Cinnamon bagels
Karolina K.

Staff is always very friendly at this location but every time I'm there (lately once a week) around 11am they are out of many bagel flavors. Not sure why. One time I had to left because there was almost nothing to choose from. Other than that the bagels are very good

Kaela K.

Quick service, good prices, and good bagels. They boil their bagels here and have a few different simple coffee options. No dine in seating unfortunately. There is free 2 hour parking in the garage on 2nd street so you can avoid the RO meters.

The lines snd wait times and service is terrible

This has to be one of the worst stores I have ever been to. I love eating at these places they have the best bagels but the customer service and wait time here is absolutely ridiculous. If you want to get a bagel here please clear out at least 35 to 40 minutes of your schedule to wait and place your order and actually get your food. They are always short staffed and very very slow. By the way every single time I come here they never ever have everything bagels which are a part of their signature sandwich. So if you want an everything bagel please do not come here.

I love Bruegger's Bagels but I'm not a huge fan of this location. Every time I get a bagel at this location the bagel is as white as a sheet of paper. When I go to the location in Ann Arbor or the one in Rochester Hills the bagels are cooked to a nice golden brown. The bagels at the Royal oak location look almost raw. It has me nervous and I always have to ask them not to slice my bagel and for the cream cheese on the side. I then take the bagel back to work and I have to put it in the oven a little longer to get it golden brown to make sure it's cooked properly. I shouldn't have to do that. Rather than pick my favorite flavor, I pick the bagel that looks the darkest.

5-Star rating for the service & staff here. They are so friendly and go out of their way to be positive to every customer walking in! Their product offering is simple. You won't find some of the unique flavors you would at for example Detroit Institute of Bagels, however Brueggers has consistent quality & good for all types of crowds from families/ grandparents / teens. Updated review: One of our favorite reasons coming to this bagel shop is the friendly staff & management! Love the environment at the Royal Oak location. Their coffee is a step up from Folgers, but because they are not trying to be a specialty coffee shop I think this is okay. Couple suggestions that would be for corporate - more whole wheat bagel options: plain & whole wheat everything are great! - but it would be nice to have more options like whole wheat blueberry, cinnamon pecan raisin, rosemary, or cranberry! - stock coffee bar with stoppers so customers can avoid spilling their coffee on the go - would be nice to have almond milk with coffee instead soy as alternative option - stock spices like cinnamon at bar to sprinkle on bagel or drinks __________________ All the things I would give Breugger's a 5-star rating on - friendly staff - clean & trendy environment - price point to flavor of food There are a few things my husband and I immediately noticed as customers at the Royal Oak location. 1. There is not a place for customers to get their own water. If you want water you have to ask one of their staff 2. There are no coffee stoppers. I know this may seem like a small detail, but to those ordering coffee to-go, coffee stoppers help prevent spilling! Their house coffee has a good flavor - I'd recommend. Their flavored coffees do not include pumps of sugary syrup, but rather the flavor is roasted with the beans - which is slightly healthier. The cold brew was not the strong flavor we would have expected from say Starbucks or Atomic down the road. (Would not recommend the cold brew) Highlights on the menu for us: - western egg sandwhich - whole wheat everything bagel with scallion bacon cream cheese - pastrami lunch sandwich - peanut butter bar!

Caesars salad with delicious rosemary olive oil bagel bites and ices tea

My fiance and I were walking down Main street when all of a sudden someone came out and offered to buy us lunch. They were doing a staff training for their grand reopening and they were having people come in and try some of their new items. It just so happens that that night we were coming to this exact location for a Yelp Elite event. The remodel is SO nice! It definitely doesn't feel like just a bagel shop anymore and I would definitely come here to hang out and do work. For our free lunch we decided to try their salads, I got the caesar and my fiance did the build your own. I was very hesitant about getting a salad from a bagel and sandwich place but I was pleasantly surprised. The salad was pretty generous and tasted extremely fresh. Usually I am a little skeptical of getting chicken just anywhere, but this chicken was delicious! I have to say that Bruegger's is really stepping up their game! In my opinion, the remodel of Bruegger's is beautiful and their food is very fresh and delicious.

