an extra 30 minutes longer than we needed to be there as we were trying to get this figured out with again, no help from the staff. Lots of attitude and sass for their own mistake. The place is garbage. If they aren't forgetting your protein that you ordered for your tacos then the servers will be walking around mindlessly. Absolutely awful place to go to eat. The only thing that will keep this place afloat is that it taste like barrio. This location spits in the face of the other amazing locations. Get it together and be better. Disgusting. Not to mention that while you're waiting 20 minutes just to get your chips and queso, then another 30 for them to take your order, that the servers will be at the host stand laughing and conversing. Only to look up from their mindless stupor when a customer comes in and they're forced to do their job. Let it be known that I have given this place SEVERAL second chances, even after my first ever visit was a disaster. Honestly, how do you forget a protein? See my attached photo for reference. I've also seen other reviews in which this has happened as well. In this instance I ordered to go, but to even submit the order you have to pick a protein. This place is so bad, that when I picked up this order they were just talking to each other as I'm standing there. I had to assert myself into their conversation just for them to realize I was waiting. Then I watched the order come out and ended up waiting another 5 minutes until I had to ask if my order was the one that they just brought out. At first they said "No" in a condescending tone, then after another 5 minutes I started to get very frustrated and told them to check the name. Guess what? That order was mine, and these people wasted my time with zero regard for me in general. Laziness, incompetence, horrid service. Take your money to Lakewood or tremont, as the 15-30 minute drive will save you from wasting your money. Stopped at their Strongsville Mobil truck today and had a tasty lunch. Not a great idea to eat soft tacos in your car as they are stuffed to the gills and I spilled a bit. Had the pulled pork which was my favorite, the ground beef and pulled chicken. Quite a filling afternoon meal. I'll be back for sure and hope the Strongsville location opens soon. read more

I have loved Barrio. From the tacos I've had at the baseball stadium downtown to a few times at their downtown location to the food truck in Strongsville. But our first time to the restaurant in Strongsville was as huge, huge disappointment. From the backward hat guy addressing customers at the welcome/host stand as "boss". To the 35+ minute wait time for take out. To the soggy and pretty damn terrible tacos we paid $26 for...to the girl walking out and saying "sorry they were training people" as she handed out food to us. To getting our horribly made food and not having the motivation to go back in ask for a refund....soggy chicken with not much toppings other than the soggy chicken. At the end of the day Barrio is Barrio and it's always an experience filled with great tacos and margs! I will say that it was very apparent that this location has not been open long. Our service was off at times. No one was rude to us at any moment, but it just felt like our waitress had other things on her mind. This was one of my weakest Barrio experiences and I've been to multiple other locations at least 10 times. We decided to meet some friends for Happy Hour at this restaurant. Advertised was $4.00 margaritas for happy hour. When asking the bartender what margaritas that the happy hour special included, she named about 6 different flavors and so I ordered from one mentioned (blackberry). She never indicated that there is an up-charge of $2.00 for a flavored one. What part of "what's included in the happy hour price?" is not understood? I was billed $6 each for my $4.00 happy hour margaritas. Then we ordered tacos by filling out the checklist provided. It stated at the top that the tacos were $3.75 each. Listed below that were options (proteins, sauces, cheese, rice, etc.) to choose from and some items had additional prices. So assuming that you choose items that did not have an additional price next to it, we thought each taco would be $3.75. When getting our bill, we were charged extra for rice (which had no additional price next to it). Apparently rice is under "protein", so because we chose 2 proteins, we were charged extra. Ask any nutritional expert and they will tell you that rice is definitely NOT a protein and never has been! In addition, my husband ordered a bourbon which was 1/2 off for "Whiskey Wednesday" (apparently until 6pm). The bourbon served (which was under 1.5 oz.) at half price was $4.50. Another one was ordered after 6pm @ $9 but was filled much more (prob 2.5 oz). So half off also means half as much? Where is the savings, then? I'm not sure if this happens at all locations, but I feel everything advertised for happy hour is very misleading and dishonest. I would recommend to Barrio to be very specific to the additional cost of each item added to the tacos and to be forthcoming that a $4.00 happy hour traditional margarita is the only one at that price and if you order a flavored one, it is extra. And to anyone patronizing this restaurant, beware of the false advertising! read more

I have been waiting for this place to open for over a year now and was so excited to finally go but I'm going to be honest- it was a let down. I ordered a Paloma which was watered down and a struggle to get down bc of all the sour mix. Not good. The guacamole was super stiff and dry. Not creamy or flavorful and I've never had bad guacamole. The queso was good but the tacos were not. The waitress was too busy to remember our chips and drinks refills. So overall the positives were good queso, cool decor, and a good location. read more

