Great little sandwich shop!! Very clean, Great service. Hubby and I were looking for a new place for lunch and Barrow's did not disappoint. My husband had a Reuben, and I had a delicious sandwich on what seemed like fresh pumpernickel. We both had chicken soup, which is not made on the premises, but seemed homemade. It hit the spot! We also ordered one of each of their macaroni, pasta, and potato salad. Once again, everything very homemade and delicious. We can't wait to come back. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Love it when I roll the dice and win! Just landed in Tampa and needed something to hold me over until dinner. Love walking in and the owner not only takes my order but delivers to me when prepared. I had the Philly which is a cross between a Philly Cheesesteak and a Cuban. Delicious. Will definitely return when in town!

Immediately I was impressed that their website updates the Rios daily and has a comprehensive and easy to understand menu! We decided what we wanted and called in. The man on the phone was so polite, friendly and efficient! Noon on a weekday and still 10-15 min only for pickup. The soup that day was cream of asparagus and it was SO GOOD. Perfectly wrapped to be transported safely home and piping hot. I went with the egg salad on a whim and it was perfection. My friend had the turkey Rueben and loved it too! Both came with a wrapped pickle for the sandwich and crackers for the soup. All very fresh, homemade and tasty. Additionally the prices were fair and Al the sandwiches came in a half or whole size and soup a cup or bowl. Will definitely order here again! (Also plenty of easy parking for Togo!)

2nd time trying Barrow's after living in this area for almost 10 years. Although the food was ok, there are much better deli sandwich and soup options in this area. I was pretty disappointed in both the soup and sandwich I ordered. The bread on the sandwich tasted like it was a month old; dry, crumbly, flavorless and stale. The bread was such poor quality it did not keep my sandwich together and it was falling apart with every bite. The soup was potato bacon and was all broth, bi chunks of potatoes and just tiny bits of bacon. It was also very watery and thin when that type of soup is usually thick and creamy.

A new favorite place to get a sandwich. My husband says he knows why this place isn't as popular as other delis in the area - the clientele is older. I asked him if that made his sandwich taste worse. He begrudgingly said no. I'll admit, this is not a place to see and be seen, but man is their chicken salad sandwich to die for. I could write the review with just this one sentence: get the chicken salad sandwich; you're welcome. Since I'm a wordy person I'm going to write more. This place is tiny, but it isn't that busy. Even though there isn't a lot of seating it was still really easy to get a seat. Same with the parking lot. Even though it isn't that big, there were still enough spaces. This is great for my neuroticism. I hate trying to find parking, waiting in lines, and waiting for a table. We went at 12:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, which should be prime food time, and didn't have any issues. The people manning the counter are super nice. When I ordered the chicken salad sandwich (because so many of you recommended it) he made sure I was aware it has curry and wanted to make sure I liked pumpernickel. Heck yes I want the sandwich the way it is intended to be. It literally took a couple minutes for them to make the sandwich and get it to my table. The sandwich is big! I got just the sandwich and was full until dinner. It has a good heaping of chicken and the sweetness of the plump, golden raisins really completes this sandwich. The pumpernickel is super hearty and is great to hold up the heaviness of the chicken salad. This is my favorite chicken salad sandwich to date. I left here full and happy. That's all I can ask for when visiting a business.

Tuna and egg on rye with a side of potato salad. YUM!!

Barrow's is a hidden gem in South Tampa. Great food, quick service. Not pretentious. This is a great non-chain lunch spot to try out!

You have to try the hummingbird and princess cakes!! I finally had the chance to cater from wrights and was beyond impressed. I only needed a few things to add to what was already planned and went with a veggie tray and a couple cakes. The veggie tray is a fresh, plentiful and unique selection with a stand out homemade dill dip for serving. The alpine cakes were also a huge hit! Service for lunch is always fairly quick and with the recent renovation, the seating area is nice. The service for catering is helpful and quick. He's be a good candidate for a meal with table service if it was offered. I was more than willing and happy to wait to for our sandwiches. However, I know our time is limited and every minute with him counts. I enjoyed our meal and look forward to bringing him back sometime soon. Note: the ice machines were out of ice and needed to be refilled. He didn't seem to mind but it would have been nice to enjoy a soda with ice.

I was feeling like getting some food from my people so thought I'd try this German spot. Up first was the #3 Reuben for $13.95. I love me a good Reuben. However, this is not the place to get a Reuben. Super thin, barely any meat or flavor. It is mostly eating bread. Avoid. Up next, I can't remember what the other sandwich was, but it was bad. I think it was a Cuban, but not sure. It was straight bread. Take a look at the pic. Now, the only above average food item I tried was the German potato salad. I would come back here only for that. Tons of German beers here and souvenirs.

My lunch was fantastic and I started out with a bowl of matzoh ball soup for eight dollars and then I highly recommend this huge deli sub called the Cranston Kevin. Huge sandwich for $20 and worth it and the potato salad is pretty good as well. I added a picture of the sandwich which is almost like a French dip, but it's got turkey on it as well.
