So glad we tried the newest bagel shop and Barry's will be welcomed into our rotation. We loved the bright orange of their branding and it helped us spot their building right away. My husband and I both ordered the egg, cheese and meat. Yum! You get your pick of bagel and meat. Loved my bacon and the size of the sandwich. We ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese to split. So soft! They add the cream cheese. My husband also got a small cup of chicken salad. I appreciated it. Subtle flavors but good and I appreciated it wasn't overrun with onion. Check out their menu ... they offer a lot of options. Out of the breakfast mindset? No issue - lunch options, chips and sodas are available. Service was friendly, which helped us overlook the hiccups of it being slow and the coffee being completely empty. If you're staying in, a small coffee is more than enough and you can refill it. I wasn't wild about either roast and wished I'd kept my dollars for another shop. Seating is scarce. There's one counter with about 8 high top chairs and three tables for 2ppl. A family of 4 might struggle to find seating so be prepared to an alternative. Parking is shared with other businesses. No issue to get a spot in their lot. read more

So glad to have another bagel spot in Louisville. The prices are great & Service was friendly & happy to help. It was new & clean with a few places to sit. They have plenty to choose from. I went with the BLT on a jalapeño cheddar bagel with scallion cream cheese. I also got their potato salad to try. It's mustard based & the potatoes could stand to be cooked a little longer but it was still good! They were cleaning up from a late lunch rush so next time I will have to get a variety 1/2 dozen to take home for my husband & I to try for the week. Barry Bagels are some of the better bagels in town. They're made fresh on site, and they offer a range of traditional spreads and breakfast sandwiches alongside a rather large list of deli sandwiches and salads. I haven't tried any of the latter. The regular bagels with cream cheese are fresh. They're not as generous with cream cheese as you'd find in NYC nor are they as good, but these are about as close as I've encountered here in Louisville. The waits can get pretty long when they're busy, as the staff haven't quite managed handling a bunch of orders and cycling them through quickly. But, they're upbeat and engaging even when busy. The ambiance is pretty much like any quick service spot and seating is limited, so I recommend just grabbing your food and dining elsewhere. Get here early! We came on a Sunday at 11 and the line was out the door. The bagel or the eggel (bagel with egg and cheese) was really good. I tried yall. I really did. I've tried both locations in Louisville and I'll say this: They are consistent. Consistently underbaked, flavorless bagels. I even asked for it toasted this time. It was barely warm and that toasting seemed more like a little trip for the bagel than anything that actually TOASTED the bagel. I get it that this location (Norton commons) is new. However. This isn't because of that. It's just NOT A GOOD BAGEL SHOP. IF ANYTHING IS WORTH IT, take bagels home and actually toast them. Might finally get some caramelization in the crust. They still have no flavor in the actual bagels. Stick with Payne Street. Literally handcrafted from a local bagel specialist with YEARS of proven product. The employees were a little overwhelmed when I came in for a takeout order. However, they were very friendly and did their best during a difficult day. Definitely empathized with them and felt they worked hard to full orders quickly. The food was...fine. Decent turkey sandwich on a honey wheat bagel. But this was the smallest bagel I've ever seen. It doesn't need to be Costco sized, but this was on the other end if the spectrum. I was so happy when I heard a new bagel spot was opening in town. What a disappointment. I ordered 2 bec sandwiches on everything's bagels. First, I noticed the gentleman helping me pulled out these oddly shaped bacon wheels. They look very processed and not fresh. Next I see him scoop liquid eggs into a plastic container with cheese and place it into the microwave. The cheese looked extremely processed and so was turned off by the fact that they chose to use fake eggs. The container he refilled with said egg product on the side. As confirmed when I took the first bite in the car, the bagels were below average and the bacon egg and cheese all tasted like processed plastic. There was not a long line and I was able to order quickly. The person taking my order was helpful in assisting me pick my food selections. They serve breakfast sandwiches all day and I knew I wanted a breakfast sandwich. They do not have turkey or vegan bacon or sausage so I went with turkey slices with eggs mixed with onions, tomatoes and peppers. I also added a slice of cheese. The bagel was super soft and yummy! Got a dozen of bagels through them last week using an app called "too good to go" that is supposed to be for companies to sell their soon to expire food and save from having to toss otherwise good food. Well, out of the dozen, quite a few were burnt pretty severely on the bottom side and many others were misshapen and much thinner on one side. I feel as if these weren't simply soon to expire, but rated not good enough to be on the rack for sale hence the lower rating for this business. If it isnt good enough for the business, you wont save face by selling them in another market base, it still reflects on the business. read more

It's pretty good. It was best the first weekend I tried it the next time it was not as good. They cut the bagels inconsistently I had to ask them to redo it because mine didn't have a bottom that wasn't broken. The bacon is microwaved and not worth getting. I never leave reviews but this was so bad I have to. I ordered two garlic bagels toasted, one with jalapeño CC and the other with turkey, cheese, lettuce and mayo. I couldn't tell but the first bagel looked like sesame so I confirmed with the employee who said it was garlic. I couldn't tell because the bagel was so barely toasted that I wouldn't even call it toasted. I thought maybe the garlic just didn't brown as much as it would normally. This first bagel was cut ridiculously in half horizontally, but I then asked to cut vertically to share with my husband to which I told them that we were sharing both. they then cut it ridiculously vertically so it was one giant piece and three tiny pieces. Ok I can deal. Then when doing the turkey bagel, the same cutting issue except the knife wasn't cleaned so if smeared the jalapeño cream cheese all over this one. Also watched as there was literally no mayo left in the bottle so they put a single dot of mayo on then cut it. Ordered the bagels to go so figured I could put more mayo on at home. Only to get home and find both bagels were in fact sesame bagels and not garlic. My husband and I think the mistakes were so egregious that it was done purposefully. we were pleasant the entire time and the only customers in the entire place so they weren't overwhelmed In fact, I should have spoken up. 30 bucks later, we ate what we could.
