    Nice BIG cup
    Alicia P.

I'm really feeling like this is a 3-star spot here...my first time here years ago was probably a 2. The food nor the experience was any good. But last weekend, I thought I'd just give it another shot...and I was very pleasantly surprised. So, I walk in, up to the counter - because that's where you order your food and pay. Then you sit. But if the tables aren't bussed or cleaned, you'll need to ask to have something cleaned off for you. Then you wait and although you may have ordered coffee, you may not get it until the meal comes, so once I sat and no one brought me silverware or water or anything, I asked to have my coffee beforehand. The nice young girl said ok (she was very nice) but then she proceeded to clean off tables. Then, she went to the back of the counter and I thought I'd get my coffee (yay!) but instead, she came out again to wipe the tables down. Then, once that was all done, then I could have my coffee. I will say the coffee was in a nice BIG cup and was super tasty! I am enjoying this and watching the minimal traffic out the window ride by as I wait for my food. Then the food shows up and it looks fantastic! So I eat the soft, flaky, egg-filled croissant and it is VERY good! Much better than my previous visit so long ago... So on food and coffee taste alone, it's a 5 for a small, simple spot that I hope remains where it is and doesn't get run out like every other local, independent mom n pop shop in the area seems to be doing... I would say the cons, however, are no one came to ask me how my meal was, no one asked if I would like some water or anything else. In fact, when I wanted more coffee, I had to go up to the counter with my cup and ask for more. They were certainly nice about it and I enjoyed finishing that 2nd cup... But don't expect full service. Will I return? You betcha! Just be aware of what you are walking into. Now I know. :)

Cooks is a great local brunch spot. It is British-themed/inspired and has decorations to reflect that. The kitchen is charmingly homey and could be mistaken for a kitchen in a suburban house! I got the pancakes which came with a side of fresh fruit, and my girlfriend got the lox bagel. The pancakes were fluffy and thick, and the syrup tasted fresh. Overall, I loved the small-town atmosphere of cooks which is nestled deep in south tampa.

What an adorable little eatery on Gandy near Bayshore boulevard. The hubs and I were on our usual Saturday afternoon bike ride and decided to find a place to have lunch. Google Maps took us to this little gem where we had a wonderful lunch. The place is small, simple and has a home-cooked meal kind of vibe to it. The kitchen is open, they offer soup, sandwiches and salads. They also have dinner specials listed, which we plan on trying another time. Food was great, staff was very nice and I loved all the British decor of flags, royalty-themed books and the "Keep Calm, Carry On" items found throughout the space.

Treat counter, open kitchen where they cook.

The staff were so friendly and the food was great I loved the British decor and menu. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast or lunch, they are closed for dinner.

I've passed by this place countless times and never thought anything of it until a friend suggested going for lunch. It's a small place packed with a ton of goodies. They do breakfast, lunch, and have to-go options for dinner. There was a good list of sandwiches and salads that it was hard to decide. I opted for the roast beef sandwich and potato salad as my side. The sandwich came with very fresh tomato and lettuce, Dijon dressing, and tender roast beef. The potato salad was more of potato with dressing and it was fantastic. Nothing I've ever had before. It was a nice surprise to see that it came with a little lettuce salad too. They have a good selection of chips and candies you can choose too. My friend got the Coronation Chicken Salad, which she had said was her favorite. There's a British theme to it so some of the selections are things you wouldn't normally see, but I'd love to try some different things. I will definitely be back for lunches in the future!

Stopped this morning for a late breakfast, the pancakes are top tier, the fruit was incredibly fresh and diverse compared to what you normally expect. Bacon was cooked to perfection and the service was quaint and welcoming.

Cook's Kitchen is a delicious English restaurant and hidden gem in South Tampa! We stopped in for brunch and were able to find parking quickly; they've got a good amount of spots storefront and alongside of the building. If for some reason all the spots are taken, Bayshore Animal Clinic across the street has spots and they're closed on Sunday so you could park there in a pinch on Sundays. -The inside is nice. It isn't fancy but it's clean and smells great equipped with one gender-neutral bathroom. -The food quality was superb, came out in a fair amount of time, and was piping hot. -The service was great too. After we were served our food, one of the cashiers came by to check on us and refilled our coffees free of charge, which was appreciated.

Stopped in for a quick cup of coffee and they didn't disappoint. Coffee was hot, smooth and fresh. Scone was delicious with cream and jam served along side. Will definitely go back again!

They have over 300 artisanal, imported and domestic cheeses, I find something new every time I go! The ambiance is what makes it special to locals, it feels like stepping into a traditional Italian market and it's hard to find elsewhere in Tampa. Definitely a staple for St. Pete! The market is almost always busy, so go right when they open or later in the afternoon on weekdays or you'll be standing shoulder to shoulder and wait 15 to 30 minutes, but honestly that time is perfect for browsing everything! My go to orders are the Mortadella Pistachio and the Fig & Pig. They are $12 each, and yes a bit pricey but the freshness and quality make it worth it.

