Truss and Twine has so many phenomenal drinks that I probably wouldn't get this again but it's a good one! Papaya Salad: 4/5 Is it a little muted? Does it have fillers like cabbage? Is it pricey? Yes, but it's made with care and vegan for that crowd. They do little details like blanching the green beans that really impressed me but it definitely is a little toned-down in the flavor department. I would get it again to accompany my drinks but not as its own thing. Wagyu Beef Dumplings: 2/5 I didn't like these at all. The filling was dense and didn't taste like a proper dumpling filling. For all the oil they were floating in, it was very bland. Especially at the price it's at, I would pass. Ambiance: Modern and sleek. Come super casual or super dressed up. I've come looking rough while sitting right next people in full glamour. Service: The bartenders are all very attentive. If you feel like you're being ignored, flag them down and they'll catch right back up with you. Parking: There is only street parking but I never had issue finding any parking. It is part of the workshop restaurant same owners, and you can tell that there is a little bit of the same ambience throughout the entire lounge. Interesting spot. Very minimalist feel. Went in on a Thursday night, and it wasn't too busy. We sat at the bar. They have a nice menu that includes some classics, plus some of their own creations. The bartenders seem really knowledgeable though, so if you don't see something on the menu you want, definitely check for recommendations. I went with the Death at the Beach. The coconut cream wasn't heavy, but just gave it a soft mouthfeel. They had a special pop up kitchen that night. The food looked good, but we had already eaten. The setting overall is cozy and well designed often featuring kitchen pop ups from their grill inside. The atmosphere was so chill, the people were friendly, and the staff, including the manager, made me feel incredibly welcome. We had the best drinks and small bites late dinner here after arriving in PS a little late Thursday night. Brian, who runs the bar, was great. Our "Old Fashioned" cocktails were made with so much attention to detail and loving care. The way he ran the perfectly cut lemon and lime peel all around the rim with care was matched by the care he took mixing the yummy concoction. And the food? OMG! It was upscale fabulous Mexican fare with deep, complex flavors. We watched the chefs prepare food all evening and they made every order with incredible care and passion. The birria tacos were the best we've ever had! SO much flavor and beautifully presented. The perfectly cooked white shrimp tostatitos were carefully placed on the yummiest dark, flavorful sauce and topped with cilantro, sliced radish, pickled red onion and more. Went for the Miracle Christmas pop-up. I've been to Miracles every year since they started and Truss & Twine really dialed theirs in. They had some string Christmas lights hanging from the bar and a few decorations on the wall. Most Miracles are over-the-top with kitschy Christmas stuff from floor to ceiling. Usually they are really fun. But not here. Plus the host and bartenders seemed way over it. And our bartender filled our Nog less than halfway full. It looked ridiculous and was no fun. It was a semi busy night, and the male bartender with the pony tail was extremely rude and ruined our experience. No TVs which is probably good because of the chill vibe it wants to let off. We had a friend that was wearing a birthday crown and every single one of the staff wished her a happy birthday as they passed by.
