Pharmacy review In short I know I can't complain much, because it isn't even Bartell's anymore--it's Rite-Aid in subsidiary form, responding to that company's leadership. But this was ridiculous. In long I was overdue for a booster and wanted to get in to the closest pharma to my house. I've had a handful of solid experiences here, anyway, through the years. Booking was easy online, even got to pre-load my insurance info and all that. Rescheduling online was also easy when I ended up making fun plans during my originally-scheduled time slot. I finally get in and the store seems the same--multiple rows, multiple aisles, clean, brightly lit, seems well-enough organized (though that's coming from someone who wasn't shopping). Get back to the pharma counter and 4 folks are working. 2 folks in line. One finally finishes and I step up. Been about 5 minutes at this point, but all is normal so far. One person peels off to help the drive-through folks. Were they really next? I dunno, but it's easier to feel abandoned at the window if nobody comes over, so I get it. 10 more minutes go by. Dude isn't paying attention, and neither am I, because I hadn't realized there was now a line behind me. Dude jumps the line. He, uh, clearly needs his meds, and has some difficulty walking, so I don't feel the least bit bad waiting a little longer. I'm still standing at the window, big dude wearing a bright-red plaid shirt. Somebody else jumps the line. She is able-bodied, and also needs the tech to ring out a couple bottles of wine from her shopping. He does. I am now almost 30 minutes into my visit, no one has said hello, and I am the least thing from invisible. Finally the tech working the drive-through comes back over, apologizes profusely, gets things started, and I stand there for a few minutes. Another tech comes over, points to me, says they had better "verify" me, and they walk away. Who thinks this is the right way to behave around customers? Approaching 45 minutes of waiting, the main pharma says they don't have the vax I've been on. Asks if I'll take another one. I say I have no idea whether I should. I have to ask him what I should consider before deciding, and he says people switch back and forth all the time without issue. Okay. Why hadn't you said that up front? I wait 10 more minutes and finally get the jab. He's pleasant and competent and I am in and out quickly. The "consultation room" is a combination storeroom/washroom, with stacks of boxes blocking a sink. It feels like the washroom in any strip mall restaurant on 99. In the end, a visit that could have taken maybe 5 minutes took almost an hour, while they ignored me, made odd comments within earshot, and asked odd questions. This does not seem like the kind of work environment where people can thrive. Unless you're just using the retail side, I'd avoid. read more

Bartell no longer exists! This brick and mortor store is now north Lynnwood CVS Pharmacy. It has been open for about 2 weeks. So far, the changes have destroyed the good customer service that went away when Bartell was disolved. Every change made by CVS is counterintuative to customer advocacy and support. CVS does not give a damn! You are no longer a person or a customer of a human being. You are a number and a paying business opportunity. CVS is going to have try a lot harder if they really give a shit--which does not seem to be the case. They don't care. Struggle on your own! Shame on CVS. Shame. Shame. Shame. read more

Due to poor pharmacy prescription service, I switched to a Bartell Drug store a little further south on 99 and since I made the change, am treated to much better service than I was receiving at this location. My 90 day refills are now filled completely in the same trip! I shopped here at Lake Serene for over 10 years and the corporate change in attitude towards the customer is blatant. On both the front and back end, The store seems to have much less OTC or pharmaceutical inventory compared to years past. It appears management is compensated based on how well they turn over their inventory rather than sales and service. I didn't appreciate that Bartells was that good until the acquisition by a corporate giant killed what was once a customer friendly store. read more

We have been coming to this Bartells since they were located a few blocks north. The employees are all so friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond in my opinion. The reason it's not a 5-Star review is because of their pharmacy drive thru. What in the world has happened to them?? If you are able to get through in under 20 minutes consider yourself lucky. This doesn't matter if there are no cars or three cars. The service time at the window is so horrible it would probably be better if they just closed it. Do people drive up and WAIT to get their prescriptions? During Covid we were behind someone who got the Covid test and Waited for it in line. Come on, pull aside for the wait time so everyone else isn't waiting with you. It's the person at the front window who's responsible to move people along. Get with the picture, Bartells. read more

Joan in the pharmacy was super helpful and so kind! I know pharmacists and those working in the pharmacy are often verbally abused and really busy, but she was so great! Quick and easy, I think it took 10 minutes to get in and out. read more

So sad to be leaving Bartell's, they may still have the name but it is truly Riteaid. The pharmacy can't even fill a regular prescription correctly and the drive thru pick up window is a nightmare. Expect a minimum wait of 15 minutes. I miss my neighborhood drug store!! read more

We recently went for a travel medicine consultation at the Lake Serene location and the pharmacist, Kyle Fowler, was phenomenal! He went through our information meticulously, called for clarification, we had a healthy back and forth regarding the choices we were making, he caught a few vaccines that we had missed (we thought we had gotten them already and he actually checked our state health records to verify!), offered us options he thought we might need...all of this was done in a way that we felt listened to, and without being coerced to make specific choices. Since there were three of us getting multiple/different shots and prescriptions, his organization skills were also commendable. He took his time to explain each item, do's and don'ts, and made sure we didn't have any lingering questions. Honestly his level of detail was way more thorough than anything we have previously gotten from our regular doctor's office. As a matter of fact we had just had a not-so-pleasant experience at the doctor's office, so working with Kyle was that much more appreciated. We will be coming here for all our future travel needs. read more