Wow! What a fun place to check out. There's ample parking. A lot of photo ops outside, some picnic…read moretables. So much bustle. So many people. You walk in and Theres a check out area. A fresh produce, meat, fish, sausage, pickled olives, section. You walk further down and Theres the grab and go food section. Then to the left you have wine and cheese. You go further in, and Theres a fancy cheese section. Unfortunately they don't give small amounts of cheeses and cut it for you. But you can buy some really good cheeses here. Then you go back to the very narrow hallway, and Theres a ton of coffee on the left. I just got into coffee and am a coffee snob. I noticed there was a "greasy" looking bean. Which just means it's well past its freshness. The price of bean actually isnt that bad. And they offer a lot of varieties. Anyway...We got two kinds, Guatemala and organic Mexico. I wanted to try it out before writing this review. The Guatemala one was light, faint. Which tells me the bean is stale. No longer fresh. The Mexico was a deeper flavor but also on its way out. I would recommend to management to better advertise the coffee bean so the product moves and stays fresh, or maybe move it to a different section where people can feel comfortable getting it. It gets so crowded in the hallway. I would leave the hallway was a grab and go area. Or, I would sell what you have at inventory and limit the options to the top sellers. You keep walking down and you have the coffee shop to the right, and a small bread stand to the left. Of course we got coffee. Theres a small area of seating to get coffee for there. Theres a big roaster to give the appearance that they roast their own coffee but I believe it's just for decoration. Fiancé got a cappuccino. It was okay. He normally doesn't get coffee with too much milk but the waitress said there was 3 shots of espresso in there. I would say it didn't taste like 3 shots. It taste like coffee with 90% milk. And it should be told to customers that a cappuccino there is more milk with coffee. I got the con panno. Which is espresso with whipped cream. I'm not sure if the whip cream they use is fresh, or if it's super sweetened, but my coffee was sweet. It was thick which I like but I didn't like whatever sweetener they used. But I'd probably order a macchiato if I ever came back so I could taste the coffee. On the other side of the coffee shop is the sandwiches and prepared food that you order. Sandwiches are HUGE. Fiancé had the #1 with all the fixings. It was nice but if you don't like soggy sandwiches, you can ask for no veggies. Which we would do next time. I had the 7, no sun-dried tomatoes and no veggies. It was so good. The mozzerella was very fresh! If you walk past that you have the dried cured meat, and down a hallway to the right you'll find dried pasta and fresh pasta. The fresh pasta looked so good. I wished we lived in the area so I could try. You head back the other way and pass the outdoor seating and Theres also a place for you to check out you grocery/sandwiches. Right next to that section you have the pantry area of canned fish, pickled things, olive oil. Then Theres the bread and pastry area. We only had time to see these and no time to see what other stores they had or walk around. But I'd definitely come back to check those out.

Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I won't be returning. I stopped in around 3:00 p.m. and was happy to see it wasn't busy. I went to the deli counter, waited for someone to serve me, ordered my chicken salad, grabbed a soda and chips, and headed to the open register. As I walked up, the cashier called another customer over ahead of me. I waited while he spent several minutes deciding whether to pay cash or by card because of the 4% card fee. I continued standing there with my three items, to the point that I actually set them down and debated walking out. Then, instead of helping me, the cashier motioned for an entire family to come to the registereven though I had been standing there waiting before they arrived. After that, she waved over another customer, and I had to wait while a mother and her two teenagers decided which desserts they wanted. Again, I stood there patiently. When it was finally my turn, there was no greeting, no "thank you for waiting," nothing. The first thing I was asked was, "Do you have a pickup order?" I said no. She then motioned for my chicken salad container, saying she needed it. I placed it on the scale and set my other items on the counter. The cashier then asked, "Are you okay?" I simply shook my head because, honestly, I wasn't. Instead of recognizing why I was frustrated, she continued talking, making comments, and escalating the interaction rather than simply ringing me up. At that point, I asked, "Do you want to argue? Do you want me to go back and forth with you?" I then asked who the manager was. She pointed to a woman beside her, who identified herself as the owner. I asked if she could ring me up instead. Even then, the cashier continued making comments. It was only after she continued engaging me that my voice became louder in response. Rather than addressing the repeated comments from her employee or asking what had happened, the owner immediately said, "Do not raise your voice at my employee." That response was disappointing. There was no concern for the customer experience, no apology for repeatedly being skipped in line, and no attempt to resolve the situation. There was also no acknowledgment that the interaction had been escalated by the cashier's continued remarks before I ever raised my voice. The irony is that I have spent a significant amount of money catering from Frankie's Deli over the years because my customers love the food. Good food will bring people in once. Great customer service keeps them coming back. Sadly, this experience ended that relationship for me. There are plenty of places with great food, but respect and customer service matter just as much. One final thought: this is Florida not NY. Hospitality goes a long way. The aggressive, dismissive attitude I experienced isn't what I expect when supporting a local business. I won't be back.
