4 person maximum inside the shop. The bagels are made fresh every day, all day long, as they should be. Ordered the honey roasted turkey on the cheddar jalapeño bagel, toasted with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, green peppers, jalapeños, cucumber and horseradish Dijon and an eggel with cheddar cheese, eggs, sausage on an onion bagel. My sandwich was just okay. The sandwiches take a little bit of time, almost 10 minutes for mine and the breakfast sandwich too. My husband's egg sandwich was cheesy, most was stuck onto the foil. He ate up his sandwich in a jiffy. The bagels alone are a little too dense and not chewy enough or airy either. The plus is that the ingredients seem to be fresh, the vegetables that is. read more

I work in the area and this is my goto bagel stop. The garlic bagels are the best in Michigan and are #2 all time to me to a place that closed down (sad point). They move along quick and have super dope cream cheese. It is a grab and go, with no seating. Biggest challenge is I want to eat the bagels as soon as I leave. read more

No ma'am this place is NOT it! I got a pumpernickel bagel with cream cheese and a salt stick and both were hard as a rock. It was early Saturday morning and I was the only person there so there's really no excuse in my opinion why a bakery would have hard and stale bagels that early in the morning. Ordered 3 bagels on a Saturday. 1 Asiago toasted with butter, arrived untouched in a bag. 1 Veggie Bagel with Cream Cheese, correct. 1 Asiago Hot Pastrami, received a "turkey pastrami" which was a clump of meat on a bagel. Disappointing lunch carryout left me hungry and sad. I was feeling under the weather so my bf offered to get carryout and I ordered the loaded potato soup and a turkey sandwich. The soup was inedible - it was basically potatoes stuffed in the bowl. Zero liquid. The sandwhich had burnt toast on one side, raw on the other. They hid the burnt side inside so first bite was gross. They must need a new toaster. 1 piece of bread was burnt on one side, fine on the other. I have to admit-- I am biased. No, it's not a conflict of interest, I just ALREADY LOVED BARRY's when I stopped in today for the first time to their new Clawson location. I'm from the Ann Arbor area, my first memory of the West Side Barry's being so long ago that I was in a stroller with my mom! That smell of bagels that wafts into Nicola's books, the window with steps for the little one to peep the bagels, the weird 90's decor. I just loved it. This Clawson location lacks a little of the charm of the old location, but that can't really be helped. They do have big windows around the prep area, so you can bring your kiddos and have them see where the magic happens. As far as what I had-- it was a sesame bagel with lox, onion, capers and plain cream cheese. It was spot on. If you've never had Barry's bagels, they're quite soft, a little chewy (never tough) and very flavorful. Truthfully, it's the closest thing to a NYC bagel I've had outside of the city. The smoked salmon was fresh, buttery, not 'fishy' or mealy-- tasted fresh and high quality. (Believe me-- I've had a lot of smoked salmon!) It was a $10 sandwich, but that can be expected with lox, so I was prepared yo drop some cash. (When you can spend $9 on Subway, I'm not complaining...) Overall, in the words of my boyfriend, "Finally a good fucking bagel in the neighborhood!" read more

This our our favorite bagel place, and worth the drive from Madison Heights. The offer a variety of bagels and toppings. My favorite is the hot corned beef bagel with red onion, jalapeno, and horseradish-dijon. The people are friendly, handle the order and preparation very quickly. I'm sorry but this is the most disgusting, rubbery food I've ever had. How can every single piece of food, all of which are completely different, have the exact same rubber consistency? Both bagels, the egg, and the bacon. The bacon is actually raw. The havarti cheese looks likes they scraped the last few shreds out of an empty bag. The egg is like water-logged rubber. The garlic bagels are completely covered in sesame seeds, and it looks like they counted out about 10 garlic flakes because they can't afford more. And the coffee is watered down and stale. I have been getting breakfast via Delivery, somewhat regularly since this Pandemic started. Most people leave remarks when they only want to complain. I am doing the opposite. Not only have they gotten my order correct 100% of the time (March 2020- present) they clearly pay attention to details. I just moved and I definitely have no idea where my cutlery is. I included that in the notes and they sent me extras and a cute note. No one had to do that, but they did. It made my day better. :) read more

The service is always quick and the prices are standard for a bagel shop. This place hasn't had a toaster working in 3-4 days. I work in Clawson and would rather driver 4 miles out of the way to go to Einstein bagels as the service is quicker and all equipment functions properly. Why not bring another toaster in or try to adapt. read more

This place is very good for bagel sandwiches. They're consistent with how they make the sandwiches and how much meat and stuff they give you. Never disappointed when we order from here. Placed an online pickup order, waited at the store for 20 minutes post order ready time. Watched as a number of customers walked in placed similar orders and left. When I asked if my order would be done soon because I had to leave for a meeting, I was told it would be a few more minutes. I'm a huge fan of Barry's but this is very upsetting. read more

I don't want to leave this review, but customer service is ridiculous! Placed my online order at 9:45, and at 10:30 my daughter is still waiting for the small order. They are out of chicken salad and apparently in the process of making egg salad, and it would be another 15 minutes, which she really didn't want us to wait for. Seriously it would be an hour after placing the on line order waiting for the egg salad, and that's if it's even ready then! I always say I'll give them one more try, but sadly this is the last time. There are other bagel shops around with much better customer service. read more

This is my go to quick breakfast spot because it's right near my home. I am so glad this opened where it did. These bagels are heaven on earth! Seriously, the flavor is awesome and unlike any other place I've had. There are many options to choose from like everything, sesame, jalapeño cheddar, blueberry, etc. My favorite is the asiago bagel with plain cream cheese not warmed. I recommend not warmed/toasted, so the cream cheese doesn't melt. I've also had the Spinach Feta which was really good too. I'll be coming here for a long time! read more

The bagels are great when you can actually get them/sandwiches are made correctly, but that is very rare. Service and speed are a gamble depending on who is working(the difference is massive.) Last thing that bothers me more than anything is that every single solitary day they run out of everything bagels by like 10 am, it happens every time I call. Yet none of the managers has ever thought that maybe it's a good idea to make more of the kind they constantly runout of. Delicious!!!! Greeted at the door as soon I walked in. The counter was filled with juices and water bottles. Don't forget the fresh coffee too. The freshly baked cookies caught my eye too. The bagels were in labeled bins and made easy to order. The menu is very easy to read to make a bagel sandwich the way the customer wants it. We eat bagels all the time in our home so I can't wait to add this location to my daily run. So excited that Barry's Bagel is officially open! read more
