I was really hoping for a new and unique bar in town. I got new and unique, but good? No. I wasn't impressed. The place looks nice enough with the special lighting and the plush seating areas , but things went down hill badly when we ordered our drinks...a Cape Cod and Screwdriver with Tito's vodka. First of, it's not a real confidence builder when your barkeep has to look up how to make two of the most basic drinks around. Not impressed. Then, he made the drinks with well vodka instead of Tito's. He could have offered to let us have the drinks while he mixed what we asked for, but instead he dumped them out and started over. Just not a very good first impression. OK. Yeah, I'm an older gay man and I wasn't expecting a gay bar experience, but my friend and I were uncomfortable being there. As a Coachella Valley native, I have done my fair share of exploring the valley for great scenes. My boyfriend and I heard of this place from a mutual friend, who understands our love for crazy/Tim Burtenesque art, so we decided to give it a shot! Formally a gay bar, then a lame bar, these guys had some work to do! I could not believe how rad it was from the second I walked in! The lighting was bad ass, the seating was great, there were video game consoles available to be played, old school joystick machines, and the bar was long so it gave plenty of room for people ordering drinks. More importantly, the bartenders, Rambo and Collin, were the sweetest. The entire place was decked out in badass art. Nearly every wall was something awesome to see, and they even sold shorts with some of the art work printed directly on them! It doesn't end there, though! Somehow, it was also Battleship night. That's right! Battleship the board game!! 8 dollar entry into the tournament pool, and for every ship sunk, you had to take a shot. 8 bucks for a fun tournament AND drinks included?! I'm in! Rambo was even so sweet as to get me a chaser! Long story short, it was a great way to meet other people! Oh, and because I won the tournament, they gave me 50 bucks!! Which was way rad! Loved this place so much that we came back the next weekend and brought friends who also LOVED the place!! After that, I moved to Santa Clarita, but since I frequent the desert, I make it a point to go there any time my boyfriend and friends want to go out and do something. Mind you, my boyfriend and friends live on the other side of the valley, about a 20 min drive and we STILL would rather drive there than any other place! Anyways, last weekend we went again and this time it was a beer pong tournament. My friend and I won 100 bucks!!!! BUT THE BEST PART was meeting the owner and his dad, Kelly, who is just about the coolest guy ever. We got to talking business and he kindly grabbed me a drink-on the house. This place is one of a kind. If you don't at least try it out, you're doing yourself an injustice. Don't expect a huge crowd, because it is new as of right now! But Rambo, Collin, and Kelly are definitely people you want to know!!! Side note: they remember their customers so well that they even tagged me on a post on Instagram to defend my titles. It's Monday night, it's empty ... maybe it gets better on weekends. Rambo looks like a samurai LoL. The place is really nice as far as decor. There's one guy with a fuzzy looking beard sitting at end of bar and he's got 2 blondes on each side of him...he's wearing a black vest that says Misfits. This is a great place to bring friends for a fun night out. The staff members there are friendly, courteous, and they know how to make an excellent cocktail. The general vibe in this bar is reflective of the 90s culture that most millennials grew up. They have Nintendo 64s for you to play while you are having a drink at the bar, there are many 90s pop culture references in the bar, and they often have live performances by local musicians at the dance floor. Not to mention, they have plenty of board games such as Jenga for you to play with your friends. Most people who visit Bart tend to be Millennials who are fans of alternative music, anime, and living a bohemian lifestyle. If that is the kind of crowd you desire to be around with, this is the place you want to visit. I also like how you can step outside the bar near the balcony area to get some fresh air and be able to have an audible conversation. Sweet bar I was waiting for something like this in the valley. It really is unique. Since it's new it's really not that busy but when the word gets out about this place it's soon to be packed. I would give this bar a zero if I could. The man with the buzz cut/longer hair and tattoo was an absolute sweetheart but the woman with dark brown hair and the man with the longer dark blonde hair/Hawaiian shirt was completely sexist against me while they gave my male cousin next to me a drink. I asked politely for a drink and they ordered me water seeing that I was a female who look "intoxicated". The male asked me how many fingers he was holding up. Obviously I answered correctly. I feel discriminated against and truly believe that they talked Ill about me in front of my face. I confronted them and they disregarded me for more than 10 minutes. I love this bar, been coming here for about 2 years now. I know the staff and they're all very friendly. I like that the owner helps out his employees, especially on busy nights, that shows dedication. Drinks are good, prices are great, environment is comfortable and fun with many things to do. Best dance spot I've been to, the vibes and the music specially when my friends from Ocho ojos play im there, only thing i would suggest is the bar area, they need to have me re bartenders they make their drinks delicious but usually there's 2-3 bartenders trying to serve the whole lounge. My wife loves dancing and the club environment. I love punk rock music and venues so it's damn near impossible for us to find somewhere we can both enjoy until now! Barts has boardgames and classic arcade games which was an awesome way to start the night. Then, we went on to the dance floor where a DJ was spinning music we both enjoyed. Julian was the rudest most condescending person I'm a hospitality manager in the area and he wouldn't let my daughter in and she's 25 and showed him 5 pieces of identification. I send customer to local bars and I would never let guest encounter such negligent arrogance. His power trip attitude was beyond abusive and patronizing. He was ignorant and uninformed. If you want you business to close it's doors keep him on and watch your profits decline. Women have been standing up to this behavior and it's not the 80's to prohibit us from entering a public establishment. I wanted to call the police. So cool that they have Game Cube and other consoles right on the bar. It makes for a raucous night if you get competitive with friends on Mario Kart.