I really enjoyed my bagels from here wish I was a little surprised because normally I don't hit Royal Oak for stuff like this or tell the truth most things anymore. Normally I go to Einstein bagels because they're close by and as a New Yorker they're very popular there so normally I stick with a lot of the stuff that reminds me of my childhood. But I came here to take someone to a health shop and while sitting in the car waiting on them I saw this place so I decided to check it out because I was in the mood for a bagel anyways and thought you know what no problem give them a try. I really was not disappointed at all because the bagel was just the right amount of soft when you're biting into it that you're not struggling to rip a piece off to eat. I went with the onion bagel with egg and cheese and the onion on the bagel complemented the egg and cheese just right. Overall the price was just right to it wasn't overly expensive and about the same pricing as Einstein bagel which I couldn't complain about. I would say I'd be coming back more often but personally I don't like Royal Oak downtown because there's almost no parking and that's a big issue with me since I don't like driving around the block several times just waiting for a parking spot to open up. But I definitely would recommend it to anyone who would want to try this place that lives in the area or is just visiting.

The people working here were so friendly and personable with literally everyone that walked in the door. The service was top notch. It is also the most adorable place giving vibes of Lamy's food counter at Henry Ford Museum. I loved all of the options on the menu and it was so hard just picking a couple items to try. We had chicken tacos. They were so good and so fresh, I loved the sauce on top. Honestly, I am not sure if it was cheese or a sour cream type mixture, but it was creamy and flavorful. I also had the torta which was absolutely incredible. It had the same chicken as the taco. The chicken was slow cooked or stewed and shredded and was so flavorful, like a homecooked chef's kiss. The bread was fresh. I loved the sauce poured over it, making it a dipped and soaked sandwich. The carrots and cilantro, sliced radishes and sliced fresh jalapenos added a level of crunch, freshness and deeper flavor profile. I would want to get this every time. We also tried their delicious "curly" fries, which were like julienned shoestring fries fired fresh. It seemed like every dish was made fresh and right in front of you. So worth it, plus the prices are great. I would love to try their fried chicken plate, their breakfast sandwiches, and their other desserts. We talked to the man behind the counter who seemed like maybe a manager. He gave us their famous chocolate chip cookie to try. It was fresh baked and delicious. I would love to take home more of those. It looked so simple but was better than many bakeries specializing in cookies alone. He also gave us an second order of fries to take home with my leftovers, just top notch kindness and service. This man told us that OWL owns other restaurants and we would probably like them. I am open to trying more of their group but I do want to return here. This is one of those diners you would find being profiled for best kept secret or gourmet home cooked foods under the guise of fast food.

I ordered the Mediterranean skillet, lemon pancakes, and a side of biscuits and gravy. Yes, this was a heavy breakfast! The Mediterranean skillet had plenty of feta, which I LOVED but it was dry overall. There was no sauce to really bring everything together. I even got eggs over medium and the egg yolk did not add much creaminess. It was good, just not my favorite thing I've eaten. The lemon pancakes were absolutely unreal. Sooo fluffy and the cream cheese frosting was incredible. I would 100% recommend them. I also tried a side of biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was very thick, which was not my favorite, but the gravy itself was amazing, but it's the white super peppery kind, which I know is not everybody's favorite! Again, just kind of dry, even with the gravy. The service was good, and for a Saturday around 11 AM, the 20 minute wait was totally reasonable. I would definitely come back, just probably not for the skillet next time.

My friend ordered house made corned beef hash with eggs, & cheese grits (gave it a 9/10) the grits needed some salt & pepper; and a Cinnabunn pancake (we give that a 12/10). The pancake was fire!!! I tasted a piece and wanted to order my own. My other friend ordered the crème brule chicken & waffles - she gave it a 9/10. I ordered an egg white omelet with turkey sausage, chicken, spinach & bell peppers. It was good but a little too runny for my liking. It came with fruit and whole wheat bread. I asked for strawberry jam and they brought me a homemade strawberry sauce that was soooo good! I give my meal an 7.5/10. Overall, the place is cute and pretty spacious with lots of seating. I used to live nearby about 25 years ago and remember coming to a diner in this area for breakfast back then. Fast forward to today--this isn't the same place, but wow, it's absolutely amazing. Right away I loved the vibe. The chalkboards with handwritten menu items and daily specials on the walls give the place so much character and charm. It feels welcoming, classic, and cool all at the same time. The customer service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the country breakfast, which came with biscuits and gravy, eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage--everything was spot on. I'm usually not a big hash browns person, so I really appreciated that they offer an alternative to the shredded style. I went with the cubed breakfast potatoes (not sure what they officially call them), and they were so much better--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Between the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, this place completely won me over. I already know I'll be back next weekend. Oak Diner has a really, really good vibe, and I'm glad I rediscovered breakfast here. Highly recommend.