The pharmacy director, Kyle, is patient and knowledgeable, and definitely had a positive impact when he became the director. The rest of the pharmacy staff is pleasant and helpful. There does seem to be a rotation of people who are may be students, floats or interns, which doesn't probably add to the efficiency. All of that said, the pharmacy staff is always flying. Sometimes prescriptions aren't ready on time, but it isn't because the pharmacy staff isn't working. From my perspective, they need additional permanent staffing; however, this is a small pharmacy and there's only so much physical space and I'm sure Rite-Aid is squeezing every dime out of every element of the business. All of that said, the pharmacy is doing all of that, IN ADDITION to administering vaccinations, including COVID, flu, shringex, pneumonia, etc. And, from what I observe, without any additional help to meet the surge demands. I never see an extra person there to do flu shots, COVID shots, etc. There's only so far any given staffing can stretch. Since Rite-Aid has taken over, there has been a discernible down grade. Pharmacy bottle labels are printed in font so small it's almost impossible to read. Price of a gallon of bleach: Almost $5. Same item at the Dollar Store, $1.25. I don't shop in this store for essentials because the prices are too high to be considered. If I'm there to pick up a prescription, or get an OTC, I might pick up something else but I try to avoid actually shopping here. That said, the folks working here and working HARD. I think they need better support from HQ. read more

The store is great. This review is for the pharmacy department. I have had consistent issues, misinformation, and so many errors. If I did not pay attention or know what to look for, they would have killed my first dog for how they messed up his meds, and I could have had a severe allergic reaction. I get there is a lot to work, but please take a moment to review and share correct information and fill the correct prescription. If you are making mistakes, take time to take care of yourselves instead of risking hurting someone. read more

I frequent this store. I can usually find what I need at a fair price, but more important is the courteous and helpful service. Marlyn always greets me by name. When I got home today, I realized that I'd left an old family photo in the copy tray. I called Marlyn, and she retreived it for me to pick up in a few minutes. I am grateful. read more

I always prefer Bartell Drugs over RiteAid or Walgreens. First, they are a local company in the Northwest, but they still have enough locations to make it convenient. Second, as is the case with this new Lake Serene store that just opened in 2010, they are well-organized and clean. The shelves are not so tall they're above your head like they are in other chains, which really helps you locate the aisle you need and doesn't make you feel overwhelmed. The customer service is above average. Nothing to write home about, but at least the staff are alive. Sometimes at Walgreens/RiteAid, it seems like they'd rather die than check one more person out. This store is located at the corner of Highway 99 and 148th in Lynnwood, just across the street from Safeway. read more

I would give zero stars if that was an option. The pharmacy pretends like they are your Dr, that they have your test results and know more than a highly awarded professional DR in the field. They provide zero services, and they try to tell you what is best for you without having the real answers. Save yourself headach and find a real pharmacy with a heart and who is professional. I've been going here for awhile and this review is overdue! This is the friendliest most accommodating pharmacy I've been to! They go above and beyond whenever possible ! After reading the previous reviews, I logged in to review the pharmacy. I have had a good experience at this pharmacy, particularly since the new pharmacy director, Kyle, came to the store. He's knowledgeable about medications and always available to discuss any issues I bring to him, which I just did a couple of days ago, when he gave me my flu shot. And speaking of, I never allow the assistants at the doctors' offices to give me injections, I always go to the pharmacy where somebody with an actual understanding of the drugs and correct injection techniques does the administration, and I specifically wait for Kyle to be available. I've never understood why somebody would agree to get an injection from a person who isn't qualified to discuss the medication, potential side effects and interactions, etc. I get great customer service and think this pharmacy does a good job. As a RN of many years, I am an informed consumer. The rest of the store is staffed with people who I've found to be friendly and helpful and a special mention to Marilyn who is very personable to everyone. read more

This is the best pharmacy I have been to. The staff are always friendly and helpful. My prescriptions are filled in a timely way with no problems. Since I moved to Lynnwood 9 years ago, I have had very negative experiences with 3 different Walgreens. Unfriendly, unhelpful and suspicious. The people in the rest of this Bartell store are also very welcoming. I highly recommend it. read more

I have shopped at Bartels for many years. I have used Bartels on 148th in Lynnwood for all of my families prescriptions. I was recently in to pick up an RX along with the 25$ transfer coupon. The RX was transferred and I have not used a coupon on this drug at this pharmacy. The coupon meets all the criteria in Bartels small print. Your lovely Ms. Joan let me sit there and wait and then after 10 minutes said no we will not take this coupon. She was rude, unfriendly, awful customer service, and did not present the attitude you would expect from a pharmacy employee. If Bartels prints coupons that you have no intention of letting a customer use that this is False advertising. I pay enough for my prescriptions on top of that you are paid very well by my insurance. If you do not want my business that is FINE I will go elsewhere. Also I have noticed on previous prescriptions your use by date is old. read more

I would also give 0 stars if it were an option. I just took back a 32 oz bottle of lotion because the pump would not work. It had about 1/3 left in it. No, I did not have my receipt. When the manager finally got to me, he attempted to pump the lotion as if he didn't believe me. Then he took the pump out of the bottle and messed with it in an attempt to fix it? I stopped him just as he was ready to put it back in the bottle, explaining that I'd rather he didn't put it back after his hands had been all over it. He suggested it wasn't working because of the "viscosity" of the product. I explained that the pump had worked fine up till that point, so that wouldn't make sense. Then he didn't know if they even carried that lotion. I got another bottle from the shelf for him. He proceeded to compare the labels, at first saying the products were different, and then realizing they were the same. At this point he took the pump out of the new bottle, put it in the old one and sent me on my way. Though that was not the most professional solution, I am more than content to just have a pump that works. However, his actions and words were very accusing and insulting. Don't scammers ask for cash back and on more expensive items? I think it was all of $10.99. He threw away an entire bottle of perfectly good product along with at least one customer. He can keep his peace of mind along with this review and his extremely unprofessional management skills. This is probably the same guy that made false assumptions about the "Mexican/Italian" woman. There might be names for a guy like him. But I wouldn't want to stereotype! Let's just say "Manager" shouldn't be one of them. read more
