So every time I come to AZ for work, it seems I get to come to a Barro's at least for one lunch. I grew up eating Barros in CA in the SGV when I was a kid and reintroduced to Barro's when my daughter was out here for work about 5 years ago. I especially love their lunch special. Today I got the two pizza slice and a drink special. One pepperoni and one sausage. Always great food. I ate one slice and took one to my hotel room for a late snack. Service is always great. Employees are nice and service is good. Been to this location a couple of times in the last month. This past Friday 5/1, my wife and dined here after her late night soccer game at a local park. Granted we arrived at 10:10 ish, they close at 11. I ordered wings and we both had the cheese ravioli. Food came out like warm to cold at best. Disappointing and put a damper on the experience. Friday is Pizza Friday at our house. We've tried others, but Barro's is best! Also the best... the antipasto salad. They are generous with the pizza toppings and it's never dry. Best pizza ever! We had it last week and I forgot to write a review, I loved it so much I had to have it again. We usually get cheese pizza with green peppers but hubs added pineapple to half, which I thought sounded like a terrible combo. Well.... I tried a slice and instantly regretted notating it to the entire pie! I didn't make that mistake again! This week we added pineapples and had it cut "party style". One pizza was a supreme with pretty much everything on it, I will say they load it with toppings so that is a plus the PROBLEM is they center loaded the toppings the toppings literally end a half inch or more from the crust so mostly your last bites are sauce and if your lucky cheese. Cheese pizza same deal on some pieces 1/4 of it is sauce! The taste was okay, the boys liked it so that was a victory. SALAD was really good! Nothing fancy, iceberg lettuce, tomato, cheese...it's tacky to say but whatever kind of ranch dressing they use is delicious! There's been a BOOM of pizza joints in the last couple of years. Some good, some exceptional and some lack luster. All of them trying to earn our business and our hard earned bucks. Barros is consistent. I like that. They continue to provide exceptional customer service. The beer selection is still better than some nearby bars. Atmosphere is keeping with a family theme without the excessive arcade games, tickets earned, Made in China trinkets, cartoon characters or the organ music. And pizza is solid good. Gimme thin crust and nobody gets hurt. Hey, I'm thoroughly enjoying all the best pizza options around the Valley, but Barros is the real winner for consistency and good taste. read more

Terrible pizza. They don't follow directions on the order and when you call to complain about how the pizza came not how you ordered, they give attitude about it. The food here is embarrassing. Did not realize how much I missed Barro's until I had one today for lunch. I had the Italian sausage on the traditional crust. It was 5* and caused my mind to wander back to the days of homemade pizzas that my mother made for us back east. I was away this summer to avoid the heat & humidity of the monsoon season. We were enjoying our pizza and a child at the table next to us licked all the cheese shakers which is not Barros fault, but I personally walked to the manager after the family left and told them about it. Not sure why I haven't written a review for Barro's Pizza yet when its been a fast lunch time favorite for years now. Barros has great lunch specials that do not break the bank, I always go for the 2 slices and a small drink for 4 bucks, and with tax it's still under 5 bucks, and they don't skimp out on the size of the slices. They have different daily specials, when I went it was the Hawaiian, so I ordered a slice of Hawaiian and a veggie. Both where delish! Great crust, good sauce, decent amount of toppings, all that makes for a great lunch time stop! Service is friendly, food is great, glad to have them on my fast lunch time eats list! read more

Ordered a hot wing pizza, and cheesy bread sticks (yes I feel fat). The hot wing usually comes with ranch, but it doesn't anymore I suppose. I had to pay extra for ranch. Yes this sounds like a rant, but hear me out. It was pickup. Went and picked it up. Should've checked inside the box, but no ranch as I find out. And we're already home. The games starting. Eh. The thing that bothered me, is that they weren't even busy! Restaurant was about 20% full. They had no realistic excuse. The other on going issue, is that the pizza is never cut! The managers usually cut the pizzas, and for some odd reason, it's me always tearing apart pizzas lol. The slices are no where near even. One could be 2.5 slices wide, and the other could be a quarter size slice. Pictures don't do it's justice. Called and spoke to a girl, which led to speaking to another girl...explaining the issue again, and the 2nd one chuckled before she yet again put us on hold to speak with a manager. After meeting and knowing about 5 members of the Barros family...I'd expect them to eventually raise their standards of their staffing. read more

I used to travel often to this area for work and ate at Barro's pizza locations regularly so when we went on vacation to Phoenix over Christmas, I was excited to visit Barro's again. Unfortunately I was disappointed in this location. We arrived about 15 or 20 minutes after they opened for the day and at least 3/4 of the tables were dirty. I couldn't understand why so many tables were dirty when they just opened unless the crew from the night before didn't clean before closing the restaurant. The food was good and tasted just as I remembered, but I was completely unimpressed with the dirtiness of the location. Some of the tables were sticky also, even after being wiped down, as if the finish was damaged. There were still ring marks from glasses after the table was cleaned right in front of us so I'd say these tables need a good clean and maybe a refinishing. I do think maybe Barro's management should find out why a dirty restaurant was what some of the first customers of the day saw. read more

Celiacs Rejoice!!!!!!!!! **************** We eat here all the time (dine in and take out) and have always had an excellent experience. The girls up front are kind and cheerful. The pizza is hot, fresh and reliably yummy. Best of all, two of us have Celiac Disease and have eaten their gluten free pizza and never had any issues. Today the manager told me the wife of the owner has Celiac so they take it very seriously...separate prep areas and everything. So happy to have a safe, delicious family pizza place. read more