Love Barrio in Lakewood. So I was excited to order Door Dash from Barrio Strongsville. At work my staff and I ordered a larger order. Unfortunately, all of the orders were messed up. My steak tacos were missing steak. Other orders had the wrong meat. The chips were all broken up. Salsa was missing. Called to notify manager and he said to notify Door Dash. I came into barrio for dinner with my friend around 9pm. Our server had ignored us on multiple occasions. Took forever to take our orders. It took forever for our food to come out. It was not super busy and we always order the same amount and it took quite long. I had ordered a bowl and forgot a fork, so I had to wait at least 15 minutes for our server to come check on us and had to ask for a fork. The taco that i ordered was completely lop sided so it was difficult to eat. It also took a long amount of time for her to cash us out. All our server did was check on other tables and chit chat at the bar. Over half of the time our server Olivia R was no where to be seen or was at the bar chatting away with her co workers when she had multiple tables. read more

Be carefull I was misled on the final bill and will not return because of deception. they handed me a hand held device with total and tip amount I wanted to add. I was unaware that a 20% tip was already preloaded to the bill. when I asked how to give her 20% she had no clue. I added $20 to the total. I believe in tipping the servers and always tip. I have been to several Barrio locations and this one is awful. Overcharged for the tacos we ordered and no meat in any of them. Showed the server who said, "Oops, they are being stingy tonight with the meat." WTF! Who says that? No manager in sight. Maybe they ran out of meat. Food was cold. First I must disclose that this is not "my kind of place" generally. I prefer the traditional (Americanized?) Mexican place - bright lighting, bright colors, large portions, wide selection. This is not one of those places. Perhaps they are going for a more (I assume) traditional Mexican taco - and it seemed to be the only thing on the menu. I further assume they are appealing to the younger crowd looking for an "experience" rather than food. The lighting was dark and the high ceilings made it very loud inside - maybe that appeals to some - but I'll pass on the loud cafeteria feel. The artwork is a bit dark - literally and figuratively - for my taste - but whatever appeals to their target audience I guess. I ordered the closest thing to a "regular" taco they had - and it was too spicy - with only meat, cheese, Lettice - and the amount of meat I would describe as miniscule. The dip for the chips was even too spicy and had a darker smoky taste to it. Again, not my preference. The service was very good. Our waitress took my tacos off the bill when she saw I couldn't/wouldn't eat them - I told her that wasn't necessary. But even with those taken off the bill was very high - almost $50 - for 2 drinks each - 2 mixed drinks and 2 beers - and 3 "tacos". My friend liked hers - she likes spicy - and she said hers were REALLY spicy. So, not for me. Too expensive and not my style. Those that like this style of food may like it. read more

Stopped in to this newer taco place after seeing it pretty busy for the past few months... We arrived at about 2pm in the afternoon on one of the first warm days of the year (May 10th/Tuesday) and was aeated quickly on the patio. As many have noted there are BYO (build your own) taco menus which seemed prerry straight forward. We opted for a few tacos off the short menu and both were delicious and reasonably priced! Each of us had a menu Margarita and again, both were delicious. As we were wrapping up and getting ready to leave, many other customers had rolled in. The place has a cool and relaxed vibe. Terrible service! My husband and I sat and waited for 10 minutes while 10+ servers walked by us/looked at us but didn't bother to greet us or take our order. We had our 6 month old son with us and I asked the host 2 times for a high chair, which he never brought over. Needless to say, we packed up and left. WATCH YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD. I've been to Barrio Tacos in Strongsville twice and on both occasions they ran charges twice on my debit card. One day the full amount was charged the following day a pending charge hit that stays on my account for a few days which caused a bank alert that my account overdrawn. The food & drinks are good but I don't know that I will go back until they fix their POS system. read more

My friend and I went to barrio around 9pm for a late birthday dinner and we noticed it was decently busy for a wednesday night so we knew to expect a little bit of a wait. We actually got seated right away but it took a little bit for the waitress to come over and throughout the night we were blatantly ignored. We waited patiently for her to grab our order papers and we ended up getting our food after people that came in after us. To top it off the food came out cold and the bacon was hard and my tacos were mainly toppings. We were nothing but nice and patient with her because I work in the restaurant industry as a server/bartender so I completely understand things happen sometimes so maybe she was just having an off day. When we were ready to cash out and we watched her stop at every table except ours BEFORE we got our checks and AFTER we received our checks and had payment ready.
